Once in your life you may have a pet that is so much more. This animal will become one with you. Their heart and soul, and yours, will somehow join. Without words you both instinctively know what the other’s needs are, and you will live to take care of them. This is the true story of my "Heart" dog, Eclipse. Originally written as a way of expressing my grief over her loss, it was meant to be read only by myself. She was such an amazing girl, that I felt her story needed to be shared. All proceeds from this book will be donated to animal rescue. Please do not feel that this book is one that will make you cry throughout. Yes, tears may be shed. (Nothing wrong with that. It saves you money on eye drops) Eclipse's story will also bring many smiles to readers of her story. It's hard for one to hear of the joy she brought to the world and not be touched by it. This amazing rescued golden retriever came into my life at seven years of age, with cancer. She was used for breeding, and then went to a second owner. I had the honor of being her third, and “Forever Home!” She was to become a registered therapy dog, who worked in Hospice and nursing home settings. This book gives concrete examples of her amazing nature, what I consider to be her philosophy of life, and the absolutely tremendous difference she made in the lives of those she met, including myself. You will read of such heart touching moments, as when she attended wakes, memorial services, and even a funeral mass. You will even get to meet Mozart. Yes, he lived with Eclipse! After reading this book my hope is that you will start to live your life like a Golden Retriever.....Minus the shedding of course, which could make you a bit unpopular.
I could connect to the book. I lost a lot of pets in my 84 years. I was the sweatiest and most loving book I have read. Thank you for sharing it. It really touched my heart.
Nice, quick read about a guy and his favorite dog. A bit too goody, goody as everyone was super nice and super competent in the book. Enjoyed it only because I love dogs,
I absolutely adored this book with many tissues. Tears are falling right now. I love true astory animal books can never find enough. Thank you so much.
I thought this would be a fiction book. It was a non-fiction book that just outlined the author's dogs he had throughout his life. He went into more detail with his dog Eclipse, and Mattrix
This was a very heart warming story by a man who has nothing but love for animal as well as his fellow man. I too have 3 wonderful dog, 2 websites and an. adorable tiny Yorker. This story has helped me to pursue my dream of training my westie as a therapy dog She has completed her obedience class but must be a year old before starting therapy training. Thank you Howard.
A very sweet, loving story. Having a dog as a part of your family is in my eyes a requirement for living a normal life. Having a therapy dog makes it that much better. Adopting a dog that can become a therapy dog...you've hit the jackpot.
Having a dog is a requirement for having a happy life life in my eyes.Adopting a dog that you can help become a therapy dog .....well, you hit the jackpot.
Loved the book, have lived a similar lifestyle with are special fury family members. Lost two to car accidents, those were both drunk drivers. The last was a very special friend like your eclipse, our Spencer was always with me. Love to all who have had the very special friends. Can't put it into words how the last two years have been without him.
Like the author indicated, he wrote this as a memorial for an incredible dog and I would have to agree she was. We just lost our Golden Retriever/Irish Setter two months ago to the same thing. Howard I fell in love with your dog and am blessed to have gotten to know her and Mozart through your words. Our Heart dog was named Maddie
I absolutely loved this book. you will laugh you will definitely cry. just a reminder of how wonderful our fur babies are and how blessed we are to have them.
This truly is one of the best books that I have read. I have always had a dog until I started traveling and could not provide properly for an animal. But what Howard has written is very true.It seems that animals have a sixth sense.
I love this book. I had a golden and have a lab, so I can relate to the animal lovers. The book is heartwarming and entertaining a definite light read.
Great story. Thank you, thank you. I'm so honored that there Are people who actually think first of their animal. Again, thank you for a WONDERFUL well written book.
