Urban Books newcomer Tresser Henderson delivers over-the-top, scandalous drama that is sure to entertain.
The most important title I have in this world is being a woman, wife, and mother. I'm so happy to add author to this list as well. I tapped into this passion working in the corporate world for a major insurance company. I wasn't happy in my job and I had my boss who asked me what is something I've always wanted to do. I told him write and from that day on, I've been writing ever since.
My debut novel My Man's Best Friend was published in 2012 by Urban Book/Kensington Publishing. Each year following came My Man's Best Friend II-Damaged Relations, My Man's Best Friend III-Severing Ties, The Johnson Sisters, and Big Girl's Drama.
Signing with Anointed Inspirations Publishing (AIP) in the summer of 2017, Null & Void was my next book to be released October 2017.
Yes my books seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum but you know what, you only live once. I can write drama. I can write enticing scenes. And I can write Christian. Whatever is placed in my heart to write, I'm going to do it.
I'm a living witness that dreams can come true. So, if there is anything you have a passion to do, go for it. Life is too short not to. For me, this is only the beginning. The sky is the limit and I'm reaching high to get where I want to be.
Just reread this book. And I must say it was better than the first time I read it. Zacariaha and Jaquon probably deserve to be together more than anything else. It like they were cut from the same cloth. I felt bad for Kea and Derrick as well. They didn't deserve what they had to go through. Essence was a good friend I think. She tried stopping Zacariaha from destroying everyone's lives, but she was dead set on getting revenge. It was sad about Mr. Hank, he didn't deserve that neither. But karma is real, and you reap what you sow.
I bought this book after going to my local library and seeing a flier advertising that the author was going to be doing a book signing and chat at another library that was to take place in four days. I'm glad I did. The story line pulls you in from page one and the characters are believable. I often found myself trying to guess what was going to happen next as i turned the pages. Very much looking forward to the sequel…
This was a good read, I couldn't stand that trifling Zarcariah, she is a messy tramp, Jaquan is just a man whore that needs to be knocked down a few notches. Derrick is the sweetest most gentlemen that needs to send Zarcariah back to the streets. Kia needs to move on with her life and leave Jaquan alone, she's too good for him.
I really enjoyed this book, it had a lot of Drama, the storyline was easy to follow and I caught my self rooting for a few characters.
Everybody in this book should be SHOT. For that reason alone you should read it because Ms. Henderson will keep your emotions ablaze with this one...Cannot WAIT for the next installment!
Kea is currently in a dishonest relationship with her long-time boyfriend, Jaquon, who cannot remain faithful to save his life. She loves Jaquon dearly and continues to accept his infidelity and remain hopeful that he will one day change. Jacquon is best friends with Derrick. Derrick is in a deranged relationship with Zacariah who is insisting on using her body to maintain a tasteful lifestyle without considering the good man she has at home. Kea and Derrick begin to get fed up with their partners’ scandalous ways. When the truth is revealed, Kea and Derrick begin to discover love elsewhere. One thing leads to another and all worlds seem to make a turn for the worse.
Tresser Henderson’s “My Man’s Best Friend” is a thrilling and drama-filled story that will have you at the edge of your seat! Excellent quality reading and very good job from the author. I like the way that Tresser uses her vivid imagination and creates such turmoil within this story to keep the reader alert while yearning for more. The ending is a total cliff-hanger, which I was not expecting. Overall, this is by far, the best drama novel I’ve read this year and I will continue to seek more novels from Tresser Henderson moving forward.
I would like to to give this book four and a half stars. It was a really good read and I very much look forward to the sequel. I hated Zachariah although I sort of understand all of her madness.
Omg, phenomenal... This is my first time reading this author.... Sooooo good and capatived...Wow...twisted, backstabbing and unbelievable shocking....
I love how in-depth and creative all the characters were...they were colorful and lively...Kea, Derrick, Jaquon, Zacariah, and Essence. Their stories were compassionate, realistic and traumatic...
I highly recommend this book and I'm so excited to read all other books by this author in the near future....
It wasn't terrible, but I don't really want to read anymore. Henderson lost my attention completely when she began to rely on rape and incest to make for an interesting read. I just can't do this. It had the makings of being a great story, but I'm at a point where I just can't be bothered with such foolish writing.

My biggest pet peeve is when authors try to do this redundant "It's a small word" thing. It's beyond irritating and taken a bit too literal. Seems to occur in literally EVERY single book! But it was still a good read.
I enjoyed this book. It wasn't AMAZING. There was nothing to figure out because the reader was told everything by the different characters telling the story.
Okay so I'm guessing there is a part 2 to this considering the ending. I was pleasantly surprised by the multiple stories told and the plot twists were not necessarily predictable. Good book
