Lovely read about the Irish culture and history and foods and upbringing.

While this book was quite informative, it was also disappointing. I was surprised, being a children's book, it contained information about murders, people being buried alive, and the making and drinking of alcohol. One tidbit I did enjoy was learning the origin of the steeplechase race.
