Rate this book
Have you ever wondered why some people are so good at arithmetic?

In school they rarely need calculators, preferring to simply glance at an addition or subtraction and write down the answer.

Later in life, they impress co-workers and employers alike with their rapid math skills. They race through math tests, impress employers at job interviews, and get the career they want.

So what's the secret? Are these "lucky folks" born
mathematicians?

Maybe. But probably not.

More likely they were taught how to calculate mentally.

You see, like most skills, what appears to be magic or "natural genius" is nothing more than technique.

And with the right lessons presented in the right order, just about anyone can learn the ancient art of "mental math" and acquire confident calculation skills.

In fact, mental calculation is easier to learn than you might believe. Because although "mental math" sounds complicated, all you really need is a few basic principles.

This simple guide from veteran math teacher Kenneth Williams will introduce you to twenty easy methods you can use to calculate in your head today.

The methods are perfect for beginners and improvers. Each lesson takes only a few minutes to complete. And with the fun quizzes along the way, you will prove to yourself how easy it is to calculate in your head - without a calculator.

What's more, you'll feel no mental strain or pain either. That's because Kenneth's methods are so natural, you'll wonder why you weren't taught this way before.

There's some good calendar and time calculating techniques at the end. Overall, some useful ideas, and others that I found easier doing other ways. A mixed bag of utility.
