I read this book in one day could not put it down. I personally think that Belinda needs to be with Frankie he is her best friend and she loves him. Whats up on the handsome stranger appearing (Conner? Now he is leaving too. Mara needs to leave Belinda alone she has serious issues LOL My opinion may change cause I know there are more books it can't end like this Oh and doesn't Connor sound like Darius "I don't want you to dissapear" ooooh I don't know if I would trust him.

This was an interesting book. First we have Belinda, a young girl who doesn’t have a boyfriend even though her best friend is in love with her. Then we have Frankie, Belinda’s best friend who has grown up with her and is in love with her. Then we have the love triangle in young Conor. Now to confuse matters even more we must add in Mara, Darius, Tuket and things get really out of control. However the author manages the multiple storylines and multiple love triangles.

We immediately get sucked into the twists and turns of Mara’s life/death. Mara is a carrier spirit, and as such she is doomed to not be human until such time as she corrects why she is a carrier spirit. I don’t want to give away too much because if I even try I’ll give the whole book away and that’s no fun.

But truly things go from bad to worse with the love triangles. The book in my opinion would be way too confusing for a younger adult reader. So I would say this book is for the older teens/adults, because the twists and turns and plot changes are drastic and it takes a bit to get into the flow of it but by chapter 4 or 5 you’ve got the swing of the flow of the book and things go dramatically better from that point.

I personally wasn’t happy with the ending of the book. But that’s me personally and has nothing at all to do with the way it was written. I felt like it was missing something, closure I suppose. However all in all it was a good read and very enjoyable.

I would recommend this book to anyone interesting in paranormal and I applaud the author for the originality of the ideas she has come up with.

This novel was completely unique and a hundred percent awesome! I loved every minute of it, and the best part, in my opinion, was the creation of the spirit realm. It’s such a cool idea, and I loved the immense detail Welti pays to the creation of this alternate world we cannot see. Getting to know Mara’s previous identities, as well as those of some of the other characters we meet from the spirit realm, was interesting, and I love novels that captivate readers through the slow reveal of identities and motivations. And this is exactly what Welti through her well-formed plotline.

Welti’s vast ability to create amazing characters also really helped make the book. I completely fell in love with Belinda, Frankie, Conor, and Mara. The idea of a spirit realm wreaking havoc on their lives highly intrigued me, and getting to see their intertwined romances play out was a lot of fun.

My favorite character, by far, though, was Frankie. He’s come a very long way, and seeing his many changes throughout the novel was really neat. He is a lover, a romancer, a surfer, a best friend… and I adore him. Though there are some terrible things brought to light throughout the story, Frankie is a good soul, and he really made an impression on me, even though I wasn’t always on his side as I read. Overall, the characterization and unique situation of carrier spirits make this a must read.

4 STARS

It is a tangled romance between two guys and a girl who are possed at times.
I do admit thier were times in the novel that I got twisted and lost for a short time.
Its a very clean romance.
Belinda is a 16 year old girl who's best friend is Frankie.
carrier spirit Mara posses at time Belinda she has been trying for over 300 years to get back to a human body of her own.
Mara helps Belinda to meet Conor 17 year old who goes to private school. Mara takes over Belinda when things get aukward for her.
Frankie is 16 year old surfer. He has been friends with Belinda for ever and they went on one date but belinda was afraid of losing his friendship. Frankie is jealous of Conor.
Mara recongizes that Frankie was a carrier spirit that killed her boyfriend 100s of years ago and has earned a body back. She wants Belinda to drop him even as a friend. She is pushing Conor for Belinda.
I got tangled in the story and cared about them. lots of drama and some action.
I was given this ebook in exchange of giving honest review from Librarything.

This was a great read! I loved how T.S. Welti put her spin on spirits when one dies. The romance in this story was sweet, I found myself smiling whenever Connor touched, smiled or kisses Belinda ever so gently. Frankie's character was great, I loved the relationship between Belinda and him. They were best friends, but so much more. I haven't completely decided who I would want for Belinda to end up with, but I really liked the chemistry between her and Connor. I hope to hear more from this author, I really enjoyed reading Parallel Spirits, and I hope there is more to this story because that cliffhanger at the end... Whoa!

“They say love is blind, but they’re wrong. Love is the harshest light shined on every insecurity, every weakness, every broken promise.” This is the opening for T. S. Welti’s “Parallel Spirits and the wonderment of the author’s words continue throughout the story.
Welti’s talent shines through each and every page. It is brilliantly written and it has a unique storyline. Any reader who enjoys a great story, whether they are a paranormal fan or not, surely will enjoy “Parallel Spirits”. I look forward to seeing more from T. S. Welti in the future.

This book was far from the normal supernatural/love story. I loved the way different people and times come together to make a story. The friendship between Frankie and Belinda is the kind that true love is made from. How she will ever choose between Frankie and Conor is beyond me. I can't wait to read what happens next, as they all move on to the next phase in their lives. The end of the book truly left me wanting to start the next right away.

A very good clean romance novel with a twist. If you think having two guys fighting for the love of a girl is complicated wait until you read this one.

This story takes the reader into the mortal and the spirit world in a complicated love story. Love is not so simple and finding it might be worth more than a soul.

I truly enjoyed reading this book.

What a lovely book with many twists and turns that aren't expected and an interesting take on the spirit world. I enjoyed to see the different relationships in Belinda's life grow. The end of the book was happy, but not the usual sappy kind. I can really recommend this book.

I received this book free from the author through my Goodreads book club, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. All thoughts and conclusions are my own.
Belinda and Frankie are best friends, and have been best friends since they were children. As they've gotten older, their relationship has changed - but neither is really sure exactly how. Enter the carrier spirit Mara, who invades Belinda's body on a quest to make her fall in love with newcomer Conor; all in order to help Mara regain her human spirit and attain a human body. But what if Belinda's destiny is to fall in love with Frankie/Tuket?
If I could give .5 stars, this would be a 4.5. What an amazing story -- definitely a page-turner, and a powerful one, at that. The only reason it didn't get a full 5-star rating was because there were parts that I just couldn't quite understand; I wish there were more clarity around the whole in-and-out-of-body-thing. It was difficult to keep the characters straight, i.e., Mara = Lily = Belinda; Tuket = Samuel = Frankie; Darius = ?? (still not sure I've got it all right, and I even tried to write it down!).
The feel, sounds, smells, and visuals of the beach were beautifully rendered by author T.S. Welti, and it was shockingly easy to imagine myself there, watching Frankie surf in the sunlight.
Hoping there will be a follow-up story to this -- the ending left some delightful unanswered dilemmas!!

I really liked the premise of this book as it is a subject that I have thought about before. What happens to a spirit that has been shattered or torn from their body too soon and unable to make its way back. I am a big fan of T.S. Welti's work I really enjoy her writing style, her charecters are flawed and relatable. I enjoyed the interactions between Mara and Belinda as they grow to know each other and reveal Mara's intentions, fears and insecurities. The realationship between Belinda and Frankie is complicated they have been best friend forever and yet there is more under the surface, Belinda doesn't know which is more important to explore it or to hold onto the love that they share and keep their friendship intact. Then there is Connor and Darius and what a mess that is, poor Connor doesn't know up from down, I kinda want to know his side of the story and the cluster of emotions going on on his end cause i'm betting it would be pretty interesting. Welti isn't a fan of happy endings and while she didn't kill anyone off she kinda left me feeling mixed emotions about the ending, (a) she could be setting us up for a squel or (b) she is just leaving it up to the reader to imagine how things proceed in the future neither riding off into the sunset to live happily ever after but also not abandoning all hope of a blooming relationship. Great job!

Parallel Spirits was a book that had me turning pages to try and work out what was happening, in all the right ways. There was some mystery surrounding some of the characters that is revealed as you read, with certain "carrier spirits" existing hundreds of years before the main characters were born and the order all of this is revealed in. All of the interactions between living and spirit, between friends and between romantic partners were enjoyable to read.

My biggest complaint here was the fact that the ending seemed to have just sort of died off somehow. I actually did wonder at one point if my preview copy actually ended in the middle of somewhere it shouldn't. There was maybe an attempt at closing things up, but the conclusion was really more like snapping something in half and trying to round off the sharp edges.

Overall, an enjoyable, quick read.

Note: Though this book was a free gift from the author, the content of my review was in no way influenced by the gifting. The book speaks for itself and my review would have been worded just this way even if I'd gone out and bought it. I also give bonus points for Text To Speech enabling on Kindle format.... but that also wasn't a factor in the above review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very original, and i loved the different ideas. I did get a little bit lost a few times, but i think by the end everything was clear. I really loved Frankie and his relationship with Belinda. Frankie and Belinda have been best friends for years, and I think it's pretty obvious that they could be a great couple. I felt both pity and annoyance with Conor. I definitely think Belinda and Frankie should be together, so i was often a bit annoyed with Conor and Mara for getting in the way, but i also really enjoyed their parts because it made for a very exciting story. I was a little bit disappointed with the ending, because as I've said, I'd like Frankie and Belinda to be together, but I think i would have been more satisfied if she had chosen Conor completely and not just because of the situation with Frankie. I really hope there will be another book, because this one was really good, and I'd like to have a more concrete ending.
Overall, this book kept me glued to the pages until the end, and I've given it four stars.

I received this book from the author free of charge in a goodreads giveaway and I am so glad I did! I love the premise of the story- it's so unique and I give her ”mad props” (lol) for thinking up something like that. The characters were dynamic, flawed, and totally relatable. There were plenty of twists and turns that I SO did not see coming and I loved that. The only issue I had with this book is the ending. Now, let me clarify what I mean here- I am fully aware that sometimes what you want to happen at the end of a book is just not going to happen. But with this book it felt like I was missing the last chapters. I just feel like there are so many issues that were left unresolved. That being said- I did love this book, and maybe there could be a sequel to ease my suffering(?) ;-)

Quick and Dirty:

-Good pace, easily get caught up in the story.

-Interesting characters and interactions - love quadrangle...of sorts.

-HORRIBLE ending, not like "oh I didn't like how it ended", more like the author took a butchers cleaver and said I want to end it....HERE and added in a few sentences at the cut off just so it HAD an ending.

Long and Wordy:

Parallel Spirits by T.S. Welti= Waste of Time

The story was intriguing but the author left too many holes in her story and too many things unexplained. Add the abrubt ending and I feel like I wasted my time reading this. :(
