Swami Yogananda (January 5, 1893 – March 7, 1952), born Mukunda Lal Ghosh and later known also as Paramahansa Yogananda, is attributed with introducing Kriya Yoga science to the West. This is an exact reproduction of his 1930 work (now Public Domain), formatted for Kindle devices. It contains detailed descriptions and instructions in the following (1) Kriya Proper - The basic Kriya Pranayama technique (2) Maha Mudra - Preparatory technique for Kriya Proper (3) Jyoti Mudra - Technique to see the Spiritual Eye This was titled, "Art of Super-Realization," and this is how Kriya Yoga was initially presented to the public.
Paramahansa Yogananda (Bengali: পরমহংস যোগানন্দ Pôromohôngsho Joganondo, Sanskrit: परमहंस योगानंद Paramahaṃsa Yogānaṃda), born Mukunda Lal Ghosh (Bengali: মুকুন্দ লাল ঘোষ Mukundo Lal Ghosh), was an Indian yogi and guru who introduced many westerners to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga through his book, Autobiography of a Yogi.
Not a word is wasted. These instructions are to the point. There is also a brief introduction to the lineage of Yogananda's Masters as well as some other important terms. For all those serious about this ancient science, this instruction manual is invaluable.
No matter how well the intention, over time organizations tend to distort and externalize what would be an internal journey. I'm glad this simple guide is available to those who seek it but do not want to join an organization to do so.
A simple illustration of the basic exercises involved in moving the energy from spirit to body, or vice versa. It takes patience and repeated practice to realize but can be done.
This is a very special book for the followers of Shri Paramahansa Yogananda and the SRF/ YSS organisations. This need of a direct instructions from the master on Kriya has been much felt by those who have no physical access to a Guru or instructor and were left much to try and learn from numerous secondhand sources on the net. This book though very crisp and brief provides the most direct instructions for Kriya as practised and taught by the master during his presence on this planet. However, a word of caution to novices or some one totally new and wanting to start on this path, may not find this book very helpful until some foundation is laid through more reading and understanding through other sources and is fairly established on the path of spiritual seeking.
One of the first texts for Western Civilization by Swami Yogananda in the early XX Century. Short. At same time a very detailed description of basic principles of Kryia.
Excellent kindle contribution for students on the path to self-realization. JC Reeves has brought the original words and diagrams of the 1930 version through space and time to your now.
The copy of this text was well translated. At the end of the Kriya chapter it said I was only 95% done 225 pages out of 236 read yet it was marked as read on my library. there may be more to the text but over all worth reading and practicing.
Don't rush out into this practice, Divine timing will dictate when the soul is ready and the results will be exactly right for those who sincerely practice these ancient methods.
Excellent presentation but but video for practicing would be very useful
Beautifully described. Instructions are precise. It appears that to flow the instructions do it correctly is difficult. A short video of practice will be helpful.
