After her father was killed and her mother was deported, Sienna grew up in Miami's prostitution scene in the care of her father's business partner, Chatman. Beautiful and ambitious, Sienna determines that the best route to the life she wants is to become the most coveted of Chatman's call girls. When Sienna learns that her mother has been murdered and that Chatman had a role in the murder, she turns to her friend Ryan for comfort, beginning a secret relationship with the boy Chatman is grooming to take over his business.

Eager to gain her independence from the man she both admires and loathes, Sienna takes steps to increase her value as a sex worker by learning her wealthy clients' cultures and languages, but her plan backfires. Chatman is more determined than ever not to let her go, and Sienna is equally intent on finding a way to break free -- no matter what it takes.

A life changing event for me occurred at my college graduation in May of 2003.
National bestselling author, Karen E. Quinones Miller, was the keynote speaker. She delivered a speech about how she had written a book, self-published it and sold so many copies on her own that major publishing houses fought to offer her a deal. I sat amongst my graduating class fully alert and attentive. It was as if Karen was talking directly to me, telling me to bypass trying to get a job in advertising copywriting and follow my true passion of becoming an author.
I was unquestionably inspired and two months after graduation I began writing my first novel, Secret Society. Three months later I had a complete manuscript and was ready to move on to the next step.

I conjured up the nerve to email Karen and let her know that she had motivated me to pursue my goals of being a writer and that I had completed my first book. I asked her for tips on self-publishing. She simply told me to let self-publishing be my last resort and that I should first seek a publishing deal. I took her advice and researched the ways to go about submitting a manuscript. I sent a query letter, a synopsis, and the first three chapters of my book to Teri Woods Publishing. Teri Woods was known for publishing urban novels and thus I figured she would be interested in Secret Society. Teri Woods was not only interested, but wanted to buy my book outright and on top of that offer me a five-book deal. I was astonished. The only thing I had to do was write a second book to prove to Teri that I could produce.

I wrote Diary of a Mistress and shortly thereafter I was poised to go to New York to sign a deal with Teri Woods. I was excited and anxious, yet nervous. I was new to the publishing industry and I wasn't sure what the contract should look like, what type of deal was appropriate and most of all if selling my book outright was a smart thing to do. Once again, I conjured up the nerve to email Karen. That time she responded by telling me to call her and her telephone number was in the body of the email. She advised me not to sell my book outright and that I needed someone knowledgeable to attend the meeting with me. After realizing that her own schedule wouldn't permit her to accompany me, she took a chance and asked her agent to do so. Liza Dawson, Karen's agent, agreed to read my manuscripts over the weekend and let me know Monday whether or not she would be willing to represent me. I immediately emailed both manuscripts to Karen and Liza.

The next day I got a call from Liza telling me how good of a writer I was and offering to be my agent. I accepted and the next thing I knew, I had three major publishing houses interested in signing me. Teri Woods was notified of this and was asked for her bid. By Monday, an auction was held. Simon and Schuster was the highest bidder offering a six-figure advance and a two-book deal far exceeding my expectations as a new, unpublished author. I was in awe. Everything that has happened from then on has been a joyride. I am living my dreams and it is with thanks to Karen E. Quinones Miller. I often wonder what I would be doing or where I would be had it not been for Karen's speech those few years ago. There's no telling. But I know for sure that I am grateful that she told her story because it was truly the beginning of the success I enjoy today. Now, I feel it is my obligation to pass it on.

I am available to do speaking engagements and motivational talks at community centers, schools, group homes, prisons, outreach programs, shelters, etc. My goal is to reach as many people as I can and make a difference in the lives of others. I firmly believe To whom much is given, much is expected and indeed I have been given much.

Book was a ok book. Sienna watched as her father was killed in front of her and her mother beated. She was then sold to a bad man which she finds out later was the one that order her dad to be killed. She was rised by the bad man that took her end tought her the ends and outs to his buissness that was mainly buying and selling girls. The more Sienna finds out the more she wants out. She finally able to get out and also get the bad man behind bars. Trying to keep her lover/husband/brother from sinking with the bad man. Overall book was good.

Es un libro bueno, la mujer estaba tan fuerte, ella tiene la coraje para vivir en una situación difícil. Ella tiene que dormir con muchos hombres, pero no es su culpa es solamente su trabajo. Es su motivos que mi gusta más. This book is something else. The protagonist Sienna makes a living doing what she knows best, and masters the art of the adult underworld. Not only does she survive but she thrives.

At a young age, Sienna faced one hardship after another. It began with the death of her father and then being separated from her mother. Once being rescued Sienna thought for sure things would only get better and she would always be protected. Chatman treated Sienna like his little princess knowing she would be a valuable asset once she got older. Putting her trust in the wrong one complicated things a bit. I liked Ryan and how close they were. He looked out for Sienna but he put too much effort in trying to show Chatman what he was capable of. Andrew came through big time and I wasn't even mad when Sienna put her plan in motion. Chatman got just what he was looking for by underestimating Sienna and treating her so bad. I did wonder why Chatman didn't just tell Sienna why he didn't want her trying to take things further with Ryan. Sienna's mom shed light on a lot and all I could say was damn! No matter how much Ryan began to change and brush Sienna off, she still felt the need to keep him out of trouble so he could live his life. That was one sistah for sale that overcame all odds and was able to break the barriers of the one who thought he owned her.

Sistah for Sale was based in Miami and it was about the sex trade industry, thus, I found myself doing more research for the book than actually writing it....This is the book that upgraded me as a writer. I grew so much while getting this one done. I raised the bar not only for myself but for my peers. Urban lit was exposed to a novel that stretched its readers imaginations. It took the audience across cultural boundaries and allowed them to experience a global setting.

Sistah for Sale is best read after Secret Society and before Never Enough...Trust me!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. Some unexpected twist that I didn't expected. I read this before watching the movie Taken. Too many children are being exploited.

It was good because it was about this girl who grew up in human trafficking. It was shocking about how true it was; she seemed like a true victim. How can people behave like this for money?

If this book had one or two more chapters I would give it 5 stars. Loved the story, just a little too short. However, I love Miasha and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
