If you’re a fan of contemporary romance by Bella Andre, Lora Leigh, Maya Banks, Sylvia Day, then you won’t want to miss Jasmine Haynes’s heart-wrenching family saga, The Jackson Brothers.

A family torn apart by tragedy...

Three years ago, Lou Jackson, eldest son, died in a work accident. And nothing has been the same since for the Jacksons. Or they’ll be torn asunder.

Randi Andersen has a thing for bad boys, tall, dark, sexy, and handsome. But bad boys invariably make for bad relationships. She’s tired of being somebody’s ex, ex-girlfriend, ex-lover, or ex-wife. Now, if she could just fall in love with a nice guy.

David Jackson has lived under the crushing weight of responsibility for holding his family together since his brother’s death three years ago. Randi is too sexy to resist, but the last thing he needs now is a relationship. Too much is at stake with his family falling apart.

Can they each forgive their own past mistakes in order to take the leap of faith that love demands?

“Somebody’s Ex” is a contemporary erotic romance of approximately 32,000 words and contains super sexy material.

I read this book awhile back when it was in a print book featuring the three Jackson brothers.

I really like David and Ronni’s story the only problem is that it is so short. Out of the three novella stories, Somebody’s Ex had the potentiometer to be fleshed out into a full novel.

A nice follow up to Somebody's Lover. It didn't have the same amazing flow and heart but I liked it nonetheless. Recommended to anyone who's read the first book.

This is David's story. David was a bit of a mystery in the first book, which is fine because his story unfolds in this book. David is still dealing with the loss of his older brother Lou and his need to fill his place in the family.

When he nearly runs into Randi and her truck which has run out of gas in the middle of the road, he is instantly attracted to her.

At first, I wasn't too sure about Randi, she is described as dressed kind of slutty and the way she flirted with David made her seem kind of cheap. She also appeared to be ditzy. But, when Randi's background is revealed it improved my opinion of her. Her subsequent interaction with David revealed her to be a sweet and vulnerable person. I liked that she wasn't afraid to show David how she felt about him.

The one issue I have with this story is they jump right into bed and shortly after into love. I really don't mind the whole love at first sight thing if the author sets up some background and sells it, but it didn't feel natural here. The story would have benefitted from a few more chapters and stretching it out over a few weeks instead of a few days.

3.25+ RATING- I didn't like Somebody's Ex as much as I did the first book in this series unfortunately. The writing was still solid and it was still a sexy read but the relationship develops so quickly and the book is so short, I never felt invested in the story. Also, the heroine is a bit of a doormat and that is a big pet peeve of mine, I just kept thinking that she came off as pretty pathetic at times. I don't think most readers would have the same issue but I just wasn't a huge fan of hers.

I'm on the fence about reading book three because I'm not sure I love the plot. I may instead look into other books by this author and leave the third book in The Jackson Brother series for a later time.

Jase the youngest of the brothers, stops to have a drink at some whole in the wall bar. When he sees an attractive but scantily dressed woman walk in. It looks like Taylor but, no it couldn't be. Taylor, mom, wife to his dead brother, could not be in a bar, hitting on some guy. Why would she? He had been doing as much as he could to fill Lou's shoes, fixing stuff around the house, helping with the boys, taking them to baseball, coaching the team, what else could she need? How much more could he do to help ease the guilt of getting his brother killed?

But when decisions are done and situations come up that he can't handle, he decides that it is time to step aside and take a break from the family. Maybe some time away will help him deal with the things going on in the family.

Randi, divorced, living is a shack, working for her family who doesn't respect her, a car that is way past its last leg, and just enough money to barley scrap by, is stranded on the side of the road. Taking her dog to the vet, should not be this much of a chore. When her car breaks down and she almost gets hit by a passing car, she has no idea how one chance encounter can change a 2 lives.

Somebody's Wife

Connie wants a baby. She is a mom of 2, and her baby is about to start 1st grade. Now is the time. A close call a few months ago has only made the need greater. Mitch and her have always wanted to big family, but now he barley touches her. She doesn't understand and fears he may be cheating on her. She will just have to seduce her husband and get things moving in the baby direction.

After his brothers death, a crippling fear has entered Mitch that he can not shake. How will his family survive if anything happens to him? Penny pitching and worrying about money has put a huge strain of his marriage to Connie. She now wants a baby too. How will they afford it? How will they get by? How will their marriage survive if he can't be honest with his feeling and fears? He would never cheat on his wife, but after he tells her he doesn't want any more children, will his marriage survive?

These 3 stories are about a family who has lost a cherished family member, who is a brother, son, husband, father and how the family has coped or hasn't. The 3 stories should be read in order because the stories build upon each other. They are especially about a family grieving, getting past it and coming out with even more love on the other side. I will say book 1 was my favorite. Book 1 one was HOT!! Like scotching HOT. I am glad my husband was near by HOT. Book 2 and 3 both had their moments and were both very good but WOW! One of the things I liked most about these books was that the family dynamics. It was like a glimpse into the family next door and the problems that they face. The Jackson family doesn't realise how strong it truly is until they face the trials of life. Death happens and families can implode with the weight of it or band together to help one another. Wonderful stories, lovely romance that will melt your heart and steamy enough to get your toes curling. Thanks for the great read!

Having devoured the first book in the series, I wasted no time in diving into David's story to see if he could live up to Jace's high standards. And it doesn't disappoint; he most certainly does.

I loved him; he's sexy, considerate, thoughtful and possesses exceptional skills in the bedroom. Whilst confident, he still has his weaknesses and is distancing himself from his wonderful family as he struggles to cope with his catapult to oldest child following his brother Lou's death. Randi is a sweet-natured ditzy lady with a broken marriage behind her and less than supportive parents. But she has fire in her and when her car breaks down, David is her knight in shining armour.

They waste no time in diving between the sheets and it doesn't scrimp on the hot, sexy and steamy content. But once again it's balanced with a deeper storyline that pulls on the heartstrings, is touching and romantic and I was willing them to find a happy ending. Well worth reading.

Now all is left is to find out whether middle brother Mitch has inherited his brothers bedroom prowess...

Whoa Mamma!!! That was a hot little read!!! Seriously smexy!! I don't like caviar, but I might try it id delivered in that manner!

David and Randy have lust at first sight. Things move pretty fast. The whole book pretty much takes place over three days. But I am fine with that. More yummy steam earlier!!!

Great mixed narrative, I love getting both leads POV. It makes for a richer more fulfilling story!

This is mostly a fun and light read, a little angst, but not much. They work out their issues and all is good. Just what you expect in a quick romantic read!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Shana Savage, who does a wonderful job.She does a fabulous job with the hot scenes, really great energy! Swift pace in the read adds to the movement of the story. She definitely gives good ears!!

I can not wait to see how things end up with Mitch and Connie!

Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.

There is just something extra special when good guys figure out their flaws and find their way!!!

These two scorch through every encounter, even the seemingly innocent ones. I mean, they burn up everytime, everywhere, anytime, even when they say they won't

Randi and David are imperfect people who see something in the other that speaks to them. Randi recognizes some of her flaws, but it takes David to give her the strength to find the others, and do something about it

David doesn't even realize there is anything going on with him. While he can easily see fault with others, it takes a rude awakening for him to see what he has been doing and why it is wrong

Lots of emotional moments to balance out the sexy times, and lots of overlap with them as well. Randi's scene with her dad at the end, well, it was one of the sweetest things ever. Not over the top, not crazy in your face, but a simple thing, a simple realization, that will bring an aww moment you won't forgot!

loved the book, wish it were longer,
This book is about another brother in this series, the intense and broody brother. I loved this one too, but it was not as long as it could have been. In this book the hero is not already head-over-heels as in most Jasmine Haynes books, and it was too short, so he went from sleeping with her to true love in the blink of an eye. The heroine was my favorite kind, sweet and slightly clumsy and needed the love of a good man. This book was pretty hot too, but not as much as the first.

The Jackson Brothers #2

David has come across a woman in the road. He truck has broken down. He helps her out. She is gorgeous. Randi thinks he is a hottie. She invites him to dinner to repay him. But her dinner did not work out the way she expected. The food was terrible but the love making was extraordinary. She heard him leave during the night but when he spoke to her dog before he left, she fell for him.
David could not get Randi off of his mind. Was it love for him too?

I loved this story. Two people that really needed someone found each other.

I liked this one mostly due to Randi. She had the possibility to grate on my last nerve, but I found her bumbling ways to be funny. I loved how David and Randi both jumped in with both feet and were able to realize things about themselves after a fight and getting what the other was saying.

The one bad thing was that there weren't more of the Jackson family.

It was sweet. Kinda wish David was a bit more angry and a bit more of a brooder and maybe struggled a but more with his love and had a deeper break through over the death of his brother. Also I wish that maybe Randi had a bit more struggle with her own issues because the both of them figured it all out in 3 days. Their whole life issues in 3 bloody days. That was a bit of a let down.

David and Randi were a pretty good couple. the sparks between them were pretty good. I liked catching up with the extended Jackson clan. the relationship between Randi and her parents was very odd to say the least, but I did like how David stepped up. This one want as good as Jace and Taylor's book, but still pretty good.
