Pushed beyond her limits, one question Does she possess the mettle to overcome a battle-born legend? Or will the echoes of bygone eras reclaim a power the gods once lost? ~ Fans of Steve McHugh, Shayne Silvers, Cameron O'Connell, Faith Hunter, M.D. Massey, K.F. Breene, or Michael Anderle are going to love the Winds of Fury series, and the rest of the RKverse.
This was so good! Gripping, exciting, this pulled you in from the get go and did not let up. Molly is an incredible character, strong and totally kick ass as she dives into the investigation to protect the ethereal weapon. Action, adventure, danger and drama this had me on the edge of my seat.
Eclipsed Son is the second in a series, but functions well as a standalone.
The world of dieties, immortals, shifters, and fantasy creatures is real. They coexist with humans. A "retired" warrior turned dance teacher, Molly Padia just can't stay out of trouble. When shifters go missing, artifacts are being fought over, and the mortal police are in over their heads, she steps in to deal with immortal legends.
I found myself thoroughly enjoying a very different spin on what would happen if all the myths and legends were real and in present day. I've read so many takes on this, I didn't think there was room for something new. I am happy to report I was wrong. "Eclipsed Son" is a wonderful romp through multiple mythos, bringing us into fight clubs, crime scenes, and battles galore. Nothing is quite as easy as it seems, yet the complications thrown at the MC are believable and flow well. I highly recommend this book if you like fight scenes, some thought behind plot, and a more uncharacteristic look at our legends.
I'm off to get Book 1, just to spend more time in this universe!
I did receive an advance copy of the book to review, but this review is voluntary.
Lights, camera, action! From word one, Molly and all the rest of our favorites from the previous book, are engaged in the kinds of glorious chaos and carnage that we have come to expect from RK Verse. A dull moment to be able to settle down from the last book? I think not! I love that it jumps right in from where we left off as if the last book never ended.
One of the things I love best about Molly is that she has lived for centuries yet she is still humble. She doesn't believe herself better than anyone else just because she has the years to back it up. She's the epitome of the human spirit. She's resilient, full force, hardworking, unrelenting, and when challenged, she will rise up just to show you you're wrong. I also love that though she's tough as nails she's also sensitive when needs be and has a true heart of compassion.
The story is fantastic and is futuristic mixed in with touches of the mythical and the mystical. You're never left bored because it is full of wonderfully hidden surprises and lots of super climatic fights, and some awesome new visitors!
I highly recommend this book especially if you're into butt kicking warrior women, snarky leprechauns, and assorted other fantastical beings; then this book is for you!
This second book in this series is an adventure for sure. Molly's Amazonian nature helps her get through this series of events. This is a good Paranormal story with great characters, warriors and weapons of the Gods. I Loved It! No Spoilers!.

This is an enjoyable, entertaining PNR/UF with drama, action, adventure, magical artifacts/weapons, and PNR characters vying for power. The MC is defined, determined, and engaging.

C. L. Brown is smoking with this 2nd book of the Winds of Fury series. Brown has demonstrated an excellent approach to character development and world building as well as an awesome imagination.

Received as an ARC, I am leaving my honest review. This storyline is full of action and suspense. Who are the victims and what do they have to do with the Gods Apollo and Zeus. There is magic, elemental powers, a brewing romance and more waiting for the reader to get swept away. Beautifully written and fast paced the investigation and who done it theme will keep you gripped throughout the pages
This book is a fast paced full of action and has great characters. I enjoyed the witty dark humor and snarky banter it makes the characters relatable and sets the book up to be an enjoyable and entertaining read.
This is a fast action mystery and is a perfect beach read this summer. I give it a solid 3.8. While I am reading it it holds my attention. The characters are relatable with or without being supernatural. It definitely has dark humor and snark. I will most likely read more by this author if it comes my way.
I received this ARC from Booksirens and am happy to leave this review.
