I'm a writer, blogger, and entrepreneur. Still learning a lot. Still exploring. And I'm doing it all from a polar bear infested Northern Scandinavia (not really, but we do have some reindeer roaming around).

This is definitely a clear, informative and well-written book. It takes a reader step by step through the process of starting a blog, deciding on a topic, coming up with and writing articles and managing readers. If you have never blogged before or if you have, but felt that things did not go well this will be a very useful book to get you on the right track.

For me it was not so useful. I have run several reasonably successful blogs over the years, but they have all eventually run aground in some way or another. I was hoping that this books might help with the kinds of problems I have faced - such as managing motivation when your interest moves elsewhere, or what tools and techniques to use to keep a pre-prepared queue of posts running while you are away from the blog for a bit. Maybe there is a book out there which can help with these kinds of “mid-life’ blogging problems, but it’s not really this one.

It’s still a very good book, just not quite the one I was looking for.

The author talks about using proven templates for blog posts, and how to make each post easy for readers to enjoy (write scannable posts, for instance), but the part that I found most helpful was his "drill down method" for creating an unlimited number of blog post ideas. Beyond that, I appreciated his positive encouragement throughout the book, such as: "If you're moving forward, making mistakes, having fun, and learning, you're on the right track."

I always figure if I gain one solid idea from a book like this, then it was worth the investment of time and money. I feel like I gained two or three usable ideas so this constitutes a win.

As someone about to return to blogging after an absence of several years, I’m aware the world has changed and wanted to get some tips and ideas.

Henri is an experienced and successful blogger who shares what he’s learned over the years, including some of the mistakes he made along the way. His advice is practical, simple and inspiring. He makes everything feel achievable and remains positive throughout the book.

I lost count of how many times I found myself nodding in agreement with his advice. There’s pretty much everything you could need or want to start blogging and making the most of it.

Highly recommended.

Practical Guidelines for Writing

I have read several books on blogging and writing. This has been the best book I’ve read so far regarding the subject of writing. Each chapter was short and direct. The author gave practical guidelines for writing that can easily be followed and each chapter ended with an action step so that the reader could practice the advise given. I plan to read through it again.

Very Helpful

I found the book very helpful and practical as someone new to the blogging world. It is well written and the author is personable, experienced, informative, and he offers lots of great examples for the reader to experiment with. He is also very encouraging to new bloggers like me who can sometimes be overwhelmed by the technical aspects of writing blog posts others will read. I recommend the book.

Breezed through this in an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon whilst resurrecting an old blog, to write about new things. Helped me understand how to keep it focussed (know who you're writing for), how to write well, and how to keep up the momentum.

I actually think loads of the tips in here apply to all writing, not just for bloggers.

Short, right to the point and very informative.

Some of his ideas are: write no matter what, focus and inspire your reader, the importance of headlines and scannable posts, his (very interesting) process on writing posts, etc. If these topics resonate to you, it is really worth reading.

Straight to the point. Really helpful!

Enjoyed his straight to the point writing style. The structure in how he writes his blog posts and tips he uses are really simple and easy to follow. And I'm totally going to apply most of what he advises to my own writing.

I read this book in couple of hours and provided me strategies to try out.
When I read this book I was stuck with a blog post that has been in edit more for few days. Now I know what I missed.... A proper headline and an outline. Thanks Henri
