Rachel Dennehy had a crazy thought. If she could just start over somewhere else, she could forget about all the ghosts that chased her. When an email landed in her inbox, to tutor a difficult student whose father just happened to be a prominent businessman, the apple was a bit too enticing for Rachel to refuse. She moves to Beverly Hills, where she is tasked with turning around young Jonathan Fullerton’s bad attitude, one that stems directly from his parents’ ugly divorce and even uglier custody battle.

That Drew Fullerton is one of the handsomest and most eligible bachelors in the world means nothing to Rachel. Drew’s brother, Alex, however, assumes otherwise. This sets the two immediately at odds, though they both have young Jonathan’s best interest at heart. Unfortunately the more he tries to warn her away from Drew, the closer he ultimately propels her toward her charming boss.

Rachel stays solely to protect young Jonathan, trapping her into this sticky web despite her own history of loss and betrayal. How long will she last? More importantly, what will she be required to give to save these Fullerton men who continually tug her in three different directions?

Ginger Voight is a screenwriter and bestselling author with over twenty published titles in fiction and nonfiction. She covers everything from travel to politics in nonfiction, as well as romance, paranormal, and dark, “ripped from the headlines” topics like Dirty Little Secrets.

Ginger discovered her love for writing in sixth grade, courtesy of a Halloween assignment. From then on, writing became a place of solace, reflection, and security. This was never more true than when she found herself homeless in L.A. at the age of nineteen. There, she wrote her first novel, longhand on notebook paper, while living out of her car.

In 1995, after she lost her nine-day-old son, she worked through her grief by writing the story that would eventually become The Fullerton Family Saga.

In 2011, she embarked on a new journey—to publish romance novels starring heroines who look more like the average American woman. These "Rubenesque" romances have developed a following thanks to her bestselling Groupie series. Other titles, such as the highly-rated New Adult series, Fierce, tap into the "reality-TV" preoccupation in American entertainment, which gives her contemporary stories a current, pop culture edge.

Known for writing gut-twisting angst, Ginger isn’t afraid to push the envelope with characters who are perfectly imperfect. Whether rich, poor, sweet, selfish, gay, straight, plus-size or svelte, her characters are beautifully flawed and three-dimensional. They populate her lavish fictional landscapes and teach us more about the real world in which we live simply through their interactions with each other. Ginger’s goal with every book is to give the reader a little bit more than they were expecting, told through stories they'll never forget.

BOOK REVIEW: Enticed (Fullerton Family Saga, #1) by Ginger Voight

Oh my goodness, what a deeply moving and captivating story. I loved the fact that the main focus here is a child, one who has captured my heart entirely. Twisted family feuds, love gone wrong and a broken boy left behind - the only salvation comes in a public school teacher as she accepts the offer of a lifetime, only to be encompassed in the drama of a corporate family falling apart. This story will keep you drilled to the page until the very final chapter.

FULL REVIEW:

Yes, please heed the advice on the synopsis and proceed with caution, because trust me when I say, this book is an emotional read that will trigger those nurturing instincts! This story focuses mainly on Jonathan, a nine-year-old little boy who is another fallen victim to the woes of a messy divorce.

Rachel Dennehy is a public school teacher with a tragic past. Only three years ago her world ground to a halt when she lost the light of her life. With the help of her best friend, Nancy, she gradually regained her footing and continued her career as a teacher in a run-of-the-mill public school.

When she receives an email offering her a six-figure salary to home school a disruptive nine-year-old boy, she believes it’s too good to be true. Uplifting her roots, she leaves behind her simple life and small apartment to jet set off to a $28m mansion in Beverly Hills, to work for non other than conglomerate king, Andrew ‘Drew’ Fullerton.

However, upon arrival, the boy in question is far from what she expected and it soon becomes clear that there is more to the Fullerton family than meets the eye.

*

This story tells of the trials and disastrous effects of family feuds that go right back to early childhood. It tells a story of two Brothers at war, a messy divorce and child custody battles. And, it tells the story of a plain, slightly overweight teacher who becomes so embroiled in the Fullerton family saga, that professional / personal lines become blurred and crossed. But one thing remains, her nurturing love for Jonathan shines through, as she stops at nothing to protect her student – this lost little boy, from further damage that this escalating dispute has caused.

It doesn’t help that Drew is strong, level-headed, dominant and impossibly sexy - the ultimate package, and although looks can be deceiving, one thing remains true… He doesn’t play fair, especially when it comes to getting what he wants!

I started this book one evening, quite late… and the next thing I knew the birds are chirping merrily and I had only a few hours left before I had to get ready for work. Yes, this is all-nighter material! I couldn’t drag myself away from this story if I tried!

What is it about adorable kids and sexy Fathers? When you fall in love with one, the other comes with the package, right? Only,
Drew Fullerton is unpredictable and highly complex, but hot damn, he is the embodiment of professional suited and booted alpha, and I just wanted to take a bite. His arrogance appealed to me greatly, but the effort to connect more to his child when Rachel raises a few home truths are what really made this book for me.

That is until things get turned on their head... again, with the constant interference of Alex, Drew’s Brother. He knows how to throw a spanner in the works and I really despised him for a while, but like anything, Ginger Voight is a master at rug-pulling - you know the one… where she pulls it out from beneath your feet and knocks you flat on your plump derriere? Yeah… that one! Gifted I tell you!!

I loved this story. I loved the premise. I loved the pace. And, I loved this kid! This is a love story, but not in the traditional sense because ladies, the kid comes first! Daddy and his Brother, well… let's just say they are a complicated added bonus. ;)

Looking forward to book 2!

4.5 Stars.

5 Amazing Stars!

So far I have never read a Ginger Voight novel that I didn’t like…. and guess what? She never disappoints!!!!

Is there anything I don’t like about this book? Absolutely nothing!

I loved it!

Rachel, still being haunted by her painful past, received an email from a prominent businessman Andrew Fullerton, to tutor his troubled son, Jonathan. Seeing this as an opportunity to change her life, a break she desperately needed… she took the job. What she didn’t expect was that she would be dealing with the Fullerton family saga while protecting Jonathan, the 9 yrs. old child that is caught in the middle of it all.

Rachel Dennehy’s character is classy, sincere, humble, outspoken, strong and huge heart. She is definitely one of my favourite female character in a book!

Jonathan Fullerton is the sweetest, loveable, unspoiled, most innocently and confused and most hurt beautiful boy who dealt with his parents ugly divorce and is still dealing with their much uglier custody battle. My heart goes out for him!

What I love most about this book is the bond between Rachel and Jonathan, how Rachel protects, love and teaches Jonathan about life.

Then there’s Andrew, a.k.a. Drew… I was definitely rooting for Drew and Rachel… he would do anything to get what he wants but I didn’t know to what extent he will do to get it!

While Drew’s brother, Alex, seems to be full of hate against Drew and thinks the worst in Rachel… so many times I just want to just shut him up!

You will hate and love the Fullerton brothers.

Once I start reading I just couldn’t put it down. It is intense, edgy, emotional and full of surprises! And since this is just the start of the first of the trilogy, it’ll leave you wanting for the next book!

Most excellently written and written in Rachel’s POV.

If I’m being completely truthful, two things pulled me towards this book. First, we have the word ‘free’. Whenever a book is free on Amazon, I click the ‘buy’ button. I cannot say no to freebies. Second, we have the cover. I know you should never judge a book by the cover, but this one was so pretty. Thus, I was pulled in by two aspects that aren’t overly related to the book. Despite this, I did want to enjoy this one.

From the start, I knew I wouldn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped to.

By the end of chapter one, I’d decided that I did not like the main character. I could not tell you what in particular bugged me, but throughout the first two chapters my friend had a running commentary upon all the negativity I already felt towards her. As the book progressed, I came to enjoy her a bit more – but I never really came to enjoy her all that much.

In fact, I never really enjoyed any of the characters.

It seems to be the done thing nowadays, to create dislikeable characters. However, I really don’t believe such is what the author was aiming for. We were supposed to like the characters… yet I couldn’t. I cannot place my finger on what was the exact problem, but I never really came to like any of them. They all felt like too much. Whilst these views play in with the ending, I feel as though I was not supposed to have such negative views towards everyone from the start. You’re supposed to have mixed feelings, whereas I simply refused to like them.

Moving on, though, before I start to rant too much about this one aspect.

The story itself was okay. It wasn’t anything overly wonderful. In all honesty, had it not been for the ending, I would have considered it overly boring. There was some fun to be had, but I have read much better in other romance books. The ending was a great joy, though. I wasn’t really expecting such a revelation to come about at the end, and I’m pleased the author decided to do something different. It was a massive saving grace that I’m pleased for.

Still, even though it was a quick and easy read, I feel as though I forced myself through it. I know many will enjoy the story, but it simply wasn’t for me. I’d wanted something else, something more. Even the mature content was a let down – I’m really not sure why it says for eighteen plus, when I’ve read more detailed scenes in young adult books.

In the end, though, I doubt I’ll be reading the rest of the series as it wasn’t for me.

Yes you are seeing that right, I give 6 stars to Enticed. Every once in awhile you come across a book that speaks to you on level like no other. Enticed is one of those books for me. I loved everything word in this book. Ginger Voight captured my attention with her Groupie Trilogy so I jumped at the chance to read her new series. I love her writing!! I don't want to go to work today because I want the rest of the books right now!!

This book is full of heartache, tragedy, and the effects of divorce on a young boy who has had to grow up too fast to be the buffer for his parents. Rachel is a school teacher who is offered boat loads of money to tutor him exclusively. She gets a weekend visit to determine if she could help the child. From the 1st moment she met Jonathan, they had a connection. There was no way she was saying no to this job offer. So she packed up her belongings and moved in with Jonathan and his father Drew.

One of my favorite lines in the book is when she takes Jonathan to the library and he says to her I thought we were going somewhere fun? Her reply is:

"Books are a passport limited only by your imagination"

Rachel knew a broken child when she saw one and made it her mission to make sure he was well taken care of. Rachel has a past that is pretty brutal and I won't say what it is because you need that impact while your reading to feel the emotions as I did. She responds and reacts to what Jonathan wants and needs and soon he opens up to her completely. These words broke my heart:

"If they're yelling at me, then they're not yelling at each other."

Everyone is impressed with her abilities in making progress with Jonathan and of course everyone makes assumptions that she is a gold digger looking to make bank with Drew and nobody drove that home more than Alex, Drew's younger brother. He made sure she knew he wanted her gone from the beginning.

Only then we realize there is so much more to the Fullerton family than meets the eye. I want to scream from the roof tops "Go read this book now!"

Ginger Voight is an author to take notice of, she is easily one of my favorite authors. I've loved everyone of her books that I've read and can't wait to read more from her.

*I was given an ARC of Enticed for an honest review.

My fan gurl love affair with Ginger Voight’s writing all started with her Groupie Trilogy. I’m a huge rock star romance lover and I found Groupie in a Goodreads rock star read list. I devoured this book in one sitting, then quickly one-clicked Rock Star. After suffering a 3 day book hangover, I one-clicked a few other of her other books. I really enjoyed those reads, too! Ginger’s writing just pushes all the right emotional buttons in me. So when I got the opportunity to read an ARC of her latest book Enticed, I jumped at the chance!

Enticed begins with Rachel Dennehy, a teacher living a solitary life in Texas. Rachel is haunted by ghosts of her past and dealing with a pushy best friend who wants her help her move forward. After getting a once in a lifetime offer to privately tutor the son of a very influential and rich businessman Drew Fullerton, Rachel accepts a week long interview for the job. Los Angeles and all the trappings of a wealthy lifestyle couldn’t be more foreign to Rachel. She is a down-to-earth, independent, and effusive. After meeting both Drew and his difficult to deal with brother Alex Fullerton, Rachel is not sure if this is the right job for her. But she immediately connects with Jonathan Fuller, Drew’s rebellious and wayward son. Jonathan resonates with something deep in Rachel and she will do anything to protect him. Even if it means breaking her own heart.

If you’re read any of my past reviews, you’ll know I love a very strong heroine character. Rachel embodies all the qualities I love–smart, independent, fiercely loyal, and kind-hearted. She’s suffered a great deal in her past, but doesn’t allow it to stop her from living her life. Rachel also doesn’t allow people to speak down to her, rebutting any wrong assumptions about her immediately. But she doesn’t do it in a way that’s hateful. She’s matter-of-fact in her actions and words. I like that A LOT! I would befriend a person like Rachel in real life. Drew Fullerton is frustratingly formal, detached, and gorgeous. He is one of those people who you look at from afar, knowing that you’ll never have a man like is as your own. Drew is jaded after a disastrous marriage and doesn’t expect a plain Texas teacher to flip his world on it’s side. And because no Ginger Voight book is complete without a love triangle, Alex Fullerton unexpected interference in Rachel’s life creates another sexual distraction for her. Eventually this triangle comes to a head and the aftermath is devastating for everyone involved, including Jonathan. It’s this type of drama and angst that Ginger conjures up in her books that I live for!

The romance and sex scenes in Enticed are great. Ginger doesn’t just throw her characters in the sack. She lets the connections grow, sexual tension simmers, and feelings get deeper. When Rachel and Drew finally make love, you are so damn happy for them. They’ve both suffered at the hand of love and you root for them to overcome all their baggage. As much as I love the actual sex scenes, which Ginger describes with gusto, it’s the way she lets Rachel and Drew’s relationship flourish.

I was not disappointed by Enticed. I loved Ginger’s beautiful story of love, responsibility and acceptance. Ginger’s writing is addicting, drawing you into her world and not letting you go. I especially loved her message about divorce. Ginger delivers some serious verbal slap downs to her characters when they behave like idiots. Ginger would be a great family counselor if this writing thing doesn’t pan out. This book does end with a cliffhanger, but the next book Entangled is scheduled to be released January 28th! I give Enticed by Ginger Voight 4.5 out of 5 stars!

HOLY EFFING AWESOME SAUCE WITH CHERRIES ON TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ginger you blow my mind every time I read a book of yours. I mean you know how to rip a girls heart out and put it back together piece by piece and in the end some may be good and some may be bad. But DAM GIRL you blew my effing mind with Enticed. I could feel Rachel's pain and see her struggles but she came out on top because she was true to herself and never let anyone come in between her and Jonathan. I mean DAM parents can be so cruel when it comes to divorce and they should never ever put the child in the middle but Jonathan's mother was a BIATCH and she put him in the middle and his poor father lord I love the Fullerton Boys because they were strong and fierce and loyal to one another.

Rachel needed a new start a fresh start so when she got an e-mail offering a job as a tutor she took the offer. When she arrives she falls in love with Jonathan who is just nine years old and acting out because his parents are getting a divorce and he knows his mother cheated on his father so he lashes out but when he meets Rachel something clicks for the two of them and they build this bond with each other and Rachel becomes his surrogate mother.

When Rachel comes into Jonathan's life his uncle Alex is not happy about it. Alex thinks Rachel is a gold digging loser who needs to mosey on back to where she came from and he will stop at nothing to do that. But as times goes on and Rachel and Jonathan get closer there is someone else who is getting closer to her as well. That person wants Rachel and can't understand why and tries to stay away but it is getting real hard to stay away from the perfect woman. What will Alex do to Rachel? And what is going on with Drew? Ginger you rocked my socks off and I need book two like ASAP!

Not sure what to say.

It just didn’t click with me. Rachel ends up falling for two guys that, honestly, are total crap.

Drew ended up being such an asshole. I understand why he did what he did at first, but then it was just… no. Just no.

And then we have Alex...

I gotta say, there wasn’t a moment in this book that I didn’t want to kick the ever loving shit out of him. This guy was worse than Drew. I can’t even tell you everything that I didn’t like about him without getting incredibly pissed again.

I just don’t understand why would ANYONE fall for either of these guys.

Right now, I can’t say that I’ll read the next book. I just can’t bring myself to read Rachel’s stupidity. Maybe I’ll change my mind at some point and give the rest of the series a try, just not now.

Because right now, I just want to kick these guys in the balls and slap Rachel for being such a moron.

This book had me constantly smiling. The love and commitment the heroine showed for her student was heartwarming. Rachel was hired by Drew to be his son, Jonathan's teacher. Jonathan had been acting out and was so out of control, Rachel was his last shot before military school. Rachel sets boundaries for Jonathan and challenges him at every turn, all while trying to ignore her attraction to his rich, powerful father. Rachel keeps it professional as best she can, but eventually Drew snags her in his trap. Although there was a slow buildup to Drew and Rachel's relationship, I found that relationship building time to be real and not forced and it was a nice change from the usual boy meets girl, instant sexual attraction, fall into bed scenario. Rachel made responsible choices and she knew crossing the line could interfere with their friendship, as well as Jonathan's progress. Rachel wasn't at all Drew's "type", but her kind heart and actions captured his attention and he couldn't help but fall for her. I loved the way Rachel helped both Fullerton men to open up and see the world outside of work and making money. She brought out the kid in both Jonathan and Drew and showed them how to enjoy life and take advantage of all of the wonderful things around them. Rachel and Jonathan's relationship was beautiful. She became a mother figure to him, which he desperately needed since he didn't have a close relationship with his own mother.

Rachel brought their family back together and made it a cohesive unit. Rachel gained the sense of belonging and family that she thought she'd never have again but Drew's secrets and child custody issues threatened to destroy everything. I really enjoyed this book. My only issue was that Rachel's character seemed a little dumpy to me. The descriptions of the way she dressed and the fact that she was a homebody and didn't really have a social life, made me think she was a lot older than she was. When it was revealed that she was only 28, my jaw dropped. Hopefully she brings out her diva side in the next installment.

ARC kindly provided in exchange for a fair and honest review. Spoiler- free review. Books 1&2 will be available on January 28th. Cliffhanger.

The synopsis accurately describes what this story is about…so I’m not going to regurgitate it entirely. Rachel ends up falling for Drew (the hot CEO/business owner that hired her to home school his son). She also becomes a pseudo step mom to Jonathan (her student. She moves in and shakes up the household. Rachel ends up filling two missing pieces of her broken heart…then her world shatters when she finds out why she was really hired. I loved Rachel. She isn’t an emotional doormat waiting to get walked on. She’s strong, smart and independent. It’s hard to find heroines like this in so books these days.

I’m a huge fan of Ginger Voight and will read anything she writes. I will say I really liked Enticed. The story was a little predictable -- but totally enjoyable. I am looking forward to reading book #2 on 1/28. Book #2 will hopefully give us a HEA...because right now my heart hurts for Rachel.

UPDATE: I read Untangled (Book #2). I can’t wait for book #3. Entangled was full of some great plot twists. I can wait to read book three to see what happens with Rachel and this family.

I love this book. Rachel Dennehy is a teacher who has built a nice little life but lives with a sadness that will never go away. Out of the blue, she receives an email with an amazing job offer to move to Beverly Hills to be the live-in tutor for Jonathon Fullerton, a troubled child. After meeting Jonathon, who touches her heart, she accepts the position in hopes she can help a sweet boy and find a new start for herself. Jonathon's father, Drew, is devastatingly handsome and wealthy, which hasn't escaped Rachel's notice, but she wouldn't think of pursuing her employer. Drew's brother, Alex, is convinced that she's a gold digger, out to snag a rich husband, and does his best to chase her off. Life becomes complicated as her attraction to Drew grows and Alex's efforts to get rid of her gain ground. Rachel's fondness for Jonathon and desire to help him make distancing herself from the Fullertons difficult. The character development in this book is great, I liked Rachel immediately, then got to know her personal details and issues gradually. She's a warm, kind person, who gave the book a lot of heart. The story unfolded at the perfect pace, I was into it from beginning to end and couldn't wait to read the next book in the Fullerton Family Saga Series.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review...

I don't think I could be any more honest if I tried with this book...

This book took a whole lot of my history and put it out there for the world to see. I was so emotional reading this book and it took me longer to get through than I ever would have with a book I enjoyed so much.

When the author started talking about past events that have literally happened to me, I cried...no not cried, sobbed...I didn't think I could go on...

I communicated with the author a lot during my read of this book because there were just so many events that I swear, she has to have pulled out of my head....It was nuts..

Eventually, I got my self strong enough to finish this book and I wasn't sorry.

Her writing and the description and the feelings behind all of the events were so real to me that I don't think it could have been written any better.

Bravo Ginger Voight and thank you for the journey we have started here together. I can't wait to keep on this road with you!

Please be prepared for a lot of tissues when reading this book....but I definitely HIGHLY recommend it to the readers!!!

This was my very first read by this author and I can honestly say I will be reading more of her books. I loved this storyline and the heroine so freaking much. The build up and the bond between Rachel and Jonathan is beathtaking. The struggles they both endure and how they relate to each other will melt your heart. They are so beautifully written and there are so many layers to these characters you can't help but fall slowly in love with them. I connected with Rachel and the little boy Jonathan, but his father Drew enhances the story and has you licking your lips in anticipation. It flowed so naturally but I felt their inner struggles and the dynamics of Drew's divorce was enough drama for them to deal with, without the added "drama" with a certain someone. However, it kept me entertained and fully interested in the story and the characters throughout the entire book. I really loved how all her characters had so many layers and depth to them. Her writing style stands out and is something I will not soon forget. She has a way of making her words stick. I'm really looking forward to reading the second book, "Entangled."

I’m 1/4 of the way through and I cant bring myself to finish. It is all just really bad so far. To name a few specifics: the conversation is oddly formal and the main character is awful. It feels like you can see what she intends but none of it really quite works. Like when she insists on cooking every meal instead of the cook - she presents it as giving the cook a break and being responsible for herself. Really though, she’s stepping on toes and she’s completely insensitive to what her behavior implies. Like when she comments that the boy won’t eat meatloaf because “he hasn’t tried MY meatloaf” one would infer that the cook’s meatloaf isn’t good enough. Or when the boss come home and she insisted on cooking because “I wanted you to have a home cooked meal”. WTF, the professional’s meals aren’t home-cooked? And she keeps saying things that I think are supposed to be mic-drop worthy but are really not very impressive. There was just nothing to draw me in, and it wasn’t well written from what I saw.

Wow this one took me by surprise, it's everything a contemporary should be, well written, without any overused words so often mentioned in so many contemporaries and over abundance of sex scenes trying to make up for a storyline or the lack of it. It was romantic but not cheesy, emotional but not full of useless angst. I have a feeling it may end up being drawn out with two more books, but I hope not.

I just got around to this little treasure! This has been my first experience with works by Ginger Voight, and she absolutely did not disappoint. This is such a spellbinding story that spoke to my heart. Everyone has scars from their journey through life, and this story captures several of those in one twisted tale. I was mesmerized by the connection between Jonathan and his teacher, and the rooting for the healing that they are are in desperate need of. Unfortunately, the dark and sinister world in which they live of the sophisticated and wealthy is not easy to overcome, and the dangers lurking around every corner are ruthless, to say the least. While trying to mend their broken roads it is gut-wrenching to see the extents at which one will go to come out on top. Their story carried me through various emotions that seemed like a never-ending whirlwind in which my own better judgment was lost and misguided. Leaving me, as a reader, unable to see the upcoming bends in the road and the wolf in sheep's clothing. Concluding on a cliff hanger that will leave readers with a resounding dedication that will require the continuation of this story in hope for the resolution to the unsettlement that will reside in their souls after discovering the lack of limits that one will take to win at all costs.

I am late to the game, just reading this series now in 2018, almost 2019....it was released in 2014...I am so glad I did. This series was an anomaly. In that I hated or disliked the 3 main characters almost in every book yet loved the writing style, the flow and the story.

This book, Rachel Dennehy is still reeling from a huge loss when she gets an email that sounds to good to be true. Teach a single student, son to a rich businessman, in California. The pay is huge, the benefits too. She flies out on a private jet, alone. Meets the son and knows she must help and teach this boy.

Drew Fullerton is the typical alpha businessman, sexy, rich and powerful also a crap father. Worse is his horrible wife and his estranged and crappy brother, Alex. The more he sees of Ms Dennehy and he miracle work with her son the more the lines blur. He is use to the easy woman after his money and fame. She isn't she is there solely to watch, teach and care about the son, Jonathon.

As the lines blur, thanks in large part due to his brother's interference a secret will leave us hanging for book #2....

*****5 -Angst filled & Sexy as sin- Stars
~I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review~

“You certainly don't mind making a statement”
“We weren't created to live small,” he responded with a confident smirk.
He truly was the master of his universe. He was a man without limitations thanks to his money and power.

That was flippin Ah-Mazing! It was like an adrenaline shot of angst straight to my heart with a heavy dose of deception and secrets layered with sexiness and insecurities in the adults all surrounding a sweet, kind, lost little boy. This was the first book I've ever read of Ginger Voight's, I've got all three of her Groupie books sitting on my kindle but like so many of my books they got lost somewhere in my TBR pile......That will be changing post-haste 'cause now I'm wondering what the hell I was waiting for?! This woman rocked my world with this book.

My entire life changed with an e-mail.

Maybe I was ready for a change... a really, really big one.

For once, though I had no reason whatsoever to trust good fortune, I'd give fate the benefit of the doubt.

Rachel Dennehy, seventh grade school teacher, just goes through the motions in life. Events from a tragic past has left her a lonely, emotionally scarred woman looking to possibly start over when one single email changes her life...A job offer from a well known CEO of one of the nations largest companies, Andrew Fullerton

He had the whole world at his tiny fingertips and yet he still ached with an unfulfilled yearning. It just proved, once again, money could not fill the void of love and emotion security. The self-described prison in which he lived was just a helluva lot nicer.

She accepts the job hoping a change of scenery will turn her life around. So she moves from Texas to California to take on the position of home school teacher to Drew's son Jonathan. Drew wants her to not only teach his nine year old son, who has been kicked out of various private schools, but help bring his behavior under control. As a result of his parents bitter divorce & custody battle, Jonathan is acting out in a big way. It doesn't take Rachel long to realize how lost and lonely he is, she wants nothing more than to gain his trust and help him. What she wasn't prepared for was Drew Fullerton himself.

If I thought I was fully prepared to meet Drew Fullerton face to face, I was sorely mistaken. The minute his six-foot-two frame entered the magnificent dining room, he sucked the air right out of the joint with an aura so powerful I immediately felt a part of me wilt in response. I had never had this kind of reaction to anyone before...

Drew is definitely the master of his universe, a power to be reckoned with, and she can't deny his sex appeal. Lucky for her, she has no interest in getting involved with anyone let alone her boss, and she is sooo far from his normal type of woman it's not even funny, so she vows to not let him affect her.....good luck with that. She never expected that moving to the Fullerton estate would throw her head-first into a family war. If the nasty custody battle tearing Jonathan in two wasn't bad enough, she also has to contend with Drew's brother Alex who has her pegged as a gold-digging whore right from the start.

“You might want to think carefully about the sides you choose, sweetheart. No amount of money can make up for your soul.”
“My soul's just fine, Mr. Fullerton. That little boy you love so much? He's scared to death to go with his mother alone. And his feeling are the only ones that matter here. He needs adults who care for his welfare, not a bunch of bratty children fighting over one favorite toy.”
“You think you know, but you know nothing.”
“I know I'm not some dumb hick you can roll over just because your brother's out of town. Think about that next time you want to pull a stunt like this.”

And just when she thinks her hands are full enough, Drew's seductive charm starts to wear on her resolve. But will she survive the fallout when the Fullerton family skeletons come plowing out of the closet and straight into her? From start to finish this was one crazy, intense, emotional, smack you in the face with some dark and nasty secrets, thrill ride & that ending?! It's a very good thing we don't have too long to wait for the next book!!!

“Tell me, Rachel, do you long to be held? To be kissed?” He bent his head toward me and whispered, “To be taken?”....
….“Tell me you want me, Rachel.”
“Drew...”
“Tell me,” he begged in a hoarse whisper as his hands slid down the arch of my back and over the curve of my hip.
My hands braced on his chest, but instead of pushing myself away, my palms delighted in how solid and real he felt. It sent a jolt through my entire body. “I don't want you,” I eked out in a pitiful whisper.
“Liar”
