All Yani wanted was a remodeled kitchen and bathroom for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. But from the moment she spotted Drew, there was nothing ordinary about him. His tool belt and ponytail put him in a different class from all the other men in her past and that threatened to keep them apart. The uptight and principled Yani was like an unexpected gift. Only she didn’t know it yet. Getting beyond the barriers blocking their path wouldn’t be easy, but he was willing to try if she would only give him a chance. Would Yani be able to shut out years of advice and follow her heart, or would she succumb to the pressure and walk away from the man she loved?

Sticking to my pledge not to soldier through books that simply do not capture me, I quickly put this one aside. The initial interaction b/t the H/h felt...hmmm... inappropriate. It hit a lot of odd notes.
A cute, but not great IR novella that reminded me a lot of the movie Something New. Bougie chick meets her contractor and sparks fly, yada, yada, yada.
Nice read uptight corporate executive meets contractor remodeling her home. She is attracted to him but because of hang ups instilled by her family she is not sure he can past muster with her family. Low and behold he has been keeping a secret Can we all quess his secret. Yep OK tead
