I have been writing genre erotic romance since 1998. My love is science fiction mixed with erotic romance or just plain sweet romance. But I write mostly historical erotic romance, because well, ... that is what sells : )

I saw the blurb and was curious because I have never read a scenario like this before- a romance that develops when two people find their respective spouses are cheating on them with each other and then they fall in love. Naturally, this was not a sunshine and daisies romance story, but it was touching, bittersweet and sensual.

The story opens when Liv is out on an errand for her business and notices her husband's car parked near a business at which he would never shop. He's supposed to be out of town on business so she is curious enough to see what he's doing in case he broke down or something. Only the answer hits with great pain when she and Axel, the owner of the business, discover that their respective spouses are conducting an affair on them. She doesn't want to believe it, but seeing her husband lay out Axel's wife on the hood of his car and do what they did are too much to ignore.

Axel watches his wife welcome the attentions of Liv's husband and the anger and pain are only held in check when he witnesses Liv's pain. As much as he would like to cut loose on the two cheaters, he chooses to stay with Liv and they begin making plans. Together. What should have been devastating still hurts, but not completely because Axel and Liv find consolation and hope for something good when they get through this awful situation.

This one wasn't very long and it was pretty focused on the situation of going from discovery to done on a cheating spouse situation. For the most part, I was into the story. I liked both the main characters and loved to hate on the cheaters.

Little niggle was a word choice, 'whined', when the author had Liv or Axel display emotion in their voices. It has a negative vibe to me.. Now the cheaters, they could whine.

I was a little worried that because of the situation the romance would have an angry sex or rebound romance feel, but it didn't. Not that the two weren't tempted and it was part of the tension between them to resist that temptation. But in the end, they were two people who found common ground, a friendship, and a budding relationship in the middle of some ugliness.

The epilogue was a nice touch. It wrapped things up in a good way leaving no doubt what was on the horizon for Liv and Axel. My vengeful, bloodthirsty nature wanted dark, ugly things for their exes, but the author kept that all real. I guess I'll have to be satisfied with the fact that Liv and Axel are deliriously happy and the other two aren't.

To wrap it up, this curiosity read ended up being engaging even if the cause for the romance was an affair that broke their marriages. I would definitely recommend this one to Contemporary Romance fans who want a fast, slightly spicy read.

Blindsided by S. Anders

This short novella from S. Anders is about a two people who run into each other because their spouses are having an affair with each other. As they work together to gain solid proof of the affair the attraction and chemistry for one another grows.
This story was ok, nothing to write home to your mother about, but was decent. Although these characters found out their spouses were cheating they also were also being deceitful and lying to their husband/wife.

Minding her own business - driving back to work - Liv spots her husband's car parked on the side of the road. Deciding it would be great to surprise him and have lunch, she pulls over to find him. Only her husband is nowhere to be found...instead she finds Axel, the owner of the store. As the two begin to talk they realize their spouses are together. Yes, To-ge-ther, as in having an affair.

Liv can't leave she has to see the affair for herself. She pulls into the bar across the street and decides to wait for their return. Axel has the same thought and they end up waiting it out together. As they wait - sparks begin to ignite between the two.

What we thought was weird...how Axel and Liv were attracted to each other. Not just attracted because over the next few days they develop deep feelings for each other. They move in together and everything. It is way past let's get revenge on these fools. They are in love...awkward!!! Then on top of that they just watch their spouses make out in public. They should have ran out that bar and confronted them! But we do like the plan they came up with to show them they were busted. Only it doesn't quite work out that way...

One of our favorite moments...when they kidnapped Andrew (Liv's husband). OMG that was hilarious. 'Axel and Jax started pulling Andrew's pajamas off, until he was buck naked and Axel motioned for her to stop the car. Before she knew what the heck they could be doing, they pushed Andrew out the car with the bag still tied over his head.' Sorry but Andrew deserved more than that - he was a total jerk to Liv. He made her feel worthless in order to make himself feel more powerful.

Liv and Axel's chemistry was real. Those parts of the book make you remember how it was to be attracted to someone for the first time.

We think there are things that could have made the book better. It was too predictable. Maybe if Liv and Axel wouldn't have hooked up after their spouses were already sleeping together. Maybe if they would have got revenge on them and then ran into each other years later. Maybe...

So I saw the premise for this book and thought. It’s just so different I have to give it a go. It is a tricky subject matter to deal with and I wondered how the author would make us sympathetic to these guys. Coincidence has these two meeting and planting that seed of doubt about their partners. Of course the inevitable happens and they get proof that their spouse are cheating together. Their partners are non the wiser, however and Liv and Axel decide on a strategic retreat. They want evidence and legal advise before they rush in with accusations.

This is where the friendship comes into it. They are both in the same situation and bond over the betrayal. It would be easy to see any relationship these two as possible revenge or rebound move. Luckily S.Andre works hard to show growing feelings between these two. This isn’t cherry subject matter and while Axel and Liv’s relationship develops they have to deal with the fall out of failed marriages. So at times it was kind of depressing.

I did find some of the writing a little disjointed. Jumping from scene to scene with out leading into it. Plus some more detail in places would have been good, like what happens to their Ex’s? Do they stay together? It just felt like the book could use a little polishing to bring it all together. From what I can see this was S Anders first book. But really this author is something on an enigma.

I can’t find a lot of info on this author at all. Being her (or his) first book might explain the jumpiness to the story line. I have read the second book in the series and it had a similar feel and shortcomings. I was a bit disappointed, hoping that the author would raise their game just that little bit more. So close to a great book but not quite there. But then I read the first chapter to the third book coming out soon and thought, yep I will defiantly read that. So the fact I will read all three books must mean S Anders is doing something right?

ARC received from author Via Netgalley

I read this book in one sitting. I enjoyed it but there was something that i found very annoying, and had me confused at times. When Liv was talking to someone and or talking or mumbling to herself the author used" " so it always sounded like she was talking to someone even when she was mumbling to herself.

The story starts off with Liv seeing her husbands car who is supposed to be out of town parked near a shop, so she decides to go into the shop and surprise her husband, but when she walks into the shop it is clear that no one is in there apart from the gorgeous Axel who owns the shop and he tells her that he is alone in the shop and his wife just left, but just to make sure he goes out the back to check if her car is still there and its not. So they come to the conclusion that they are both in Axels wife's car TOGETHER. They both want to think that there is another explaination but its not looking that way. Curiosity gets the better of Liv as she goes to the bar across the street and sits there waiting to see what happens when her husband comes back to get his car. After a bit Axel ends up joining her as they need to see it for themselves. When Axel's wife finally pulls up the evidence is crystal clear.
So Liv and Axel come up with a plan, they need to get hard proof, so they will go back to their spouses and act like nothing has happened and till they can get the evidence. But the plan is easier said than done, i mean would you want to go home to a cheating spouse?
So Axel invites Liv to his aunts house to wait it out until they get the evidence. The attraction between the two is undeniable and even though they fight it even agreeing to be friends it doesnt last long. The sexual chemistry between them is off the charts. Let me say both Axel and Liv's spouses are a piece of work.

I felt the ending was a bit rushed but i still enjoyed this story.

It made me shudder!
A bit like watching a train collide with another. You are the unfortunate witness of an accident that will trigger chain reactions and pain.

While sitting alongside the characters in the bar, I've watched the two cheating lovers kissing through the eyes of the spouses, I really felt sorry for Axel and Liv. It was too realistically written to not make me react.

The story is about unfaithfulness with a happy ending. The author perfectly controlled the emotional pain, the betrayal, the questionings that goes through the mind of the characters who are not infidels. They are just unfortunate victims and the reader can only feel sorry for them.
The reaction of the cheating spouses while confronting with the proof is also a great time. They are true vilain and manipulatrice.

I did not expect to enjoy a story of adultery so much. Very well written!
The only thing that bother me was the desire which arises between Axel and Liv. Maybe it's brought too soon after such circonstances. Maybe it spoils the realism of the story. Because I am not convinced that a deceived partner wants to give its confidence as fast but it was a fiction, so who cares...

The romance is nice and hot. Perhaps it helps to digest the intense negative emotions described by the author.

A hard but enjoyable story.

About the book

It's a story about how two people are brought together because their other half happened to be cheating together behind their backs. They found out about the affair at the same time, together. And from that point, together, they tried to cope with the pain and betrayal caused by their spouse.

My review

This book does have its own moments whereby the words aren't just words but words that can make me feel what the characters are feeling. They were good, but it's just a random bit of the book. It's like everything is dull, then suddenly there's this glowing bit. But they don't last, as soon as it's over, it's back to dull again. It makes me want to say something I never see myself saying, it's that this book really seem unpolished.

The main characters of this book are actually very lovely people. They have many things in common. Reading them is like reading the same person but a different gender. It makes me think what's the possibilities of the same kind of person ending up together?

Personally, I think it's an okay read 'cause sometimes I just like me some romance people dub unrealistic. A short and okay light read.

This is a book about two people finding out they're spouses are cheating with each other and then the other two commit adultery. Talk about the blind leading the blind. I received this for free from netgalley for a review. I wasn't impressed but I did manage to finish the book. It seemed too simple an idea for me. Seems like lawyers would make the most money out of this. I thought that this was an okay read, but I probably wouldn't recommend this book to anyone given my low rating. I I only recommend books I think are un put down able. But I may read another by this author to see if she has gotten any better.

A very romantic sexy short story about Liv and Axle who find their spouses cheating on them with each other! pretty much right under their noses! I felt that the connection between the two of them was strong but the pace in which they moved into the relationship was kind of fast. I loved how well they treated each other and the chemistry they had was spectacular! it would suck to find out your spouse was cheating but to have the other persons spouse as a support system is wonderful! loved the sexy scene it was romantic and sensual! I give 4 beautiful stars!

Coming together

This was a different kind of love story then I am use to. Two individuals coming together after so much pain, but I totally enjoyed it. Axel and Liv lives become intertwined when they find out their spouses are having a affair. From proving they are right to confronting the cheaters, they support each other. All the while their feelings for each other grow. Once all is said and done, will they be able to start over with each other? Nice story and great writing! Looking forward to reading the other stories.

Although I have heard of people getting together with each other after their spouses have cheated however this story was not believable. The characters were not fully developed I had too many questions in regards to the character's personalities. Their actions did not match with what happened to them. They slow dance and kiss the first day they meet and discover their spouses are cheating. Too many things that didn't may sense.

I read the reviews on this book that had been sitting waiting in my TBR pile and had mixed feelings about reading it. I'm glad I read it. This is a sad but sweet story. I agree with some other reviewers that it would have been interesting to read what happened to their cheating spouses after the divorces.
I did a quick search for this author and found that she also writes under Shirl Anders. The theme of couples with cheating spouses seems to be a bit of a favourite for her.
