Little Miss Trouble enjoys causing trouble especially at Christmas! When Little Miss Bossy organises a pantomime will Little Miss Trouble behave or will she do what she does best? This was a great little read and everyone loves a pantomime! Mr Men books are not just for children!
Well, it is December (admittedly early December!) but the time is ripe for some Christmas reading to be undertaken ... so here goes.
In this seasonal tale Little Miss Trouble is a handful and there is no time when she is more of a handful than at Christmas. There are just so many opportunities for her to cause trouble.
The previous year she had pinched a slice of Little Miss Neat's Christmas cake and blamed it on Mr Greedy so that Little Miss Neat was very unhappy with Mr Greedy. She also told Little Miss Splendid that Mr Quiet had said that she looked like a Christmas tree in her hat; consequently Little Miss Splendid was not happy with Mr Quiet. In addition she sent Mr Chatterbox a gobstopper and pretended that it was from Little Miss Chatterbox; not surprisingly this caused trouble between the two of them.
So to this year and when it came to Little Miss Bossy's Christmas pantomime, Aladdin, it was no surprise that Little Miss Trouble did not get a part. In explaining why she had not got a part Little Miss Bossy said, 'I know what you're like, you'll just be trouble from start to finish.' Little Miss Trouble went home in a foul mood determined to show Little Miss Bossy what trouble really was.
After auditions Little Miss Star was Aladdin, Little Miss Sunshine was the Princess, Mr Mean was the Evil Wizard, Mr Small was the Genie of the Lamp and Mr Grumpy was Widow Twankey. But when rehearsals got underway things started to go wrong; itching powder was put in Widow Twankey's wig, someone told the Princess that Aladdin had said that she wasn't pretty enough to be a princess, an egg appeared in the Evil Wizard's slipper, glue was put on the lid of the magic lamp and the Genie could not get out and a mouse was put in Aladdin's cave and Aladdin proved to be less brave than everyone expected!
It was a disaster and Little Miss Bossy knew why and who had caused all the trouble. So she went round to see Little Miss Trouble and told her that she could have a part in the pantomime after all. On the first night, the cast met beforehand and nobody could see Little Miss Trouble so they asked where she was as they understood that she now had a part in the pantomime.
Little Miss Bossy told them that she had but Mr Mean asked, 'Where is she?' Well, suffice it to say that she was in the pantomime and she was a part of a twosome, which was ... well, can you guess?
Day 12 of my Mr Men and Little Miss Advent Calendar is................
.............. A Christmas Pantomime! Little Miss Trouble is a character I'm not all that familiar with (way after my time!!) so it's refreshing to be introduced to some different characters. This book didn't disappoint - it's brilliant and fun!
Another great Mr Men Christmas special. This one is all about pantomimes - a very common and well known event in the UK but which required a fair amount of explaining to my American born daughter. A nice adventure starting little miss trouble, causing trouble!
The Princess is not pretty enough to be a princess. Little Miss Trouble goes home in a foul mood. Suddenly, a horse appears. The Mr Men and the Little Misses all shout hooray!
