In Chomp!, richly drawn illustrations of wild animals pair with very simple text to introduce toddlers to all the different things they (and their favorite critters) can do with their mouths from yawning to roaring and everything in between. All of these tot-friendly, toothy grins are sure to appeal to the preschool crowd.
This has been my son's favorite book for about a year. I carry it in our diaper bag because it works better to calm him down than any toy or app. He'll ask us to read it to him over and over again. I had to buy another copy because it finally fell apart after reading it for probably the thousandth time.
While the pull tab aspects are a little lost on the youngest "readers", the illustrations are bright and colorful and the words are simple. Great for just interacting with a book for little ones.
I read this yesterday at the library and LOVED it! I really liked how the author modeled it after I Know an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly with the cut out shapes.
All the animals did different things to chomp by using a pull tab. The crocodile smiles and you will see that on the cover of the book. I liked it A LOT.
