Since I actually hired in to SPSM in 1984 I knew LeFlore was a legend inside the walls. As an avid Tiger's fan & retiree of the MDOC, I had a renewed interest in this story. Very accurate portrayal of his time in the joint, very lucky man to have had such an opportunity.
This is about as '70s as a baseball memoir gets, with the added distinction of being the baseball memoir with by far the most description of prison sex ever. In all seriousness, Ron Leflore's story is an amazing one, and well worth reading for fans of baseball history.
Honest, revealing account of the early life and big league emergence of Ron Leflore. I had known just the rough story of his troubles as a youth and young man, but this book reveals the simple truths of what happened. I always admired Leflore for his blazing speed.
