★★★★★! The Billionaire Banker, book 1 of 5. Aloof Billionaire Blake Barrington gets more than he negotiated for with new mistress Lana!

“Do you want it flowery or straight.’
She bites her lip. ‘ Straight.’
‘I wanted to fuck you senseless from the moment our eyes met.’
‘And the flowery version?’
‘Now I think about it, there is no flowery version. It is what it is.”

Books in series should be read in order:
Book 1: The Billionaire Banker - Blake & Lana
Book 2: Forty 2 Days - Blake & Lana
Part 2.1: Exposed - Blake & Lana
Book 3: Besotted - Blake & Lana
Book 4: Seduce Me - Julie’s story
Book 5: Love’s Sacrifice - Blake & Lana

Thanks to my friend Lana I was not only made aware of this book, but I received ARCs for book 1 & 2.

The Billionaire Banker is the story of 19 year old Lana Bloom. She had been brought up in what is referred to as the “council estate” a poor neighborhood outside London. And for the last 10 years she has managed to take care of her mom who is suffering from stage 4 cancer while going to school and most recently working as a secretary through a temp agency.

In the opening of story she has gone to dinner with her boss to see if she can work out a deal to sell her virginity to pay for her mom’s break-through cancer treatment in the US.

Billionaire banker, Blake Law Barrington, from one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in the world spots her and though he’s jaded and has had his fair share of stunning women he finds himself taken by her. He overhears the negotiations and following a set of events end up paying double to have her as his mistress for three months.

Lana is given a make-over and moved into a luxury apartment. We are treated to sizzling sex courtesy Blake Barrington.

Blake is used to a pattern of meeting women, sleeping with them, getting bored and moving on... But with Lana he is finding himself torn; enjoying her company and feeling drawn to and protective of her. He starts acting on these emotions, but then catches himself so there’s a lot of hot-cold from him. Lana is foremost concerned about her mother, but finds herself falling for Blake only to get hurt by his aloof and secretive demeanor.

But their time is limited and thus their story gets more complicated with Lana trying to fit into the lifestyle of the rich and influential with hints of dark sinister forces, secret societies and much more…..

“I’d rather be a whore than a banker.’
‘That’s handy then. I’d rather be a banker who buys a whore.”

BLAKE LAW BARRINGTON: 29 years/banker/heir to fortune/$$$$/dark brown hair/blue-grey eyes/6’2”.

Blake Law Barrington is my kind of a hero, the larger-than-life kind! His family name has afforded him respect, success and wealth beyond belief but also caused him to be jaded and aloof. He is captivating, commanding and ruthless. But with Lana we see hints of a softer side, caring even possibly some emotions behind the façade…

Seven words to describe Blake: Ruthless, in-control, enigmatic, elusive, self-assured, reflective and captivating.

“…he seems devastatingly, impossibly handsome, but so aloof and unreachable that it is almost as if she has her nose pressed against a glass window and is looking in at something she can never have.”

 photo mfbysb_zps52b13c00.gif

LANA BLOOM: 19 years/temporary secretary/black hair/blue eyes/5’6”.

Lana Bloom is exactly what Blake needs. Though she doesn’t know and neither does he. Let’s see if they can put it together in book 2.

Seven words to describe Lana: Unassuming, endearing, smart, caring, vulnerable, charismatic and interesting.

“That is how I feel about you. You are my doll. I like the idea of dressing you the way I see fit. I want you to look good. Besides, I like that every stitch on your body has been paid for by me.”

The Billionaire Banker ends with a major cliffy but no worries, just open up book 2, Forty 2 Days for the semi-conclusion to their story.

Enticing plot! Excellent story-telling! To die-for hero! Compelling heroine! I am itching to stick this book on my 6-star shelf! Let’s see what happens in book 2.

“When our time is over, I must return you the way I found you, pure and innocent.”

4.5 Completely Captivating Stars

My world is ugly and corrupt.   It only looks good from the outside. When our time is over, I must return you the way I found you, pure and innocent. Let me hide a little while longer in your world.

WOW
I am completely blown away, utterly captivated, and totally sucked in by this story.
Now be honest, you probably took a look at that cover, blurb, and title and thought to yourself that this is yet another mostly unoriginal take on the extremely overdone plot line, right? A rich and jaded hero meets the naive virginal heroine, They have some sex, they face some obstacles, they have some more sex, and then it all gets wrapped up in a pretty little bow. Well that is precisely what I thought going into this. I couldn't have been more wrong.

There were a few Britishisms that I wasn't familiar with, and the writing style took some getting used to, but once I did I simply couldn't put this book down. You know how sometimes you read a book and you just know that this author was meant to write? Georgia was that author for me. She is able to take words and weave them together into an intricate story that almost has a poetic and lyrical feel to it. I was completely enraptured in the story, the writing, and the characters. But enough of my gush mode...

What would you do if you were desperate? If the mother you love more has less than a few weeks to live due to stage 4 cancer? If you knew that all that keeps you from the potential cure with an unorthodox doctor is a few thousand dollars that you just don't have? Would you sell the only thing you have to barter with, you body? That is precisely what Lana Bloom does.

Having grown up in poverty, luck doesn't seem to be on her side. Particularly when the first person to court her proposal is a sadistic man with some extremely brutal tastes. But when Lana catches the eye of the very rich and even more jaded Blake, she sees the answer to her problems.

Blake comes from old money. There is nothing and no one that he cannot have, buy, or fuck. Life has left him cold, brutal, and jaded. But when he sees the young beauty at the restaurant he knows that he has to have her...at least until he gets bored with her.

The arrangement? 3 months of having her however, whenever, and wherever he wants. The price? One hundred thousand pounds.

I was afraid that Lana being 19 and innocent, she would grate with me with her naivety. But while she may have been innocent and naive, it was in a very endearing way. I soon found myself forgetting that she was only 19. I found myself growing to like her the more I read. She had a hard time coming to terms with the arrangement, and Blake wasn't exactly flowery or romantic with his explanations.

I also found myself getting more and more invested in their connection. The pacing was perfect. There was no insta-anything (well maybe insta-lust on Blake's behalf). Their relationship wasn't smooth or perfect. The more I read about Lana ad Blake, the more I grew to like them.

The steam level was perfect. It wasn't overdone but just the perfect amount. And the way it was written was equal parts erotic and beautiful in a very effortless way.
Suddenly like a whip passion curls and races through her body, surprising her with its ferocity. It erupts in a strangled cry that surprises even him. He looks at her possessively, proudly, as if he has branded her. He is the owner of her lust.   In his hands and mouth and body he holds her pleasure. He said he wanted to fuck her senseless and he does. His pace becomes punishingly hard and fast, but she loves the pounding. Something is billowing through her; it feels as though it could bring some kind of release. When it comes it is a riotous, glorious tidal wave that rips through her.   She becomes one with him, one body, one mind, one soul.

Before long feelings begin to enter the equation for Lana. As much as she knows that it's a dead end and will only lead her to heartbreak, she can't help but fall for Blake.

What I truly loved is how realistic the turnaround for Blake and his feelings was. He was cold and brutal in the beginning, but ultimately things begin to get complicated when he finds his feelings taking a drastic turn.

This book was so much more than a simple story of billionaire falling for the innocent virgin. It had a dark undercurrent to it which was essentially what fully captured my attention. I spent the whole book waiting for the other shoe to drop...and when it did...WOW.

Was it perfect? No. There were moments where the transitions weren't clear and I found myself getting confused about who's POV I was currently reading. But this was a small speck that I soon found myself completely forgetting. It's not often that I find a book that keeps me up all night, unable to put it down until I know what happens next.

I am blown away that this is Georgia's debut contemporary romance novel.

Was it steamy? Hell yes.
Was it overdone and oversexed? Not even close.
Is it a book I'd re-read? In a heartbeat
Was there a cliffhanger? Yes. But luckily book 2 comes out Jan 24, and the author has let me know we can expect a HEA for Blake and Lana there.

This book took me out of my 2 week book slump. I simply cannot recommend it enough. Georgia, dear, I am kicking myself for not reading this sooner. I will be stalking your upcoming releases and you have completely won me over my jaded little heart.

Now I am done with my fangirling episode. All I can say is read this book! Read it! Hopefully you'll love it as much as I did. And I thank you

I was thinking about this book last night and I think my original review might have been a bit unfair... this is a debut author and I know debut authors have a tough time out there.... so went through bits and pieces again. Yes, I might have been nitpicking a bit but much of the writing was fairly ok. I am upping my rating! I will definitely go into the next book with an open mind.

I saw the reviews and some of them were good. But I was reading a different book to every one else…. Yes I did read FIFTY back in the day.... maybe that is where books like this should stay ... back in the day!

With every fiber of his being he aches for her

Did she take every bad cliché written and throw it together into this book

We had …

The brooding billionaire
The innocent, woman coming from a working class area – Kilburn, c’mon

The bad dress sense and shoes
The leering man who wants her first
The gay best friend
The brother figure who has done good and got himself out of Kilburn to study
The sick mother
The Contract she has to sign
The overbearing father
The snooty brother
The old country manor
She was waxed all over
Bought every item of clothes imaginable
Marmalade from Harrods,

Then throw in a few intellectual remarks…

Time’s march is a web of causes and effects and asking for any gift of mercy, however tiny it might be, is to ask that a link be broken in that web of iron. No one deserves such a miracle…..

They visited every cliché ridden destination in London and nearby…

THE CLOAK AND DAGGER BALL … or whatever it was.
Mention of Peodophilia
Victoria’s mother who sits reading romance, oblivious to the world around her
Mad Mary or was it Bad Mary

The Britishness that was Hobnobs and chip butties ….
His name – Blake Law Barrington

This is his mate, he owns her, he has paid for her

… he thinks how very fetching she looks…

She wants his seed in her…

And as for the last 20% - I thought I had landed straight into Downton Abbey ..

“Daddy, I’ve done something rather awful.”

I know there was a bit of a twist at 80% but seriously did anyone else pick up on all this stuff? I am supposed to read book 2. Maybe I should and see if it really was, as Blake himself would say a load of “corny nonsense”!

All that was missing was the drunken Irish father… then again they lived in Kilburn, so maybe that was implied….

I really hate giving low ratings but, I'm sorry, this one did not do it for me.

3.5 Blake Barringotn Stars

"There is no flowery version."

I was drawn like a magnet to this book, it lured me in...Why???
Well, it's about a rich, suited, powerful man and, most alluring to me, an agreement.... I was sold... I wanted to read... I love this kind of story!!! It has the power to press all my buttons!

“Just don’t fall for him." I was screaming inside, yes please!!! Fall for him!!!

Lana Bloom lives on the council estate... She's working class, poor, and desperately needs money to help her very poorly mum, she'll do anything. She'll do the unthinkable.

This is where our rich, beyond your wildest imagination, Blake Law Barrington comes in. He's extravagantly wealthy with an abhorrently powerful family who'll do whatever it takes to keep up appearances and have their heart's desires.

I wish
The Billionaire Banker held my attention; the story and Blake kept me interested to the end but I wish some things had been different.....

I wish I’d seen further inside Lana's head when she was giving herself and I wanted more emotion there and to feel empathetic towards her.

There’s a lot of description with regard to characters actions which gave me a clear picture of what they were doing and where they were but I wish there'd been more emotional descriptions. I needed to feel more of an emotional connection to the characters. I'm a very emotional reader

The writing style didn’t work so well for my personal taste. There were a lot of short clipped sentences and a lack of contractions which I think maybe affected my overall enjoyment and connection to the story.

The parts I loved!!!
The sex is fantabulous!!!! Hot!!! HOT!!! HOT!!! Smoking!!!

“He is the owner of her lust. In his hands his mouth and body he holds her pleasure.”
"A pleasure that is at once sweet and piercing courses through her body."

I adored when they first got together and the agreement was set. It gave me the book tingles.

I love the pretty woman theme to the story. It's age old but it never fails to make me swoon and dream, and make my heart melt.

I like the way the author delves into the British class system.

I love the glimpses of Blake's character, his history, his preferences. Glimpses of what may come in the next book. Promises of an exciting intriguing second read.

I'm expecting this story to get better and better, I'm already half way through the next book. Yes reader despite my wish list, I could not wait to start the next book where the writing style is flowing better for me, and the story's becoming very intriguing, and sexy as hell!!!

If you like the sound of 'my loves' then sample this book, you may enjoy the ride and you'll get to experience the magnificent Blake Barrington. Enjoy ♥

I cannot. I genuinely tried for the sake of my previous positive experience with the author's books and all that is good and holy but I cannot. Dnf at around 40%
🔞🔞🔞

So up to the gist. The heroine makes a decision to sell her body in order to save her mother and pay for the treatment for her decease. N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶b̶e̶f̶o̶r̶e̶😑

I must admit that no matter how open minded I usually tend to be (or claim to be) when it comes to the content of books I read, it still makes me shudder to even think about a woman who puts a tag price on her body and, most importantly, about a man who is willing to make such a transaction, let alone view this shit in a romantic light. Especially when it's written the way it was written in this story where her mother's condition seemed more like a fake ass excuse for the girl' subsequent whoring herself to the "hot" asshole of a hero than a horrible tragedy and struggle it is.

But what gave me the hugest eye roll in my eye rolling history turned out to be her mother's reaction. You would think the heroine was bound to at least entertain the idea of using her very few and lonely AF brain cells and coming up with a tad plausible explanation for how she managed to earn this big ass sum of money all out of blue in such a short period of time (to ease her sick mum's worries, you know, and NOT RAISE suspicions).

I guess I made a terrible mistake by overestimating the number of her still functioning brain cells because she couldn't conceive anything better than "yesterday I met a very rich hot guy who cannot wait to b̶e̶c̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶s̶u̶g̶a̶r̶ ̶d̶a̶d̶d̶y̶ give me fifty thousand pounds for the sake of lurve. It's not what you think, NAH, it is pure unadulterated love at first sight. If you must know, he is ready to count stars with me and kiss the asphalt I walk on"

Me:
¿🗿🗿🗿? Jesus Christ, girl, are you fucking with me?

But SHH you ain't seen anything yet, sooooo

Her mum's reaction:
"Is there ANYTHING you don't tell me, young lady?"
Suspicious eyes. The end.

*insert the sound of a mobile phone crashing down on the marble floor*

ARE YOU FOR REAL, PEOPLE?

*insert a hysterical laugh*

Urgh, by the time this dumb girl signs the contract with an idiot without even reading it first I already felt like I somehow failed myself by subjecting my poor eyes to the torture.

Are these characters fighting with each other for primacy on who is gonna make the dumbest decision of their lives ?

And the last scene I had displeasure reading was ironically their 1st bam-bam in the ham
scene in which the quivering virgin (of course) gets overly aroused just imagining how the asshole (who calls her his "buy" and treats her like his not so worthy possession) and whom she has known for approximately 2 days is gonna fuck her in all her holes.

This "book" is the most disgusting bullshit I've read in a long time👍👍👍

Lana needs cash pronto. Her mother is dying from end-stage cancer and she needs funds to send her to the United States for cutting edge treatment. She lives with her mother in a very poor neighborhood in England and all she has to offer is her body..
.

When Blake sets his eyes on a stunningly beautiful young woman in an upscale cafe dressed in shabby cheap clothing, she stands out. Not only in her poor choice of clothing but in her stunning beauty. He overhears her negotiating with a seedy ex-rugby player his bank does business with. She's poor but way too good for this guy. Did she seriously just offer up herself for 50,000 pounds? Being from one of the wealthiest aristocratic families in England, money is no issue. He doubles the offer...90 days, she will belong to him for everything his heart (and body) desires. There's just something about her. He can have anyone but..

..he is seized by an unthinking, irresistible call to hunt. To possess. To own her.

When I first started the book, I had a distinct FSoG feeling coming on. The bones of the story are very similar yet different in many other ways. Blake is the typical cold aloof rich man using Lana for his selfish needs but it doesn't take long for this young innocent to start unraveling his protective walls. Feelings cannot come into play as his life was planned before he was born. She has no part in his world...90 days is all they get.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Lana is truly young and innocent but not weak like other heroines. Blake can say very hurtful things to her but it almost seems like he's forcing himself to be that way. She sees two sides to him and the soft caring side is quickly taking over her heart.

The Billionaire Banker sucked me in from the start. I basically read it in one sitting. It has the angsty tug of war of emotions I've grown to love in contemporary romance. The plot is one we've seen variations of over the years but it kept my interest from start to finish. The ending, although not a true cliffy, will leave you anxiously wanting to dive into its sequel Forty 2 Days. The book is obviously of British origin and I had to look up some of the Britishisms along the way..but I love the variations of one common language we share.

Anxiously awaiting Forty 2 Days buddy read this weekend! Join us!

This book was recommended by a friend and after quickly skimming the synopsis I started reading, I didn't realise it wasn't a stand-a-lone but that's my fault all the information was there I was just too eager to get started that I never checked.
Since there's so many reviews I'll keep mine short and just say I loved it, while there may be nothing new here, to the extend where it was easy to predict what was coming next it didn't in anyway spoil my enjoyment at all I loved it and can't wait to start the start book.

4--I Want to Boink the Billionaire Banker--Stars!!

This one had mixed reviews amongst my GRs peeps. But since I joined a BR (with some badass chicks, I might add) for book 2 Forty 2 Days there was no turning back.

I was worried for nothing. I quite enjoyed this one.

Was it similiar to Fifty Shades of Gray? I suppose. I mean, yes Blake was a billionaire. Yes, Lana was a virgin. Yes, there was a contract involved. But for me that was where most of the similarities ended.

The writing. I don't even know how to describe it. It definitely took some getting used to. But once I did I pretty much flew through the book.

Lana comes from a poor family. Her dad left when her mom was diagnosed with cancer. Lana would do anything to help her mom. Anything. And anything just happens to be selling her body (and in the process her virginity).

Over dinner, she propositions her boss Rupert, knowing that this is a habit he has previously indulged in. Rupert was

"You will meet me in parks and alleyways, or I will pick you up in my car from a street corner and you will pretend to resist while I overpower you and rape you. There will be a bit of pain and sometimes it will involve a little bleeding, but I will never mark your face or leave any permanent scars. And when I am finished I will leave you in the gutter to make your own way back."

Blake Law Barrington happens to be dining at the same restaurant as Rupert and Lana and she catches his eye. Blake invites them to a party where he proceeds to double Lana's asking price. And now she belongs to him.

Blake starts out being cold with Lana. A constant reminder to Lana that it's just sex, which was super HOT by the way. Nothing more. Blake is very hot and cold. She sees glimpses of kindness and caring. Those give her hope.

At the same time, Blake can't stop thinking about Lana. His feelings for her change as well. But Blake's family is disturbing. I don't even know what to think about what is going on there.

Most of the book was the development of Blake and Lana's relationship arrangement. Lana'a mom finally getting help for her cancer.

And then we get to the 85% and things get twisty.

Yep...

You all know what I am talking about.

And of course the climatic cliffhanger ending.

A few final thoughts....

The club scene.....aka The Crafts Ball (I think)

What the hell is going on there???

Victoria...

Billie/Bill was CRAY-zy!!!

But I loved her.

Jack...

Overall I found this one very entertaining. I laughed out loud several times. This was a super quick read, I pretty much devoured it. And now I'm left with WAY more questions then I have answers to.

3.5- 4 Sizzling Stars

 photo Billionairebanker_zps1b728357.jpg

This is a story of a mature 19 yr old virgin from the wrong side of the London tracks who has to pimp herself out for money to help her mother. She needs lots of money and this is her only resort. She starts out with a slimeball but is "rescued" by a man who is instantly taken by her and must have her at any price. $100,000 pounds is the price for 3 months of sex if she is willing to sign the - Consensual Sexual Acts and Confidentiality Agreement.

Blake Barrington is a 29 yr old arrogant, sexy, controlling arse from one of London's finest family. He is from a wealthy banking family and he will be married to someone from his own social circle. But meeting Lana as lighted a fire within and he does not understand how this beautiful woman has intrigued and captivated him so instantly.

 photo 7f67c1b3-1702-40a7-bd92-9d4a68b1d3d4_zpsd17b9d62.jpg

This is only suppose to be a 3 month arrangement but feelings develop between Blake and Lana. We get that Blake has a secret world but what it is we are not sure of. Lana also has a secret, one that will change her forever. But at the end, something happens that causes Lana to meet Blake's finance, Victoria. She compels Lana to take money and flee Blake. Victoria reminds Lana that her and Blake's relationship was just sexual and nothing more......did she really think that Blake would be her knight in shining armor? She must choose to stay or leave......

I will admit that there were some parts to the story that I wish had more explanation. The writing style took a little getting used to but eventually it all worked. Overall, the story was very intriguing with a lot of interesting angles. The sex scenes were quite scorching!! I did have to jump straight into the next book as this book did have a cliffy.

This is book #1 out 5 books in the "Billionaire Banker" series. I quite liked it, and am dying for more now! I found by 7% into this story I was hooked, and confident that I was going to enjoy this read. I love when that happens, and lately it is getting harder to find the reads that hook you in immediately! This is my first book by Georgia Le Carre, and it will not be my last. In fact, I am jumping right into the second book as soon as I'm done my little review..LOL The ending in "Owned" has me fired up and desperate to see what is going to happen, and I need answers...like....yesterday!!!

I have always been a sucker for the controlling Billionaire books, and this one is definitely no exception. Lana Bloom is desperate to sell herself to her boss because she has recently found out that her mother is dying. Yes, she is a virgin and only 19; she got wind that her gross, perverted boss is more than willing to pay a high price to have some one he can "play around" with...Lana only has a few friends and her mother in her life, so of course she figures this will be her only way to try and keep her mother around a lot longer. In the midst of her propositioning her disgusting boss; another rich guy over hears their conversation....As soon as Blake Law Barrington (even his name sounds rich!!!) lays eyes on Lana he wants her...What does he do? He offers double the money that Lana's boss offers. Luckily, Lana finds Blake extremely attractive, and even if the thought of selling her body seems terrible, it will be not much hardship doing the deed with the sexy man!!!

Blake is very cold, detached, and yet controlling. He comes from very old money, and he constantly warns Lana that he is no good and neither is the family he comes from. Underneath his tough exterior though lies a man with a good heart....Lana does see it from time to time, and it doesn't take long for her to fall for him. True to his character though, he is very adamant that this is nothing but a business transaction that will be done when the three month contract is up.

In true romance land style, there are more than a few bumps in the road that happens!! There are also a ton of secrets that are hinted at, which made me very eager to continue on with this series. I am dying to find out certain things, and I hope that the villainess that comes to light in this book gets what she deserves in the end!!! I am hooked, and if this is remotely a storyline you think you'd be interested in, I highly suggest giving it a try! I am happy that I gave it a chance and I can't wait for more!!!! ;-D

This story has a very Pretty Womanesque feel to it. Being it's one of my all time favorite movies, it was a real plus for the book.

So they make a deal for three months together which has me totally thinking:

First things first, He sends her shopping for new clothes:

She's unsure of which silverware to use at dinner:

The have some really hot sex:

Then like all good love stories things derail and we're left hanging at the end of this one.

Have no fear! The next book is available Forty 2 Days (The Billionaire Banker, #2) by Georgia Le Carre

Right from the start you were a thief.

You stole my heart.

And I your willing victim.

I have a huge weakness for
Billionaire/CEO/Businessmen type romances.
I go into them with a sense of anticipation each time. I want them to be great and I want to be captivated.
Well, this one didn't let me down at all. What I loved most was that it really wasn't predictable as I thought it would be.

Every time I thought I had Blake figured out..he surprised me.

I know that I loved the difference in the POV of this book compared to other similar reads. I needed to be in his head..as much as I could. This helped me greatly fall in love with the characters and believe in their love story.
There was a lot of mystery and intrigue along with a blazing hot and at times
tender and funny romance.
The banter between these two was just brilliant. I felt like they complimented each other so beautifully.
I really enjoyed every second.

Well except for the "I want to slap a bitch!" moments.

Blake was intense and just in a way lost in side. I wanted to fix him..I wanted to tear him down to find out what was under all those sexy layers. But learning him ..page after page ..I saw him needing somebody to just be there...for innocent reasons and not for the same old thing others in his life wanted.

The one person who actually sold her self to him..became his light in the darkness of a sinister and betraying world.

I can honestly say he held me captive and my mind was all things Blake the entire book.
I can't wait to start the next one...might wait a little closer to book 3's release date I think.

Aww...I am so lost for words!

I was filled with trepidation as I write this, it's as if something dreadful happened or about to happen, like waiting for an ax to just fall on my head at any moment now. Like an impending doom, a foreboding of unforeseen unknown is about to come my way and life would never be the same again. For someone to feel this way just by reading a book is simply saying, this author possesses such an exceptional skill and ingenuity to make one feel, one is part of the story.

It's like Blake and Lana are star crossed lovers but they aren't, they happen to fall between the great divide of the poor and the elite. What began as an ordinary liaison, ones excuse to satisfy carnal desire and the other to save someones life, became a great affair to remember. Where those who stands to lose, especially Victoria, whose obsession of Blake to make him her husband, scrambles to find a way and stop at nothing to come between Blake and Lana. This is filled with thrills, passion, love, lust and obsession that threw me in a frenzy of conflicting emotions.

I was so deeply immersed into this absorbing extra ordinary tale that I did not realized I was at the end, where normally it would make me feel annoyed and left hanging feeling frustrated. But not this one, this filled me with great longing, with exciting anticipation of what's coming next and looking forward to it, this is amazing and one to remember!

I understand the mix reviews. You can take The Billionaire Banker for what it’s worth or be slightly pissed with it. I think I am in both categories.

I understand this is a debut book, so I took that into consideration for my review. This is not an original story and the writing wasn’t stellar, but overall it’s a decent read.

Lana’s mother needs expensive cancer treatments. Lana decides to sell herself since she is a virgin for 50,000 pounds. Blake takes her on this offer and extends it to a 3 month contract, where Lana will be at his beck and call for sex.

I decided to pick up this book because of the summary, call me crazy, but I love the billionaire / contract/ dominate male / virgin story line. Many have compared this novel to Fifty Shades, the only similarities I found is that he’s a rich guy who gives a poor girl a make-over, oh and the contract.

There is no kinky sex or over the top scenes, which is a bit disappointing, but the steamy scenes were still enjoyable to read.

What I did enjoy is the fact it’s a British book. I love British reads! I feel like I just learn a new language. Like instead of saying garters, they say suspenders, who knew? I love it when they say “pop into the shop”, instead of “stop by at the store”. I know, it’s an American thing. I also love the British stores that are referenced.

The part that angered me the most is the ending. I’m very open to cliffhanger endings, they do not bother me. I am also more than okay moving on to the next book in the series, but I didn’t like the way this one ended. It pissed me off and I actually lowered my rating a bit for it. I understood what the Heroine had to do, but it made her somewhat weak.

Sometimes, the writing is a bit awkward. I usually don’t have a problem with third POV writing, but it just didn’t seem to flow and it’s a bit distracting at times. The read is a bit short too, it seems like the chapters were cut off and there’s little character development. Book 1 and 2 should have been one book. Overall it’s a decent book for a debut, definitely not a five star read, but the author has potential to write one.

We all need money, be it for pleasure or survival it is always needed no matter what. But the ways used to get it is not always of the straight and narrow kind. Some steal it, others kill for it, and others will even sell themselves.

In the case of the heroine Lana in this new read from author Georgia Le Carre she is there to sell herself to earn the money she so desperately needs, but will she be able to walk the line to earn victory or simply admit defeat ?

Because this read is part of a series am only going to give a short opinion as I really do not want to spoil this read for anyone.

The main characters were all very well written and each one gave their own unique bang to the read. From Lana the strong and willing to do the unthinkable to the totally deliciously captivating and very mysterious Blake.

The read offered up some truly fascinating secondary characters , which was really fantastic as too many times I have read a excellent book with good main characters and the secondary characters are too faded and it feels like they are out of touch with the rest of the cast, not the case in this read it felt as it the author really let all the characters each have a brilliant part in shaping this read.

The backdrop settings were vivid and intriguing and kept perfectly in tune with the story going on. The dialogue was emotional and awesome sexy overload, loved it!

I am taking away a message of not all is what it seems and sometimes what needs to be done must simply be done, no questions asked, just suck it up and get it over with, you might find a surprise waiting on the other side.

I look forward to the next part of this series. I recommend this book for any romance fan looking for a sensually, sexy hot read filled with a endless world of wondrous what next moments! The author kept me on the edge of my seat and I could not wait to find out more! Le Carre is a master storyteller that will leave you in awe of her writing !

This was so not what I expected. And needless to say, I'm disappointed.
This book was..

Much to my chagrin, I'll have to read the next book because this ended in a cliffy. And my OCD won't let me rest.
Please, please god let that be better! I know this was the author's debut work- so I'm giving her the benefit of doubt.. but this hero.. egh.

Totally loved this story, the characters, the writing.

The heroine of this book is the type of heroine I love to read about. She's such a pure soul, so innocent, so smart and courageous, so ready to sacrifice herself for the others!

Lana Bloom 19 years, big blue eyes, dark hair, pale skin lives in a council estate in one of the poorest area of London with her ill mother, who is half Iranian. Her British father abandoned them when Lana's mother was diagnosed with cancer.
That day Lana promised her mother that she will take care of her and will never abandon her! But the cancer is progressing and Lana feels impotent. She wants to send her mother to receive a cure in an experimental Cancer Treatment Center in US where people with cancer have had positive results. But for that she needs 50.000 pounds. Left without alternatives and determined to do every thing to save the only person she has in life, she decides to sell her virginity to her perv boss.

While negotiating the deal with her disgusting boss at a posh restaurant Lana meets eyes with the most sexy man she had ever seen and who will make her a better offer.

Blake Law Barrington , 30 years old, blue eyes, dark hair, tall and a killer body is one of the most eligible bachelors in the world, he is not only rich, he belongs to one of the oldest and most powerful families in the world. The Barringtons own the most important monetary institutions in world and control the powers in the world. They marry only with other rich families who are in the same league as them in order to safeguard their fortune and to don't mix their blood line with simple people. That's why he was settled to marry Victoria Montgomery.

Blake and Lana in this deal of sex and money will discover love, but will face their cruel destiny before they have the chance to express their feelings to each other.

I loved this book, it made my heart break...I LOVE Lana and well by the end of the book I loved Blake too.

I totally recommend this series!!

Well...I started this book expecting your typical wealthy guy with poor beautiful girl - but wow! I have to say, this one has a whole different spin.

This story is based in England...Blake is super wealthy and the author goes into detail about the way of the super rich (for instance our Rockefellers, Getty's, etc) and it was a real eye opener...kings, tsars, sultans, emperors - how they rule from behind the scenes - I mean - you never hear about the paparazzi or news blips on them, cuz they control everything - even the government! Anyway...Blake sees Lana from across a room and wants her and of course makes it happen that he gets her. She is poor and is trying to sell herself to get money to pay for her mother's cancer treatments. Blake after contracts are signed, sees her goodness and innocence, and it is really making him second guess where he wants to be going forward ...

The story ends with a big cliffhanger...so book 2 comes out on 1/24... So I'm definately in on that!!! I don't give out 5 stars easily - and I'm no sap on the gushy stories... This one is really meaty and super hot too!!!

I did not want this book to end.

It was nothing like I thought it would be based on the title. Seriously. I've read reviews that said the writing was almost poetic, and it is. There are some similarities to the 50 Shades books, (bazillionaire, virgin, contract, buying clothes), but that's about where it ends.

The story was told mostly from Lana's point of view, but we get some glimpses into Blake's thoughts as well. I really liked Lana. She didn't annoy me and I appreciated how selfless and strong she was. She may not always make the best decisions, but she is only 19. I loved the supporting characters. Billie is her own brand of awesomeness!

I knew a quarter way through that I was going to have to immediately buy the second book. So I did.

I'm now two books in and impatiently waiting for book #3 to be released. Glad I found this series and this author.

I found Lana such a sweet and endearing character. Forced to find ways of paying for her Mothers expensive cancer treatment in America, she finds herself entangled with the mysterious Blake Barrington.
We soon discover that all that glitters is not Gold and the two have more than different upbringings to contend with. When thinking more typically of where the plot in a book like this usually goes it took a left turn and kept me in anticipation. Looking forward Forty 2 Days, the blurb already has me wanting more.

hmmm....*finger tapping chin*...how to write a review without being a total asshole?...hmmm... This is hard because it's awful books like these that really bring out the snarky bitch in me and I don't like to live my life that way despite the momentary thrill I get from shedding some evil through my fingertips. So, I'm going to try to be a good girl so as not to offend since I'm clearly in the minority in my dislike of this book.

This is a bad book. There is absolutely no way anyone can intellectually defend this book as being a great book. But, being an erotica book titled, "Billionaire Bankers #1" you don't buy this book for great literature, you buy it for a sexy read and if the writing is excellent despite the plot, you can claim it as a great book. However, this book's writing was just fair to start and got worse as the book progresses so it must be the bizarre plot and connection to the characters that induces others' adoration. For me, the bizarre plot came out of left field and was just purely for shock value and there was little to like about the characters.

Writing: To start, the writing was fair, nothing to write home about but nothing glaringly awful (except for the name/brand dropping). Around the 60% mark or so, the writing quality dropped. Scenes started without knowing where the character was, time of day, which day it was, etc. There were blocks of writing where we actually had 2 different scenes occurring without page break or spacing in between. Conversation topics changed without any kind of flow (ex: when chick is telling him why her father left and his reply is, "so you've never masturbated before?") Bad writing and eew, that's gross. Author appears to begin novel by making a statement between the differences in class but actually is just setting the stage for a bunch of "WTF Bombs" that are inherent of the plot and turns this book into a telenovela at best. Time lapses become ridiculous (ex: the mothers cancer cure and the chick's . In regards to all the name/brand dropping that goes on in the novel: the author relies on this "technique" as character development in lieu of good writing. I was able to overlook that for the most part but man, was it annoying and never-ending.

Plot: This is what became completely ridiculous for me. It starts off as a typical rich guy saves poor girl despite his role in society and turns into a soap opera of farcical silliness. The farce started off with Dude's justification of pedophilia and no, chick had no problem with this, and then progressed into a slew of rich-bashing ridiculousness that includes frequent inbreeding, secret sex societies, world domination, horse drawn carriages to secluded gothic castles, assassination attempts, forced abortions... I mean, the list goes on and on. I can get behind a couple of ridiculous plot twists but this author went way too far. After awhile, it just became comedy. I was laughing my ass off! I kept trying to guess what absurdity was going to happen next. Is the heroine actually a she-male? Will she turn out to be his cousin? Will his betrothed turn out to be his inbred-mentally-challenged sister? I mean, by the 70% mark, anything goes, so these were not unreasonable questions. And these bombs happened every two pages till the end- that's what made it a telenovela. Even a soap opera will wait a couple days before dropping another bomb on the same characters. The sex scenes were not hot at all. They were stilted and pretty lame with awkward dirty talk thrown in here and there as well as extremely brief.

Characters: Again, the author spends a lot of time mentioning the names of every dish eaten, the names of every restaurant, the names of every book read, the brand names of every item of clothing, etc to make her characters who they are. So, these don't become "real" people but just a collection of things and references that make up their personalities. Beyond that, I found little to like about these characters. The chick is a white trash, weak pushover and the author's attempt at making her intelligent by spouting a couple educated lines was flimsy. The Dude was a farcical representation of the upper elite. I wasn't buying the author's baloney on this one, or excuse me, your one inch thick, Kobe Veal Balogna from Harrods...my bad! This dude was so horrible that I was rooting for the chick to take every opportunity to get away from him. And I've fallen in love with some real bad guys in my reading past but this guy...just nothing lovable about him. I mean, yeah, he brushed his mentally challenged sister's hair but one word from Mommy and he never saw her again. Beyond his money and what his status entails him, there's nothing to this guy.

Overall: As I said before, this book was at first fairly enjoyable but once the plot develops, it became a LMAO satire. I have never laughed so hard reading a book and certainly not one that wasn't supposed to be funny. That's what gave this book a 2 star rating instead of one as I was enjoying myself at it's ridiculousness the last 30%. So, if you don't agree with me, you might love this book as others have and if you do agree well, you're in for some funny stuff! As I was laughing so hard at the end, I had to read spoilers from the reviews of the remaining series and I laughed even harder-- I'm including them below should you care to enjoy without having to buy the remaining books for future laughs.

3 to 3.5 I'm a bit on the fence Stars

I seem to be on the fence about this story. I liked the story fine. I wasn't wowed but I wasn't overly thrilled. By the time I was finished, I wasn't sure if it was a Regency romance, a Harlequin, or a FSOG wannabe.

Plot is simple:

Extremely poor (welfare by US standards) young virgin finds out her mother is dying. In order to provide something for her mother, she is willing to sell herself in order to get the money to provide the medical service. (Honestly, how many do that in 2014?). After a terrible experience with her "pick", the devastatingly handsome Blake Barrington offers to buy her services. For 3 months. Only he is not aware of her untouched status. He sets her up in an apartment and proceeds to make her his mistress for 3 months. His wealthy family is wicked; his betrothed is a beyotch; and of course we have the inevitable . This book ends with the hero in the hospital after saving Lana from being hit by a car.

I had some concerns that probably only bothered me.
*running away to Iran?
*Mother's massive cancerous tumors and still living?

I believe that for me I just need a stronger connection to the characters. And perhaps Book 2 will give me that!

I do want to read the next installment. My suggestions would be to work on character development with more insight into their natures. Give me a reason to be invested in their choices!!

On to the next one!!

Ok...I started reading this after i have already met the character with the tattooed dick in the Eden series and I thought, well I think nothing can top that, now can it?!

and well, I guess it is a different kind of thrill, but this book had me intrigued enough to see what the fuck would happen next...after the leading man here Blake Law Barrington - elusive, tall, dark banker "buys" a young girl for a contracted acts of pleasure.

First I thought, there has to be smth wrong with him if he needs to do that to get sex...
then, I quickly erased that thought from my mind and replaced it with the fact that the man was a fucking mystery in its purest form and shape...

he was pulled by her - the innocence of her - of who this young woman Lana Bloom seemed to "be", seemed to "breathe" and "shine" with the fresh of air and the ray of light...

so he did it simply cause he could...

he had the control over her BUT she eventually got to him, under him and beyond

and then she left him...

and then I started the second book...

Typical storyline of a girl in need of money, willing to sell herself to a rich man. Lana's credit cards are maxed out, her mom is sick, and she feels as though she's out of options. Willing to do anything to be able to send her mother off for an (expensive) experimental treatment, Lana makes arrangements with a dirty, unattractive, nasty man named Rupert. She soon finds out that what he wants may be more than she can stomach (quite literally), but have no fear... Enter Blake to save the day.
Of course he's even more rich, willing to pay double what Rupert is, and BONUS!! he's handsome too. Of course he is...
None of this bothered me. It's an expected storyline, and it's actually done rather well. Blake was sexy and a domineering. Lana was a bit naive, but she didn't come off as stupid. I enjoyed the story, but more than that, I believed the progression of the story. It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger that made me want to read the second.
