From the streets of the Bronx to a Wall Street tycoon. This bad boy might've left the streets behind but he carries that code inside. When his young wife disappears to teach him a lesson, there will be hell to pay when the thin veneer of civility is stripped away and she glimpses the real man beneath the suit.
A quick read that went from dub-con to fairytale in 51 pages! I generally love both, my issue here is that I wasn't quite sure how to take this one. It is another unapologetically wild Jordan Silver read!
Perhaps that's why I love her books - Jordan clearly doesn't give a shit about convention... and more power to her for it! You know what you're going to get if you're reading her books so there's no point in complaining afterward!
I was loving the fact that Stryker had an eleven inch cock! And my God he wasn't afraid to use it...!
2,5 Stars! Much better than her other books.. I really am happy to see the evolvement in Jordan Silver's work..
Stryker was short and started out with a very upseting scene.. But after a while things got better..
Nadia comes back to their house after she left for 2 weeks without saying anything and Gabriel decides that she needs a good lesson.. Well nothing so hardcore like the above gif..
They seem to struggle a bit and then everything falls into place..
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK - Of course his penis is 11 inches.. I mean is there another number? - And of course he has to do something with a bikers club.. But in a good way. - His was forceful at first. - An o.k. read.
I was really angry that the H raped the h so brutally at least twice b/c he was angry she disappeared for 2 weeks. She was crying during the ordeals and he didn't care. He claimed it was to teach her lesson since he was so heartbroken and scared when she was missing. He was so childish in his need to punish the h. The H loved the h but treated her more like a child than a wife. The wife just let him abuse her and never even tried to stand up for herself.
Meh. This opens with a VERY angry Stryker hell bent on punishing Nadia for leaving him two weeks earlier without a word, and he mainly goes about this by forcing her to have rough, unprepared, painful at times sex. We’re told she enjoys it, but there’s not a lot of care put into it, so FYI. That goes on for about 10 chapters, then he forgives her and the OW drama-llama starts.
Bottom Line- This one is short with all you expect from a J.S. book. Unsexy smut with cock snot, and cervix punching, and 11 inches, etc. etc. Numerous editing issues with an OTT alpha H, a weak h, and crazy wannabe OW. The only thing missing was his poor treatment of her at the start as her H’s are usually OBSESSED with their H’s.
There is a difference between an alpha male and a caveman. Between being steamily possessive and insanely abusive. Stryker is the type of a man who shows his affection in such a way that if a woman shot him dead with a shotgun, she would be acquitted by any jury. That's not alpha. Sorry Jordan Silver.
Editing, editing, editing. This books needs some serious editing. This was my first Jordan Silver and I think the author has the bones of a decent story. Stryker is a real over the top alpha and gets mad at his wife so treats her like dirt. Some of the things he does to her - oh my. But I have to say that I sort of liked him. That may seem odd given the way he acts but hey, to each his own! I have a penchant for aggressive alphas and Stryker fits the bill. Just didn't like some of the stuff he did. I had some difficulty getting into the story because of missing commas, odd wording of sentences, fragmented or run-on sentences, etc.
It was terrible -- There was enough drama to make The story longer. The hero is The worst hero I have EVER read ( he rapes his wife in the beginning because he's mad at her) and this isn't like older bodice rippers with the forced seduction - nope he WANTED to hurt her. Basically by the end of the book I wanted the heroine to LEAVE the hero - If she had , I would have rated it higher.

Another 100% alpha hero. He is cruel and obsessed and possessive with his wife. I know most readers hate her cruel heroes but I enjoy them, they are so much fun! Love Jordan Silver!
Gabe Stryker grew up poor living in the Bronx in NYC, now he's a Wall Street tycoon. He's rich, successful, owner of his own company & living in a big house on Long Island. He's been with his wife Nadia for 2 years, she was a successful model when he met her but she gave that up when they got married. A strange woman calls Nadia & tells her that Gabe is in love with her & that they're having an affair. Instead of asking Gabe about it Nadia leaves him & goes to Paris for two weeks to think about things. Gabe is furious that she would just leave like that with no explanation or without asking him if it was true so he decides Nadia must be punished.
Well, this one was rough. As in "OMG! I can't believe he's doing this?!" rough.. But I did like how things came together and how their HEA came to a close.
I must say that the "Villain" in this, could they have been any more stupid? I found it hard to take them seriously. Much like our hero, Gabe, he treated them as if they were flies, nothing more. It was quite comical at times.
That being said, it was a decent enough read. The start is definitely brutal. Not for faint of heart, so be WARNED. But I would recommend this read.
Wow, I only read the sample but that was pretty much the most ridiculous and disgusting thing I've encountered. That's impressive. And terrible. Gross.
Gabe/Striker and Nadia. Not my fave by this author, that's for sure. The first 3rd of the book is Stryker disciplining his wife without letting her give any explanations for her running away. It was VERy OTT. The rest of the book is lovey dovey a-la-alpha style and the OW getting her just desserts. But I never really forgave Stryker for his asshole behavior at the start of the book...
I don't usually read short books but this one caught my eye... and I must say I liked it. I am not gonna go into the details but let me just warn you it's not book for everyone.
too cruel, heartless, brutal for my tastes...then the switch to loving concern too quick. also, too short...maybe if it were longer we could have had more build up to the beginning scenes and the denouement was too quick.first read 2016. Re-read in july, 2019. Reread in January 2024.
Yet another disappointment from Jordan Silver. The dub con/non con line is extra thin here. When he’s forcing acts on her as punishment and she literally says, “But you know I don’t want this” and he does it anyway…that’s not okay. Especially since the only thing she’s being punished for is her taking a trip without him to clear her head about doubts being put in her head by HIS ex. She didn’t cheat, ask for a divorce, etc. she brought her concerns to him and was brushed off and that caused her to spiral. He then spent a brief period of time restricting her funds (financial abuse), her movements (physical abuse), and treating her limits in the bedroom like they do not matter (s€xual abuse) and that’s supposed to be reasonable/an enjoyable partner? It’s one thing for some of the alphas to withhold org@sm or seed as punishment but this particular book went too far. The only reason I didn’t rate it a 1 is because the grammar/continuity were up to JS’s usual standards.
Now this one was much much better than the other domestic discipline stories from JS. Far better and more thought out than the absolute trash and literary vomit that "Betrayed" was. I mean that story was a cringefest of how many times you can use the word Fuck and shit and how you can write male and female POVs that seem like the exact same person. I mean the both used same vocabulary and character points. This one had a better characterization and the vocabulary and POVs looked like actually some thought went to it. And instead of the usual pornfest with painful sex and womb battering, there were actual conversations and moments between the MCs. All in all I like this one.
Anyone reading Jordan Silver's books knows that her heroes are over the top jealous and possesive guys. This is one thing and acting like a raging caveman is totally another. I hated the forced sex scenes and the rough, harsh treatment later. I found out , by the reviews of the latest books of the author, that her style has become quite wild and barbarian. I think, I'll double check her books, from now on, before I read them.
Not one of my favs. This wasn’t the typical JS OTT H . This H treated her like crap in half the book. Yes he was angry and hurt but the way he treated her I really disliked. Maybe if it wasn’t a JS book I wouldn’t feel this way but I’m so used to her Hs being OTT protective and in love with the h. This guy just took out his anger and frustration out on his wife and she took it and it was her who had to apologize not him 🤷♀️ seriously? 😒
The girl Nadia is an idiot. I'm glad he gave her shot because what she did was idiotic. He should have been more attentive to the threats and her emotional state. There should have been communication involved. But the plot was inventive just wished it was more in depth.
Lies made her run from the love of her life, when she should've trusted him and not listened to lies and gossips. But one thing I can say, he didn't give up, she realized she gotta learn to trust and believe in him, not to give up. This was a really great read, it's about trust, love and believing in each other, to fight for each other, nicely done.
Overall the book was good. It was milder than most of her books and the passages in the book weren’t as thick with descriptions. The author go right to the point. Love that.
Feeling kind of disappointed other here. I didn't like the hero or heroine very much, the first couple times they had sex I felt bad for the heroine. I'm usually okay with controlling alpha men but something a book this one rubbed me the wrong way.
