When fate forced Hannah Sorrento to take on the management of indie rockers, Storm, she managed to survive but, when she found out she'd been played by their mercurial front man, Jack Colt, the betrayal hit her hard.
She flees to Tokyo, where her father orchestrates a deal to save their collapsed financial empire. A deal that involves a gorgeous millionaire.
Tamaki is everything Jack isn't and, with their similar backgrounds, he and Hannah form a bond. He offers her safety and security as well as a return to her luxurious lifestyle. But the passion Jack arouses in Hannah won't be denied.
In the second Bad Boy Rock Star book, Rock Star vs Millionaire, can Hannah forgive Jack or will she take the sanctuary Tamaki offers?
Candy J. Starr used to be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. “Screw you,” she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity – totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.
Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She’s seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She’s seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.
Hannah is asked to go to Japan by her father. Her father has a plan to make them rich again. Hannah is to marry into a rich family. Hannah meets Tamika. Hannah is not aware of the marriage plan until she is already in Japan. While in Japan Angie is trying to manage the band. Angie gets a huge deal to figure out for the bands future and needs Hannah’s help.
Jack is still fighting his feelings for Hannah. Jack wants to be with Hannah but knows he will never make her rich again. He won’t be able to give her that lifestyle. Jack does not realize that all this time without money has changed Hannah. Hannah wants more out of life, being rich is awesome and means financial security but Hannah looking back on who she was does not like that version of herself. She realizes that she was not LIVING before and wants Jack above all else. But she feels that there is no point since Jack is always pushing her away. Thus the reason to go to Japan.
After meeting Tamika and hanging out she realizes he is a pretty nice guy but once she finds out she is supposed to marry him she wants to be on a plane back to the US. After hearing about the big offer for the band Hannah gets her butt out of Japan and back to the US. Where Tamika has arranged for an apartment with him as her neighbor. Tamika is there on business (so he says) but Hannah finds all of this a bit sketchy.
Angie and Eric become closer and realize things they have in common and Spud is still being a jerk. After Jack finds out about Tamika and the marriage thing he decides that he should let Hannah go because Jack thinks that is what Hannah wants. So Jack and all of the band to be honest push her away.
It leaves off at a nice place in Jack & Hannah’s relationship with a bit of a twist involving Frank.
I liked this as much as book #1. I find it annoying when people make chooses for you and Jack and Tamika’s characters both did that to Hannah. Jack is not as possessive and overbearing as Tamika but he has other demons that he will be slaying in Book #3.
Hannah needs to figure out the mystery that is Jack with all his secrets and past laid out in front of her. I look forward to seeing all those secrets and seeing the outcome of Hannah’s & Jack’s relationship.

I’ve been waiting for more of Hannah and Jack since I finished Bad Boy Rock Star, and Bad Boy vs Millionaire did not disappoint. We pick up a little after the end of Bad Boy Rock Star and find Hannah in Japan to find out why she was summoned by her father, and to clear her head about everything with Jack.
Hannah feels that something is “off” when she meets up with her dad after a weird run in with Tamaki and now her dad’s taking her shopping for expensive clothes and she’s going to dinner with Tamaki and his father. Her dad is forcing her to spend time with Tamaki and even though he seems nice, her heart really isn’t in it.
When Hannah gets back to the US things are a little stressed with her and the band, and Tamaki follows her back. Basically putting Hannah in a love triangle she does not want to be in. Jack wants her, she wants Jack, Tamaki wants her, but she doesn’t really feel him, but is trying to do what she believes is right for her father. When Jack gives her an ultimatum, I’m sure she is going to do one thing, and I get pissed.
Not until the very end do we know how it all plays out, but there are times you like Tamaki and other times you want to slap him, you begin to wonder if he even cares about Hannah or if she’s just property to him.
Things are crazy in this book, and Candy J. Starr has you guessing every chapter where its going or what is going to happen. I loved getting Angie’s POV in this book as well. I loved having her insight into everything that was going on, and she’s just a great character, and I’m happy to know we are getting Angie’s story!
I can’t wait till the next book to see if Hannah truly is OK with her decision and how everything plays out. This book was awesome, and I could not put it down, I wish though we would have had some more Jack… I mean c’mon, I love, love, love him!!
If you haven’t picked up the Rock Star Bad Boy series, you should definitely add them to your TBR list, the stories so far are pretty amazing, and I’ll definitely be one clicking anything Candy writes.
Well.. after reviewing 3 times and forgetting to save it, this will be my fourth attempt at this frustrating, kill me now moment review.
After reading the book, this was my reaction:
Honestly I was really looking forward to this book because of that massive cliffhanger. It left me hanging and I was like 'Give me more.. please'... cry me a river. So obviously after the massive jaw dropping cliffhanger I wanted the plot to continue from that scene but unfortunately it didn't. However getting over the initial shock of the change in plot/scene/scenery it was a smooth ride and I really enjoyed how the plot progressed and we could definitely identify some of the relationships develop.
Some things which I really liked about this book is the Jack and Hannah moments in the book, I wanted to laugh, cry and scream with frustration (in a good way). Another aspect that I liked about this book is the puppy, I obviously grew overly attached to the puppy and it made me want one...*sigh* It also showed that Tamaki(new character) had a heart and made him more likable to the audience.
Overall I think Candy deserves a pat on the back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OMG!! I NEED THIS
I enjoyed this book even more than book one, but how the heck could Hannah be so blind as to what was going on around her! I think Hannah really loses her way in this book, she loses sight of what matters to her and seems to be drawn back to her old lifestyle.
Really loved the tension in the last half of the book, didn't love the ending, although it wasn't quite as cliffhanger as book one. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for book three as I enjoyed the book, loved the characters and I'm a nosy bugger and want to know what happens next!
Bad boy rocker Jack isn't doing so well in the romance department with Hanna. Now she flys to Tokyo to see her dad and he introduces her to Tamaki. Little does she know that her father is using her as a bargaining chip to get in the good graces of Tamaki's father. Now she is expected to marry him so her father can get back in the game. Jack is still playing games with her feelings and she has had enough! Love how this story ends. But can't wait to read more
Daddy's back and Hannah is trapped between loyalty to her father and the need to be independent and loved.
Fantastic continuation of this series. The one thing that irritates me is that I have no idea where this is taking place. Some of the language used tells me that this isn't an American setting, but the descriptions are so vague that I can't figure out where we're supposed to be.
I'm definitely looking forward to the third and final installment in this series.
This book starts with Hannah leaving after her run in with Jack in book one. She is now in Tokyo with her stupid manipulating father who once again is using Hannah. This time though he is trying to make her marry wealthy Tamaki which will make all his problems go away.
As Hannah befriends Tamaki because of her situation she finds a bond with him because of their lonely upbringing and terrible fathers but she is still hung up on Jack.
Once Jack and the band needs help then she jumps to help them even against the wishes of her father and displeasure of Tamaki and his father.
Once back in the states she falls prey to her old ways and has a convenient new neighbor...Tamaki. As she finds her way with the band and Jack, her friendship with Tamaki blossoms. Once Jack pushes her away one too many times she immediately jumps at the chance to marry Tamaki. WTF!!!!!
Jack is trying to do the right thing for Hannah but once him and their friends realize what is really going on with Hannah they jump at the chance to save her or is it too late????
I was starting to like Hannah more in this book then when one door closed and she thought the only next solution was to marry someone else she fell back into my bad books. :( Jack has always confused me with how he acts but here we get to find out why he does what he does and then we are left with another pseudo cliffhanger. Argh!!!! I just want my HEA plus I want her dad to finally get what is coming to him and now we have to wait for book 3 where hopefully we will find the conclusion for this misunderstood bad boy.
I loved this book and can't wait for the next one I mean I really really can't wait for it. Hannah is a beautiful trouble girl who grew up with money so when she lost everything in book one well her dad did and he disappeared. So when he ups and tells her to go to Tokyo she goes why not Jack was not giving her what she needs so go clear her mind but Jack is the kind of guy where you have one taste and it is no enough by a long shot. So when she meets good looking millionaire Tamaki gets in the picture she is in limbo in her life and he's the curveball in the story. Her dad wants her to do something a dad should ever do to a daughter. But getting to know Tamaki isn't a bad idea when she leaves she'll never see him again RIGHT. Angie is my favorite she's spunky doesn't take crap from anyone and became a friend to someone who needed a friend bad with no problem. No matter how stuck up Hannah looked and acted she never let up. But her getting close to Eric is a problem to her I don't know why but I will when I read the short story on Angie. This book was awesome and you have to read it.
I wasn't sure what to think at the start of this second instalment. When Hannah met Kamaki the Billionaire in Japan, she was always thinking about Jack the sexy Rock Star back home.
Her father was manipulating her like a puppet on a string and to me she was being really naïve by just going along with it all. I am all for family loyalty but this blatant deceit to obtain riches?! Hannah came across as not being able to make her own mind up. One minute she wanted to walk away from being rich after meeting her rich friends because of their abismall behaviour and the way they looked down on less fortunate individuals. The next thing she is contemplating a life of luxury by accepting Kamaki's marriage proposal. It was very frustrating watching her changing her mind every so often whilst Jack continued to fight his demons but I still found myself drawn in the story.
It was well worth reading despite all the frustrations caused by Hannah's behaviour. I liked Angie and Eric and was surprised at Stud's change of behaviour. There were some editing issues though.
Jack’s betrayal hits Hannah hard so she flees to Tokyo to meet her father. Her father has been organizing a deal which will include his daughter in an arranged marriage to a very wealth millionaire. Tamaki and Hannah have similar background but he does not set her body on fire as Jack. Tamaki comes to the US for a month for business and to get Hannah’s hand in marriage. When things get strained between Jack and the band, her father’s instance on her marrying Tamaki, she decides to accept his marriage proposal. She wants Angie at her engagement party, but Tamaki wants Hannah far away from all her friends. When they first met, he appeared to be caring and when Jack won’t give up without a fight, he shows his possessive nature. Tamaki is the person behind the new record company who wants to make sure they are signed and sent as far away from Hannah. The band realizes this and is rushing to catch Hannah before she leaves the country.
So I wasn't convinced by the first book, but since I can continue using the kindle unlimited service, I stuck with the series. We saw more of a change in Hannah this time, so I grew to like her more than despise her but I think she'll remain the most infuriating protagonist I've encountered. I don't understand her decisions to not divulge things to friends, not question motives/ comments that don't make sense, and her inability to act with any conviction. It doesn't really mesh with her personality to be a door mat, but somehow she repeatedly sets herself up for that role. I liked the other avenues that came up with this book, but I did get irritated with the juvenile tit for tat things, and Hannah being so gullible. Unfortunately I'm left unimpressed.
After finishing book 1 I immediately had to get book 2, that was a massive cliffhanger that I couldn't ignore.
I loved this book too, but Hannah became a little naive about some situations. I an see her feeling backed into a corner though. The way Jack was acting and pushing her away, if she lost the band she would have no friends, so why not just go where people wanted her--even if it was for the wrong reasons. Oh the plot that brings on so much anxiety!
There were several grammatical and editing errors, that became a bit distracting so I couldn't give this 5 stars, but the story itself is worth it!
Great sequel to Bad Boy Rock Star as it picks up pretty much straight after BBRS ends. I never understand how characters like Hannah can't see what is happening around them or continuing to let it happen. Stand up to the dad already.
I was confused about how in BBRS her dad said to go to Thailand yet she ended up in Japan? Plus her boyfriend of 4 years was Thomas yet in BBvsM it was Todd?
I liked the book, and got it immediately after I finished the first one. Read it in one day, just because I wanted to know the ending - but seriously there were times when I just wanted to scream at Hannah? There were parts where I asked myself "why, why is she doing this?". Anyway, I got through this just to find out that it's not really finished and have to wait for book 3.
Much better than the first! The story line is gaining momentum and can't wait to see how Jack; Hannah, Angie, Eric and Spud handle rock-n-roll.....these five are like little puppies; all scattered and trying to make it in the big leagues! Anxious to discover Jacks night terror issues and how he comes to deal with them....
First off, this is a series: Bad Boy Rock Star, Bad Boy vs. Millionaire and Bad Boy Redemption and they need to be read in order. That being said, while the books didn’t blow me away, I did end up enjoying all three. The story had some of the characteristics that I like to discover when finding a good book to read:
• One or more HOT alpha bad boy • Hot chemistry between heroine/hero • Good story line • Danger • Secrets • Good backup characters (kinky family and/or friends) • Action, angst and drama
The story line was a good one but I did have some difficulty with Hannah at first because I found her to be annoying. Then I just let the story flow and began really liking the way it all panned out. I did enjoy watching Hannah grow up through her experiences.
Jack Colt was the ultimate bad boy Rock Star what-a-be (he is arrogant, full of himself and quite obnoxious). He hasn’t had an easy life growing up and the psychological scars are really deep. Jack is so hot and cold during this story you never really know which Jack you’re going to get next. It was interesting watching his character develop (although it seemed to take forever).
I liked that all the characters are important for this story as well. I really liked the friendship that developed between Hannah and Angie. Angie’s spunk and personality were really good for Hannah. Eric (the bassist) and Seth (the drummer) lend a lot to the story as well although we don‘t really get much into their backgrounds. I really liked Eric-Mama).
Overall, the books were entertaining and a nice read.
Can this story get any hotter. Not only has Hannah fled from Jack after she found out about his deal with spud. But her father wants to marry her off to some one she doesn't even know. A chance to have her old life back or stay with the life she created all on her own. Not only is her father in huge debt but she is focused to chose between this rich husband or her bad boy rockstar.
things are settle down between Hannah and Jack with is causing issues to arise in the band. Tamaki Hannahs maybe future husband starts to cause trouble by introducing himself as her fiancé to every one. when Tamaki meets Jack the is tension building up which causes problems between Hannahs feeling. She wants Jack but can't trust him enough to make the decision. But Hannah doesn't know if she wants Tamaki as they form a bound not love or emotions but an understand of what its like to be without a mother.
will Hannah make the right choice or will it back fire on herself and lose every think. This is a must read. Not every think is what it seems espically Tamaki and Jack
I felt that the events that took place in this installment were completely unnecessary. The love triangle ( I use that term loosely ) was super annoying. She didn't even try to make the other guy appealing at all. And the fact that Hannah still liked him even a little after learning everything about him is so ridiculous. This book was just super annoying to me. I really liked the first and the last book but this I just can't rate any higher. I actually originally rated it two stars but had to bring it down to one because the only thing I liked about this book was that Jack was not taking Hannah's shit.
I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one . . . fell very, very flat. First, there was absolutely no contest between the two men supposedly involved in a "love triangle" since the millionaire has 0 redeeming qualities. I have no clue how anyone could fall for him.
Second, the book is supposedly American, but the characters keep talking about buying "petrol" which is rather unAmerican. It's not a big deal really, but it threw me right out of the story every time it happened.
Probably won't read any more books in the series because of this one.
WOW, tried something out of my normal reading shelves. This is a set that I highly recommend. Each and every book kept me involved and fighting for each and everyone of her characters. I won't post much more because if I do I would end up spoiling the book for others keep up the awesome books Candy Starr. They are well loved!
I'm hooked! There were some unexplained changes in the story from book 1 but this definitely kept my interest. I would have like a little more "adult" content but it is a decent book. I'm starting to like the rockstar love affair a little more now. Look forward to starting book 3 now.
The story of Hannah and Jack has been very frustrating at times. However, they really do seem made for each other. Both are strong and opinionated. Can't wait to read the next book as more of the history unfolds.
This part of the series had its highs and lows. It dragged a little in the middle, but picked up by the end. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
