It's surprisingly hard to find books aimed at heads of marketing - CMOs and VPs. I know because I am one. Ellet covers topics that are especially important for marketing execs coming into a company. How to establish relationships. How to measure people and make changes to the team. The hard stuff. I've recommended this book to a bunch of my peers, so consider that my highest regard for the content.
I appreciated the structure of this book, the action steps outlined, and the anecdotal examples Ellett used throughout.
As the Director of Marketing for a small B2B service company, my situation is a little bit different (there’s not a large team for me to mobilize, for example), but I still found this helpful as I finish up my first 6 weeks. I can see both where I’ve done things right and where there is opportunity for growth as I head into the next 6 weeks.
