The toughest, smartest, leather-clad hell-raiser ever to walk the post-Apocalyptic Earth is always on the prowl for adventure. But now Kat is chasing something very different - and far more dangerous. She's caught a killer virus and only one man has the cure - a scientist called Onyx who dwells in the deadly city of Inferno. If she's going to make it there alive, she'll need the help of Hades—the only man who’s ever touched her soul.
But he won't help her for free - he wants her body and her heart, and he's not going to settle for anything less than a lifetime of all that and more. Because once they enter the Inferno, they may never come out again.

I liked these books but didn't love them and I'm not even sure why exactly.
Finishing book one I didn't feel overly invested in the series but I did really want to read book two in hopes of a happy ending. I'm glad I did because I really love the relationship between Kat and Hades, it's paced perfectly and I just love their dynamic. That being said I still didn't connect with the series overall but I just can't say why!?
The world building seemed credible, the relationships genuine and the plot well thought out, and yet it just didn't connect, other than the relationship between Kat and Hades I just didn't feel invested. So although I'm happy I finished books one and two, and despite the ending leaving a possibility of something further I'm happy to draw a line under the experience were we are.
First, my copy of the book misspelled the author's name on the cover. I don't know why that makes me giggle, but it does. It had her listed as Viva Anna.
The story itself was fairly predictable, although there were a lot of gaps between background characters that leave me hoping there are other stories focusing on them. Something tells me that those stories don't exist, at least not yet. And I'm dying to know what the deal is with Onyx...
But this story has Hell Kat getting captured and taken to Inferno City, where she wanted to go anyway, so of course Hades follows close behind to save her... and that when all hell breaks loose.
The villain is somehow weak, but you have to love Kat and Hades and Onyx! that perfect cliffhanger at the end really gave me hope that the series will continue! \o/ It is impossible not to adore and admire Kat, she's fierce and vulnerable at the same time, while Hades is a perfect match. Some sex scenes were good, others not so much, but I guess I don't read this because of the sex scenes, it is really because you can't get enough of Hell Kat.
A fantastic book that answers some questions from the first book while moving the characters into more enthralling situations, developing relationships throughout the book and dragging the reader into the plot..... Well done Vivi Anna. Keep them coming.
Loved the characters and both books in the Hell Kat series. I wish there were more. Book books are racy and violent, so if that's not what you're looking for, go elsewhere. Fortunately, that's exactly what I was looking for. ;)
