When Samara McKinley discovers an Alaskan address that her grandfather had left behind for her when he died, she knows that she must travel to find out what is waiting for her there. On the way, she meets new friends and discovers that someone from her past may be more loyal to her than she ever realized. With the help of new and old friends, Samara navigates her way through Alaskan territory and encounters old rivals.
This awesome book that kept me reading until the end. Jody and Jayme Morse have out done their selves with this 3rd book in this series. I was glued to the pages until the end. Samara has lot of major changes in her life. With more and more secrets being revealed that change the outlook of things that never knew was. I so can't wait for the next book to come.
Loved it and I'm so excited for Colby and Emma...should be interesting! I love that Samara is finally coming into her own and that Luke is so supportative of her and encouraging her to be a strong leader!
What I liked: -Samara. It seems as if Samara is going to get stronger and become a better leader in each book. At first I wasn’t a fan of hers, but she has definitely grown on me. She’s definitely the rightful leader of her pack, and she’s growing into that role more and more each book. I like her relationship with Luke—it’s intense like all first love, but it isn’t all consuming and abusive. I have a feeling that Luke keeps her grounded with his unconditional support. I hope Samara keeps maturing throughout the rest of the series. -Writing style. I can’t believe how much more I love the writing in this series. There are a few slightly clunky moments that I felt could have been written a little better, but for the most part, the writing was smooth and flowed effortlessly. While reading this book, I noticed quite a few instances where either the wrong word was used or a word was left out and those mistakes weren’t caught. However, for a self-published book, the mistakes were pretty minimum and they didn’t really subtract from the story all that much. I’ve seen far worse. -Landscape. I loved the look at packs from Alaska. It was interesting to see how some of the more old-fashioned packs operated, and I couldn’t help but feel bad for Kyana and the others in her position. If werewolves were real, I could definitely see a pack being run that way, more likes wolves and less like actual people. I was glad so much of the book took place away from their hometown, because the scenery was starting to get a little stale. Seriously, it feels like things only happen at Starlight Lake and nowhere else.
What I disliked: -Emotions. It seems like the minor characters were a little inconsistent with how they felt about one another. One guy claims to be falling in love with a girl he’s only known for a couple of days and is upset over her being with someone else, and then like the next day, he’s okay with it? I know their teenagers and emotions are probably always running high and wild, but I found it to be a little weird that they go from being just friends to more and then back to friends in the blink of an eye. It’s not very believable to me. -Pace. Even though it seems like a lot happened in this book, there wasn’t much action or anything. The only things that really held my attention were the mysterious parts dealing with Joe McKinley’s past and the things that he left for Samara. The rest of the book seemed like it was just mostly talking, planning, and traveling. Not that that stuff was bad, it was just a little on the boring side. This book felt like one giant transition book that was leading into an awesome next book.
Overall, this was a pretty good book. Not as good as the previous one, but it was still definitely worth the read. The characters are strong, the plot is solid, and the writing is great. I would definitely recommend this book to any fans of werewolves, supernatural things, or paranormal romance. I’m off to read the next one. 4.5
Continuing the Howl story, Samara follows clues her grandfather left her to Alaska where her pack meet up with friends. The war between the Vyka and Ima continues as Samara wonders what will happen if she ever had to come up against her brother or former best friend Declan. Some of the mystery behind her grandfather's power, begins to become clear as they journey across Alaska.
I am really enjoying this series from the Morse Sisters. I am continually surprised by the twists and turns of the world they are creating. More mates are found in the book and I am really excited about how that is going to continue. I don't want to say too much but definitely give these a try if you haven't but I recommend starting with Howl.
This third book is more action-packed than the previous instalments. I enjoyed reading about Samara's quest to find the legendary talisman left by her grandfather. We also get an intriguing glimpse into the Koto pack and their customs, which will be explored further in the sequel to the Howl series - The Koto Chronicles: The Complete Seriesthe Koto Chronicles Series.
While the unique pack in Alaska is intriguing, first, we must see how Samara's pack, the Ima, will deal with their growing threat. The main enemy, Jason's Vyka pack, is getting stronger in number and more dangerous with the help of an insider, a betrayal felt deeply by someone close to Samara.
Meanwhile, I'm happy that Samara's parents are finally in the loop about her new life. And even though I'm not the biggest fan of Emma, her so-called best friend, I must admit that it's nice that Samara has someone from her old life joining her.
Wolfsbane (Howl Series Book 3) ❤️🔥❤️🔥 absolutely loved this book!! I really wish books like this had been available when I were younger. The story line is engrossing and the characters are well developed. I can't wait to start reading the next book in the series! This book 📕 was an incredible cliff-hanger that leaves you begging for more. Definitely recommend this series and the two sisters..
If I said it once I said it a hundred times, believe in your intuition, if you feel something you should listen to it 9 times out of 10 you end up being right. Sam should of listened to herself on how she felt about people. Such good books I can't wait to read more and find out about her grandfather and the talisman.
Weer een leuk boek! Je komt steeds meer te weten over de groep en het verleden. Sommige dingen zag ik wel echt aankomen maar het leest lekker weg en ik blijf mezelf afvragen hoe het verder gaat.
Now we're getting started. More action is taking place in this part of the series.
Samara ended up telling her father about her being a werewolf. Turns out, he knew about them all along. He just wasn't sure if she was one. Her father finds the book that Samara's grandfather had left behind for her. Of course, it'd be a book about werewolves. While flipping through the book, Samara finds an address written in the book. Trusting her instincts, she has her pack join her on going to Alaska.
While there, the Ima pack meets one of Samara's grandfather's friends. The friend tries to help them learn the name of who might have killed Samara's grandfather. The friend's daughter also takes a liking to some of the Ima pack members.
Samara and her pack discover the old cabin that her grandfather left to her. Inside the cabin happens to be an immortal dog and wolfsbane seeds. They find clues left behind from Samara's grandfather on how wolfsbane could help them. They find these clues in good timing. A rival pack from back home has found where they are in Alaska and has come for them. The Ima pack runs to hide, finds trouble at the Koto pack, helps the daughter of the Koto's pack Alpha, and then has a run in with their own rival pack.
Members of the Koto pack help save the Ima pack during a time of need.
I bought this because it was $2.99 for all 4 books on my Kindle. It looked like a good series. Which don't get me wrong I liked the story line and the Characters. It's a bit repitive. I skimed most of it becuase they would repeat or say the samething they said at one time in the book. They did this a lot so I skimed through all 4 books. Around the 3rd book is when it got interesting for me. But almost all these books were pretty predictiable. There needs to be some corrcetion in spelling and grammer. Like they will say " do you want to be on my pack?" It should be "do you want to be in my pack?" They kept using on instead of in when saying stuff about being in the pack this got annoying. These actually could of been made into 2 big books or heck even one big book.
This one wasn't as good as the previous one, but it was still pretty good. I definitely liked the journey aspect of this book, and the look at a different culture, I guess. The new characters introduced were interesting, and I like how Samara continues to grow throughout each book. The other characters could be interesting, but we don't seem to know a lot about them. They're just kind of there.
What a way to end the previous book. Things just keep getting more and more interesting.... what is to come next? will there be another twist in the story? will there be another turn in the story? I don't know what took me so long to read this series, I am truly disappointed in myself for waiting this long. Perfect Ending LOL
I was so shocked at the turn of events in this book. New members to the pack, betrayal from from pack members, new mates that will crack you up and some that will surpise you! I can't wait for the next book. How soon will it be out? You left us hanging. Need more.
I really liked this series and will recommend it to other people. It is getting interesting now. I couldn't put this book down. I think this series gets better with each book .....can't wait for the next one.
Jason is hiding and planning. Sam's secret was revealed to her family. Her best friend was now a wolf. To become strong she needs to uncover the secrets of her grandfather. Then she finds about the traitor in the pack. Whether she resolved all the problems?? Nope
Great novel, although at times it seems like I'm reading a novella because I just fly right through it. A whole bunch of betrayals happened in this novel, so it was kind of shocking.
