“...in generations to come, when Humans rebuild their population and you come to the conclusion that your species is no longer relevant, how will you tell that truth to your people?” In one timeline, Eli, an android possessing the unique ability to accurately predict the future struggles to find his place in a world where his abilities make him both feared and coveted. As he tries to understand the true extent of his power, he finds himself caught in a dangerous game of politics and rebellion, where every decision could have catastrophic consequences. In another timeline, Dr Randeep Singh finds himself navigating a treacherous landscape, trying to balance the demands of a ruthless dictator with his own moral compass. As he works to introduce a groundbreaking artificial intelligence that could save the world from an impending disaster, he must also confront the reality that his creation could fall into the wrong hands. As the two timelines collide, Eli and Dr Randeep Singh are forced to confront their own vulnerabilities and limitations in the face of overwhelming challenges.
I struggled to finish this book. It read like a first draft. The characters were underdeveloped. The writing was poorly edited. Often, I would be confused as to which character was speaking or thinking because paragraphs were not punctuated properly. I would have to reread the interchange to figure it out. I did like the original concept and story overall. If the book had been beta read and edited properly, I would give a much higher rating.
