Reading through the transcripts of Chuck Smith's sermons is kind of like reading the (very coherent) ramblings of a redneck surfer...who knows what he is taking about.

This is a polished compilation of Chuck Smith's sermons through Genesis, with edited text and formatting, and is therefore slightly more formal than his sermon transcripts.

Genesis is a collection of related, and sometimes chronologically presented short stories, and are intimately connected to the rest of the content in the Bible. The stories are descriptive, and prophetic, and can be read with multiple layers of analysis.

Chuck Smith's sermons and commentary is an excellent, accessible, conversational presentation of the contents of Genesis. His sermons are an excellent combination of simply reading the text, presenting a cohesive narrative, presenting connections to the rest of the Bible, and drawing out clear applications and meanings for today.

Excellent commentary

I would have given it 5 stars except the second half of the commentary seemed lacking the keen insights of the first half. This may be a personal bias as the mysterious period of time between In The Beginning and Jacob is what I concentrated on.

Well presented commentary.

This commentary is so much like the Living Bible interprets the KJV. I liked the story presentation because it was so easy to read. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting help in understanding the book of Genesis.

Excellent Study of Genesis

The Book of Genesis is the foundation for all beginnings, the present and the future. I pray that all who read this commentary are as blessed by it' words as I have been.
