This lovely book doesn’t require a literal belief in the reality of angels, only in their imaginative power as a positive force. The first part of the book describes different bodies of angel lore within the Judaic, Christian, and Islamic traditions. The book’s second section describes the experience of a range of people from medieval saints to hospice nurses and shows the reader how to overcome obstacles to receiving angelic guidance. The third section identifies 25 angelic qualities, including compassion, harmony, and mediation. Richly endowed with reproductions of beautiful angel paintings the book makes a thoughtful gift for all who respond to the beauty of the celestial spirit.
