Thomas Maxwell figured that starting college was a good time to stop living with his mother. He and his best friend moved into a place with a couple of other guys. But the bachelor pad life didn’t suit Thomas, especially when he discovered he was living with stoners and slobs. Then they needed another roommate, and never expected Cassie, the Golden Girlfriend of a local drug kingpin. And Thomas never expected to become friends with Cassie, and then become more than friends—almost sisters.
I started writing as a child, and won my first national writing award in sixth grade. I edited and wrote for my high school and college creative writing magazines, but then life got in the way and didn’t write fiction for years—I wrote for hire. Magazine articles (in music and travel), advertising copy, corporate newsletters and software manuals paid the bills. I have always been interested in the discovery of a person’s true nature and sexual identity, and began exploring different literary genres and structures to tell those important stories.
TosayJessica and Cassie have a rock solid foundation now is an understatement. I was really about the room situation with all the drugs flying around. Ihaveso enjoyed reading Karin’s stories that I have done so and still revisit them to this day.
Karin writes quite well. Her stories are captivating and more than just TG, she makes good with a plot in them. Wish she used quotation marks in this Story, however.
I liked this book. It was a good description of an intersex/trans individual growing up and discovering themselves. The only problem was that the book lacked any driving drama. It drags in places as a result. The main character faces virtually no obstacles as they move forward towards transition. Her roommate helps her, her mother accepts her. I would recommend it to a transperson looking for a nice pleasant read, but if you are looking for an action packed story, you might want to look elsewhere.
