This was a reread for me. I love the Magical Cures series. This is set at Halloween and we get to see the town of Whispering Falls celebrate and see June get into a little mishap.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to continue with this series. It’s ok but nothing great.
But I think it’s just me. Maybe I’m not a Cozy Mystery person. The covers always look so cute and I like mysteries. But so far I have been disappointed.
This cute short story has given me renewed hope for Magical Cure Mystery Series.

It was a cute short story about June a new comer to Whispering Falls and the magic community messing with a love potion she was not allowed to do and the consequences that followed.
As always I love her cat Mr. Prince Charming and her snarky fairy crystal ball resident Madame Torres.
But I’m still not feeling the love connection between June and Oscar. Maybe that will come later.

Entertaining fantasy listening 🎶🔰

This kindle e-book novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account prequel to Magical Cure Mystery Series book one of three.

She is preparing a potion of love 💘 for a woman 🚺. It does not go as planned but comes to a happy ending 😀.

I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of for a quick fantasy read. 2024

June creates a love potion and leaves the results unattended. What could possibly go wrong! It is Halloween eve when a desperate and upset woman comes in June’s shop worried that her boyfriend is going to break up with her. This pulls at June’s heart strings – because no one should be broken up with on Halloween! Mr. Prince Charming has been acting oddly and spending a lot of time at the pet shop. Cute story with a lovely ending.

This is a novella that takes place just after A Charming Cure, the second book in the Magical Cures series by Tonya Kappes. I would not recommend it as a stand alone book. This story is about 82 pages long and reads very quickly, as long as you know the basic story line. This story takes place as the village of Whispering Falls is gearing up for Halloween. June and Oscar admitted their attraction to each other at the end of the last book, but have yet to bring their relationship out into the open. They plan on waiting until after Halloween.

When June goes against her instincts and village law and decides to brew up a love potion for a young woman who comes into the shop, a comedy of errors and mis-communication begins.

This is a quick read, and unless you have read the other two books, I strongly discourage you from reading this one. The characters that we have come to know and love are present and accounted for, but the book is simply not long enough to get into their histories. If you are following the series, you will enjoy this little interlude that I am guessing will help bring the relationship gap of June and Oscar between books 2 and 3.

I enjoyed the novella and am giving it 3 stars on Goodreads. This has been a solid, fun and light hearted series. This condensed version hits all the same notes.

A dose of love! First I have to say that I was so happy to hear that a short story in the "Charming" series was coming out just in time for Halloween. "A Charming Potion" is perfectly written so that you would enjoy it even if you haven't read either of the other books in the series and if you haven't you will definitely want to go back and read them. It has been quite a year for the charming June Heal and she is really looking forward to her first Halloween in Whispering Falls where Halloween is the most magical and wonderful day of the year. June goes against the rules of the community and mixes up a love potion that gets into the wrong hands.Boy oh boy, does trouble double! This may be a short story but it is packed full of fun, mystery and love. If you love Halloween as much as I do it will make you wish that you could spend the season in Whispering Falls.

A short story that shows June being irresponsible and needed someone to fix the havoc she caused. Thankfully, Mr. Prince Charming is not a normal cat and can handle the amount of chocolate in six Ding Dongs, not to mention all that sugar. I thought it was cute that he ended up pining for a hedgehog. Seriously, June would be dead six times over without that amazing kitty.

This was a quick read and it seemed like it ended very abruptly and with a lot of questions unanswered. I love the characters and I love that Oscar and June are moving forward in their relationship. I enjoy the side characters and would love to spend a day walking around town and getting a bite to eat at the bakery and hang out with everyone.
A good fast read.

Charming right!

This was shorter than normal, short but sweet. The story moved along briskly, but there was no lack of suspense. Excellent!

I’ve wanted to read Tonya Kappes book for awhile now. I took a shot at reading this novella, even with the warning that I shouldn’t because of possible spoilers. Well, whatever. I’m not sure what spoilers I should have found. I thought this was a perfect book to introduce me to Tonya and her writing world of June Heal and Whispering Falls.

A Charming Potion is a cute short read, which gave me a pretty good insight into who June Heal is. June is a sweet twenty-five-year old, who is funny, quirky, has a good heart, and a MASSIVE love/addiction to Ding Dongs. You gotta love a girl who loves her some chocolate.

As mysteries goes, I don’t think this book really had one but I got something else out of it instead. Something that I wasn’t expecting. If you’re a fan of this series, then I’m pretty sure you’re going to love what’s going to happen. If you’re new to the series like me, then this book is going to give you a little idea of what’s in store for you. I’m looking forward to reading more books from Tonya

Such a wonderful Surprising Ending!

A Charming Potion by Author Tonya Kappes is truly a short story with a lot of powerful punch to it! June Heal with her faithful guardian cat Mr. Prince Charming and snarky crystal ball guide Madame Torres along with the enchanting residents of Whispering Falls once again make up the cast of characters for Kappes' beloved cozy mystery book series. The characters the author has created are so endearing to the reader and described using vibrant details that one can't help but be drawn into the mystical world Author Tonya Kappes has created. Once you read one of the Magical Cures Mystery Series books, you feel compelled to read them all!

A very fun, fast, and short story from a magical series! Loved it. My only complaint is it was to short even if that was what it was intended to be. You can't help but wanting to keep reading about these very likable characters in such a magical setting. Can't wait for more to come in this series and since this short story was halloween themed, Im hoping she does another short story Christmas themed!

I sometimes despise the short stories released in between the books of a series - especially when love is involved - but this one is an exception. Love may be the theme but it's not a sex story (thank you, Ms. Kappes) and it doesn't turn out like you'd expect. All the characters from the series make an appearance and none of the whimsy is sacrificed. This book is a short stroll through Whispering Falls on Halloween.

I received a free copy of this book for review.

June came across badly in this short story. She went against her intuition, the law, her fairy god-cat and crystal ball and went ahead a made a love potion for some girl she never met because it's Halloween. A love potion is wrong on so many levels and she didn't even know the person's situation. And of course there was a mixup. I hope June shows more common sense and ethics in the next book or I will be done with the series.

As always I can count on an entertaining and cute story from Tonya Kappes. "A Charming Potion" was a great story to follow "A Charming Cure." I absolutely love June, Oscar, and all the quirky characters of Whispering Falls. I was thrilled to see June and Oscar's romance bloom a little. I'm really looking forward to the next installment of the Magical Cures series.

June knows what she should and shouldn't do, but sometimes she really wants to help others, not matter the cost. This time it may cost her Oscar. She makes a love potion for a customer, even thought she knows better, and it seems that Oscar got it instead. When he confesses his love for her, is it real or is it the potion?

This book got me into the Halloween season feeling. The coffee, the air, and everything that screams the season out loud! A love potion goes wrong- oh no! Not another mystery! I did laugh when I found out who the cat has a "friendship" with.

June Heal owns and operates A Charming Cure. She makes potions for people to help them, but it is against the rules to make and mess with a love potion. She makes one anyway and it causes all kinds of problems for June and those around her. What are they? You will have to read the book to find out.

A cute little aside thrown into the series. I still claim the cat as my own. Mr. Prince Charming is too sweet for his own good. So much is happening in Whispering Falls and its nice to take a quick break to see the love and friendships between the characters.
