The Brainstorm Trilogy #1-3

Callsign: King - The Brainstorm Trilogy

Rate this book
King - The Brainstorm Trilogy is a complete collection of three novellas featuring Jack Sigler, aka, King, the lead hero in Jeremy Robinson's Chess Team. The collection is 144,000 words, far longer than any of the Jack Sigler novels and jam-packed with cool science, high-octane action and strange creatures. The trilogy is $2.00 less than buying each novella seperately. KING - Book 1 The fabled Elephant Graveyard has been discovered. It contains enough ivory to make Ethiopia a wealthy nation. But the cave contains more than physical riches—it also holds the means to control the world. Fifteen scientists enter the cave. Only one leaves. Jack Sigler, King (field leader of the covert, black ops Chess Team) receives a cryptic text from Sara Fogg, his girlfriend and CDC "disease detective". A catastrophic disease has been reported in Ethiopia’s Great Rift Valley, but Fogg suspects something more is going on. Her suspicion is confirmed when King's arrival in Africa is met by a high speed assassination attempt. As King fights against two competing, high-tech mercenary forces, each struggling for control of the deadly discovery, Fogg disappears. Working with the surviving member of the science team that made the discovery, King begins a search for Fogg and the source of the potential plague that takes him back to the Great Rift Valley, back to the Elephant Graveyard, and brings him face-to-face with modern man's origins. KING - Book 2 - UNDERWORLD Strange things have always happened in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona… Bizarre lights, reports of cave entrances that appear and then vanish, hundreds of mysterious disappearances…and rumors of monstrous creatures that inhabit a labyrinthine underworld. When a terrifying accident on an Arizona highway leads to a military exclusion zone and a cover-up of staggering proportions, Jack Sigler— King, field leader of the elite and ultra-secret covert Chess Team—joined by his closest friend, archaeologist George Pierce, sets out into the desert, intent on discovering the truth. Assisted by a beautiful paranormal investigator, dogged by soldiers intent on preserving the quarantine, and pursued by a relentless legendary hitman, King soon finds himself in a race against time to prevent all out war with the creatures that inhabit the underworld. KING - Book 3 - BLACKOUT Twice before, Jack Sigler— King—has stopped the mysterious 'Brainstorm' from destroying all life on earth. Twice before, he's survived Brainstorm's assassins. So when the mastermind behind Brainstorm surfaces in Paris, King goes on the offensive. As the final showdown unfolds in the legendary City of Lights, the villain's scheme to plunge the world into literal darkness is revealed. But even Brainstorm isn't ready for the destructive force that has been unleashed…an entity of darkness imprisoned for more than a thousand years, set free now to devour...everything. The blackout has begun… When the sun rises, the world will end. PRAISE FOR THE JACK SIGLER THRILLERS "Rocket-boosted action, brilliant speculation, and the recreation of a horror out of the mythologic past, all seamlessly blend into a rollercoaster ride of suspense and adventure." -- James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author THE DEVIL COLONY "With THRESHOLD Jeremy Robinson goes pedal to the metal into very dark territory.

This is a great compilation of the three Callsign King stories, and having them together makes for easy reading. I like how these stories fill in some of the blanks that I didn't even realize were in the series.

This little collection of King novellas is just what you need to start the Call Sign novellas. Enjoy three awesome tales of King sans team kicking butt and saving the world. Read them all first, or after King book 1, read Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, and Deep Blue Call Sign novellas- which come paired up now for some digital!!- then finish books 2&3 for the complete call sign chronology!

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, pickup Prime by Jeremy Robinson and Sean Ellis and start there. But buy this, you'll want and need it later!

Really good

I enjoyed getting to know King's character in more depth and detail. It also gave good background information on other characters and events!

Featuring King, a heart throb hero that you will love.

The Brainstorm Trilogy is all three King novellas in one. These are fun, interesting, and engaging short stories. King is part of an elite force called Chess Team. They fight to save humanity from madmen, myths, monsters, and many other hazards planning to wipe out the human race. In this series of shorts King is up against an opponent named Brainstorm.

The first story takes us to Ethiopia. King heads there after his girlfriend sends him a coded message. The Elephant Graveyard has been discovered and an infection released. Brainstorm is behind this, trying to find a way to control humans.

The second story takes place in Arizona. Making an appearance is the Mogollon Monster. Brainstorm has a scientist hidden at Superstition Mountain working to develop a new source of unlimited energy. King has a Soviet assassin on his heals all through the story, as well as the military who are protecting the research project.

In the third story we get to go to the City of Lights, Paris. King get sent there to acquire Brainstorm, who has arranged a party on the river during an energy conference. Again Brainstorm is trying to get control of the world’s energy. Unbeknown to King, the Soviets have also sent a team to retrieve Brainstorm. Also, Sara and Fiona, King’s adopted daughter, come to Paris. While touring the Louvre, they are drawn into scheme that produces a black hole and destroys the museum.

Through all the stories King is consistent in his convictions. He is a strong character that you are sure to like. There is a lot of science in these books. If you enjoy reading James Rollins then the Chess Team series and the Brainstorm Trilogy are for you.

I enjoyed them very much and have recommended them to my friends and family.

Audiobook Review
1 1/2 Stars

I'm giving this one a generous two stars, rounded up because of the action/thriller components, and even in the face of a horrible storyline, Jeremy Robinson is a terrific writer.

Be forewarned that this 'trilogy' is like watching 10 hours of back-to-back monster movies on SyFy. The monsters are derivatives of real mythology, animated by a (surprise) mad scientist that everyone thinks is dead. I'm ok reading a junk science book once in a blue moon as long as I know what I'm getting into beforehand. However, this one really stretched even my ability to play along with the fantasy monster story. In the last book, the Black Hole physics go beyond any rational or irrational speculation in science or in fantasy. It becomes stupid.

After this one, Sharknado seems like a real weather forecast.

p.s. I took a nap 2 times while listening to this one, and missed about 2 hours of narration. If I missed something that should change my review and make the book rocket-science, let me know.

ADVENTURES OF ONE OF THE GREATEST ACTION HEROES EVER !

Words are hard to find when describing all the high stress and just plain mind boggling scenarios King manages to overcome, not without scars, mind you; however, he gets the job done - with or without his hand-picked team of highly skilled warriors!

I find the mythology, evil master minds, action, personal responsibilities, creative story lines (stories inside of stories), creepy monsters, ghouls, atrocious creatures, thrills, and that King is a likeable character. . . keep me coming back to the written world of Jeremy Robinson - and in many cases co-authors of his books :) .

Three Novellas in one read is a terrific concept . . . Each and every story is fun. Enjoy and enter the world of unusual happenings . . . I believe you will have an awesome ride into the unknown !

Another high-five ! ! !

Here is a great way to read the whole trilogy, all pulled together in one collection. Where individually, these are all wonderful action stories together they don't quite work for a novel. So go in knowing that with each story a whole new set of sub characters are developed that don't continue to the next story. There is also huge gaps of time between when he wrote each story, where other stories in the series were being written, so there are more and more references to other stories in this series which would be help to read before hand. I totally recommend this novel to all Jack Sigler fans. Just read it last.

Following on from the heart-racing events of Threshold, King's brief respite is interrupted by the appearance of a new bad guy hell-bent on taking over the world. This time it's Graham Brown (nice nod to the author there), under the guise of Brainstorm. Through three amazing novellas, King is joined by George Pierce, Sara Fogg, Fiona Lane and Alexander Diotrephes, who all race to stop Brainstorm from changing the face of the planet. A great filler to get through before reading Ragnarok, the next full-length thriller in the Chess Team series.

These are novellas that were put together to bring the story of brainstorm. they grab you by the seat of your pants and don't let go.

the books are full of twists and turns and crazy creatures.

King is a great action hero -

If you like Brad Thor or james Rollins give Jeremy a try.

I throughly enjoyed The Brainstorm Trilogy, it was my introduction to the writing of Jeremy Robinson and since reading it, I have read many more. I think the writing partnership of Sean Ellis and Jeremy Robinson is genius. They both know exactly what works and how to get a reaction from the reader. After reading this trilogy you will be crying out for more. Jack Sigler, Callsign: King sure knows how to get himself into and out of trouble. Just give it a try.

Callsign: King - The Brainstorm Trilogy by Jeremy Robinson was an action packed way to get to know Jack Sigler and his "family" better. This latest threat "Brainstorm" really gives King a run for his money, but the best is definitely left for the end... Exciting read!

I've tried several of Mr Robinson's books, but his literary twist on things just haven't grabbed my interest or attention. The stories are okay, and for others maybe he rocks, but not for me.
