November 30, 2012This collection of 5 short stories (each from a different character's POV) is intended to be read after Fate Succumbs, even though it's a retelling of the beginning of Destiny Binds. Since these guys all actually knew about Shifters and the such, there are some major spoilers! A new short story will be available on my website each week in December 2013. The collection will be released as a Kindle book in January 2013.

I loved the Timber Wolves trilogy, loved. Even with all the heartache, but only because Tammy managed to make it all a better in a way. She made it so that we would be pleased and content with the way things turn out. Well, mostly. You all know what I'm talking about.
I have tried convincing Tammy into taking reincarnation into consideration or rewriting the 1st book. Alas, I've not succeeded. (She laughs at my pain)
I wished this could have been longer! I loved seeing everyone's first impressions, whether it was of the Coles' or Scout.

A wonderful sarcastic lovely story. Tammy Bkackwell should be read and loved! If you've read her Shifter Stories, this is a must!

If you happen to have read any of my other reviews for Tammy Blackwell then you must realize that I am somewhat smitten with anything that comes out of her pen. It is with that disclaimer that I say, this was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
This entire companion happens during the first two chapters of the first book in the Timber Wolves Trilogy. We get into the minds of the other characters. First Liam, then Alex, Talley, Charlie and finally Jase. And each person took you a little further into the story chronologically. It was awesome because we get to read about the first time Liam sees Scout, then the first time that Alex sees Scout, then the beginning of when Talley starting “seeing”, then we hear from Charlie and Jase. I am in love with Liam and thus being in his mind was my favorite to be a part of it all.
It was great, every second. Buy it, and read it, but only if you have read the rest of the series (I mean it, you must read all three before going back to read this). And if you haven’t read the trilogy then you are missing out!

I love The Timber Wolves series and reading this novella reminded me just how much I enjoyed reading these books. The novella is told from Liam, Alex (I get upset everytime I think of him), Charlie, Jase and Tally's POV's that would of taken place in the first book. Each characters POV of Scout and the goings on, before Scout knew anything, was a great insight and I loved discovering more qualities about each character! From the beginning Liam felt drawn to Scout; Alex was already in love with her before they met; Charlie finally admitted he was in love with Scout during the "stand-off" between Liam, Alex and The Hagan Pack; Jase was in love with Tally and living in denial; and finally, the sad realisation that the end was near for Alex :( ... Loved it!

Always love hearing other character POV's. I kept saying, "no don't do that", "that's not what's going to happen", or "please calm down" among other excited statements. Knowing what really happened made reading their POV's really exciting and caused a bit of anxiety(not the bad kind). It was also nice to remember when Scout first met Alex and Liam.
After learning Scout was an Alpha wolf, I never thought back to how she reacted to people, I realized that was her Alpha rearing her "don't mess with me" head. Liam clearly saw that she was an Alpha and can be the savior of all shifters.
I learned how everyone felt and what they thought and then felt both happy and sad for them reading their point of views. Loved the books, wished it didn't have to end.

What can I say?! I love Scout, Liam, Jace, Tally, Charlie and Alex! I cannot get enough of these characters and the creative world Tammy made! I refuse to believe this is the end for my beloved Timber Wolves! Of course, this was all a prequel to Destiny Binds, but the backgrounds are perfect and the changing POV enlightening!

Loved reading the different POV's, its been a while since i read the Timber wolves series.. reading At First Sight brought it all back to me! I got all caught up in the characters and fell in love with them all over again. I have to go back to the beginning again and re-live the story. It left me wanting more!

A cute little companion read to the Timber Wolves trilogy. It was nice reading from the perspectives of the other major characters, it provided a great insight. Love Liam, Alex, Jade, Talley and Charlie, so I was never not going to like more from them. If you've read the trilogy, you must read this!

Though I did enjoy seeing early scenes from Liam's, Alex', Jase's & Charlie's POV I was hugley disappointed that though this is a paid for novella only 50% of it was actually the Novella...the other 50% was the first few chapters of the first book :(

This is a cute companion to the main trilogy. It's been a couple months since I read the series so I forgot some minor (and major) details (for example, I don't remember what Liam's mark actually stands for). It was great getting back in the world and seeing all the characters again. The book's structure was easy to read since each chapter picked up where the previous one left off, from a new perspective. Reading different moments from different characters' views gave more understanding and depth to why they acted the way they did. I'm still processing Scout and Liam getting together though.

This was good but I would REALLY have preferred to see a novella from Liam’s point of view... especially from when he rescued Scout and lived in the cabin in Canada with her for 6 months! We’re never really given much insight into him and I would find this a much more compelling read!

TOO DARN SHORT !!!
I Loved this little book but I don't really understand what the point of it was. It was just a repeat of the first book of two, Why read this one when we already read the series ? I hope the next little book is not more of the same thing...

An absolutely fantastic series. Great characters, great plot, great romance and werewolves, always a plus for me.
Scout is an awesome mc. I loved her after just a few pages, and she just got better throughout the book, her character grew so much. She looks odd. She has white, white blonde hair, extremely pale skin and eyes the colour of ice chips, which gets her a lot of negative attention. But this doesn't bother her, she takes it all in her stride and gets on with it. She's snarky and sarcastic and really fun to read. She's a black belt in karate and can fight as well as any of the guys.
Jase, Scout's stepbrother, who she's known since she was about three weeks old and is really close to, is quite the intriguing character. Charlie his cousin, who Scout has been in love with for as long as she can remember, I liked, then didn't like, then pretty much liked again. Kind of how Scout's feelings went too. And then there's Tally, Scout's best friend. They're like the four musketeers, spending practically all their time together. Charlie and Jase are really overprotective of Scout. But when Alex and his brother Liam arrive in town, events are set in motion which will completely change Scout's life.
The romance in these books is excellently done. There's no love triangle, but yet it's not just your average run of the mill romance either. I have to say it worked very well for me, and while there were a few tears shed, I really liked how everything worked out in the end.
So much happens in the course of these three books and I didn't want to put them down. The type of books that when you're not reading them, you're constantly thinking about them, and when you're asleep, you're dreaming of them. I'm quite sad to have finished. Thankfully, there's another series set in this world, about Charlie, that I plan on moving onto next. And these will definitely be on my re-read list. And I need to have the hard copies for my shelf.
If you like werewolf/shifter books, and maybe even if you don't, you have to pick up this series.
The trilogy is on sale until the 1st January so you can pick it up now for $2.50. It's a steal!

A good short novella that complements the Timber Wolves Trilogy.
I liked this little short story mainly because it showed so many different characters perspectives. It was interesting to see what Liam and Alex’s first impressions of Scout were and to know that even then they suspected there was something Shifter about her. I also liked getting to see Talley, Charlie and Jase’s points of view. They were all unique and explained a bit more of how Talley’s powers came about and how Jase and Charlie ended up causing the accident with Alex.
Overall, this was a good short read I’d recommend if you read and enjoyed the Timber Wolves Trilogy and want to see more of the main characters.

This short story was actually a collection of different POVs. It follows the meeting between Liam and Scout through to after Alex and Scout meet up. While it was interesting to see things from different points of view, it was pretty depressing. You know where everything ends up and that poor Alex doesn’t get a happy ending no matter how much he hopes for it. Destiny really messed with him. Of all the POVs, Liam was the most interesting, and probably only because you get so very little from him from other people. Most just view him as a grumpy old man, which doesn’t help you understand his motivations or feelings.

I enjoyed some of the different view points in this novella. It even made me almost want to read the series again. Thankfully the first few chapters are included at the end and it was enough to satisfy me for now. This compainion novella also reminded me of how sad the first two books made me..which is why I mentioned "almost" wanted to read. With all that being said, I would recommend reading the series before this companion as it does contain many spoilers.

At First Sight was pure awesomesauce. I love this series! This novella was a collection of short stories told from different POVs, and it's all about first impressions and how they all first met. Definitely good stuff here, but it's important to read the original trilogy before this one. If you loved the Timber Wolves trilogy, you'll definitely love this one.

I was a little disappointed with this. Only the first 65% or so was new content - after that, it was the first few pages of the first book. I still LOVED it - I've been obsessed with this series for a long time now, but it made me sad to hit 'next page' thinking I still had a good third of the way to go and see that it was over.

When this story first started I thought it was going to be really cool to get an insight into the POV of the other characters from the book, and in a way it kind of was that. After reading a few different POVs the book just went on to repeat what we read in the first story. It was still okay, but .....

Reading these short stories that all took place at the beginning of the Timber Wolves series was awesome. I love this series and seeing things from Charlie, Jace, Talley, Alex and Liam's perspectives was so cool, especially since most of it was stuff we hadn't been privy to the first time around since Scout wasn't involved. I absolutely love this series!

Bueno, me esperaba algo más largo, pero lo que leí me gusto, en especial el POV de Alex, estaba un poco obsesionado con Scout, pero igual lo amé. Jase tan impulsivo, Telley estuvo muy miedosa, no me gustó. Liam muy formal, me esperaba que hubiera chispas aunque sea un poco. Charlie es el que más lástima me da, actuó tarde. Fue lindo, pero tendría que haber sido más largo :p

Bit disappointed with how incredibly short this was - the second half of the book was just the first few chapters of the first book in the series. Still...what do you expect for 99 cents...What I DID read I loved though. Just wish there was more.

I loved the Timber Wolves series and it was nice to see the perspective of the other characters and how they view Scout or other situations that happened in the trilogy. I hope that Ms. Blackwell will write a new series that will include some of these characters so we can keep up with them.

It answered questions that I had in the first book. It gave me insights into the characters and what they were thinking at certain parts in the book. I like how it was written in the 3rd person. Happy it was written and that I have read it.

Good little addition to the Timber Wolves Series. I loved the insight into the other characters and their point of view of the initial events. Of course I would have loved more. It definitely felt too short, but I'll take what I can get.
