Invasion USA #3

The Battle for Survival!

Rate this book
At exactly midnight on December 31, every electronic device made in China for the last 30 years stops working.

From the U.S. electrical grid and all its back-ups, engine control-management systems, early warning systems on U.S. satellites, every motor vehicle, aircraft and ship made after 1985, to even simple memory chips inside children’s teddy bears—every electronic fuse, resistor, or connector that was “Made in China” becomes dormant… forever.

The shutdown of the United States of America, and 97% of the entire world, is accomplished by 12:30 am U.S. Eastern time on the first day of the New Year.

It takes only 30 minutes to completely dismantle the whole of modern Western civilization as we know it.

Open Disclosure - The author of this book provided me with a copy of this book prior to its release. My condition for doing so was that I would write an honest review of the book even if he didn't like it.

Review- This is the third in a series of four books in the Invasion USA series. The series covers a scenario where a Chinese company has produced electronics at such a cheap rate that almost every company in the world has purchased them. Unbeknownst to the world these components would fail resulting in a dystopian future.

The third book in the series describes a south American army of thugs coursing across Mexico with a goal of taking over America from the south. Meanwhile our heroes from the first two books continue to rebuild the infrastructure at a remarkable and at times unbelievable pace.

The books in this series just get better as the series progresses. My comments about the editing on the earlier books in the series have obviously reached the ears of the author as the editing in this book is far superior to the first three.

The author's ability to relate large volumes of logistical data in an interesting way is remarkable. His style in this regard is similar to John Wesley Rawles' book The Patriot. The best part of his book are the battle scenes which are action packed, thrilling, and surprisingly easy to follow. Battle scenes in other books can be confusing but like Dale Brown or W.E.B Griffin, the author of this book describes them in a way that grips the reader and leaves him begging for more.

I would love to see this series captured into a movie. The story is unique and there are enough action scenes in it to create a thrilling summer adventure movie.

3.5stars. Detailed narrative

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers
This is the third book in the series and I found the first two to be engaging enough to keep me turning the pages.
I can't honestly say the same about the third. As with the first two books there is a lot of repetition and detailed information about everything from the type of planes available, their range and load bearing to the repatriation of troops including the food stocks and weapons.
After two books I found I had no desire to read the third.
There is little to promote good characterisation, everyone is a good egg with only the survival of the U.S. in mind.
There is no dissension anywhere, apart from some 'bad guys' out for themselves and shooting at the troops in an abstract way.
There's a lot of flying all over the place and some meetings with the Presidents and other leaders such as Generals and Admirals.
The plotline meanders all over the place and being totally honest I gave up just over half way through.
There is no swearing and no sex scenes.
I don't think I will be purchasing the next book in the series.

This is book 3 in a series of 4....just as the first two, book three kept you wanting more, and more that pages could not be read fast enough. The characters (HEROS) of the first 2 are still with us in book three, working hard as a group or our government to start bringing the USA to a somewhat managing country in cleaning up the mess left behind of millions of dead, building our old military vehicles, weapons, to working order. Getting the farmers, and everyone working to start providing food as the backups are fading away. All this building of the USA after defeating the planned attack of china of taking over every country. Not knowing that another power hungry family is working their way through Mexico and to America to take over gathering military vehicles & weapons, as well as more soldiers to help with the takeover. While leaving death & destruction in the spoils left behind. Looking forward to book 4.

This was brilliant! fast turning into one of the best PA fiction series ive read at this point. The storys fast and action paced, but realistic in its presentation and easily understandable. It continues on from the earlier books and plans the countrys outlook whilst dealing with the latest crop of issues that pop up. This series has continued to pick up in quality and im looking forward to reading the last, and the one being currently written (invasion europe)

More about the problems of survival and make a trip to China to pick up more electronic components. The details of the preparation and conflicts are so explicit that it is believable. I still consider it one of the best apocalyptic books I have ever read. Looking forward to book 4.
