Annabeth is not in a good place in her life. She has just found out that her husband doesn't want to be with her anymore. He has been acting odd lately, not himself. Annabeth figured that something might be wrong with the business, she never dreamed that he wanted to end the marriage. What will she do, what kind of job is she qualified for. She doesn't realize that her painting could lead to something great, because no one ever told her it was worth something. Annabeth is on a journey of discovery where she will have a change of heart.

I only gave this two stars. It started out pretty good until I hit about halfway. All of a sudden this well developed character starts having indiscriminate sex with a stranger and a married man, especially when she had recently discovered that RJ was not faithful to her. I am not a fan of sex scenes in books especially long drawn out ones. One reason I don't read romance novels. I could have dealt with it if it hadn't seemed like such a cheap way to develop the story. Take out the sex stuff and it was a well written story. I like the way Annabeth came into her own and stood on her own two feet and met the man of her dreams.

It was sort of a disappointment. glad that I didn't pay good money for it.

The MC was INCREDIBLY naive at 40 plus years old. Her husband was disgusting and EVERYone in her life used her and she just TOOK it. Granted, she was so low to grow by the end of the book, but it was PAINful to read.

And then she made STUPID decisions that people tend to make in their 20s. Like sleeping with a barfly and thinking he was her boyfriend.... Then moving on to her married boss. Who I think was like in his 60s or so... Ick!

This book was a big disappointment. I got it for free on the Kindle back a while ago, so not sure what it is going for now. Honestly, I'm glad I got it for free. I would have been upset if I paid for it. I wouldn't recommend this unless you had nothing else to read. Two stars. It would have been one, but I did finish it and the ending was satisfactory.

As I finished the book I truly realized and saw myself in Anabeth for so long a door mat once you find the strength to pick it up and dust off you can prove you can stand on your own. It doesn't matter the dirt in your life it is the joy in finding oneself. I gave this book a 4 on goodreads because giving a 5 is always hard. I did love the book though!.

This woman is NOT bright. She has no pride and allows too many people to push her around. I liked that she finally learns to stand up for herself. Probably won't read another book by this author.

This is a good story. Having said that, this is not a story that younger readers will enjoy as this is a story about life after divorce from her husband of more than twenty years. The journey of discoveries for her. The story will be more interesting if the author leave out more of the flash back and concentrate on the current and future. Overall a good book to read.

Eh, good enough story, but more for an older crowd. The main character seemed more like a mother figure than a peer, which made it difficult to relate to her. I won't rush out to read another of Nancy Frederick's books.

Don't really love or hate this one. The story was decent but I do NOT like bedroom scenes that are so detailed. It's rather predictable but still I read the whole thing. I don't know if it's really worth recommending though.

At the beginning of this book the heroine is such a doormat I wanted to slap her! Luckily she eventually takes stock of her life and does something about it.

A heartwarming, beautifully written story of change and triumph

This book touched my heart in countless ways. It was so rewarding to witness this loving and guileless abandoned wife wise up to the ways of the world, develop her own self-esteem, learn to be strong and self-reliant so she could build the life she was meant to live. This story of personal growth and transformation is told with such care and tenderness and so beautifully written, I could read it over and over again.

5/16/13- this was a good read about Annabeth and her life. She let everyone push her around and run her life until an old high school friend comes back into her life and makes her realize that she is just as important, if not, more so, than the people she lets push her around... The story got a little slow in parts but over all I enjoyed it very much.

I definitely saw myself in the character am realized I used to let people push me around and put everyone before me. I enjoyed reading this book it was cute and sweet as the characters have a change of heart and some realize their ways and see that sometimes it's too late to go back an fix things.
