A splendid introduction tot he trails. From your local trails to the deserts savannahs, it's all a trail. There are plenty of nutritional and pacing tips to take on board. No doubt trail running has its challenges but with this book you'll be primed to take these head on. The style is conversational and quirky. Furthermore, the part on compass navigation and map reading are great for a novice like myself. However, if you want to brush up in this area you'd be better off looking for a special book on the matter.
