Lots of interesting facts. Certain sections were more squeamish than others. I personally had a hard time reading the animal section, as many of the facts pertained to injured, depressed, or pitiful animals. A younger reader might enjoy the pictures and "shock value" of the tidbits would interest an intermediate reader. I do wish the book contained some sort of bibliography, or a place to seek out more information.

I think that Ripley's special edition 2014 is an absolutely amazing book. It is an informational book with strange places, people, and things. It has information about goats in trees to a girl with a phobia of buttons. It is not the first Ripley's book that I have read. In this one and others, there is always something about two or three mutated animals. There is also some things that make it into more than one book for different, or the same, reasons. It talks about some of the history behind, "Ripley's believe it or not." It talks about some of the odditoriums all around the world. That includes the very first in Chicago and a brand new one in Baltimore built one year before the book was made.
The Layout of the book was pretty simple, but I still like some of the titles of chapters and articles. Some of my favorite chapter titles are "Wild Life", and "Science Class." I like these chapter titles because they convey what the chapter is about while still playing around with the words and what is in that chapter. For example, in "Wild Life", it will obviously have information about animals, but life is taking the animals for a wild ride. Also, in "Science Class", the chapter is about science, but it also talks about how some of the technology works and how some modern tech is used to revamp older pieces of art, like paintings.
