I was really disappointed by this book. All of the characters were extremely two dimensional, and were added to the plot suddenly when needed and removed just as quickly. The protagonist doesn't even question an agent's sudden appearance in her tiny hometown nor his unexplained sudden disappearance a few hours later after his cryptic attack in her own house. People have their emotions stated. We don't see any of the characters develop, nor are we given any reasons for why they feel the way they do. The first lady is barely introduced into the book before she gets killed off because she's in the way of the plot, and her husband of who-knows-how-many years seems to barely notice her passing. The subplot of what Grandpa Joe did with his money makes fleeting appearances. Over all, this book has no depth and the plot doesn't hang together.
The president is set up. After finding one of his guards dead on the floor of the lodge he's staying in he escapes not knowing who to trust. Excellent adventure.
Started out with a potentially good story line but descended into the unbelievable. Overly long and too many sub-plots. Skipped thru some portions to get to the end which was too predictable. Two stars is generous.
