This book will definitely help you get started with making your own basic WordPress Web site. However, I feel that the advice Kent gives is very poor. He seems to have a poor opinion about Web developers and graphic designers and belittles their work, referring to them as "computer geeks".
This book is a good starting point, but it will leave you with an unprofessional, amateur Web site. Also, I would ignore his advice about purchasing a "$50 logo making program" unless you want your business logo to look like clipart. There is a reason people pay graphic designers for logos.
Also, this book is riddled with typos.

I must say, I thought this would be one of those books you would zoom by and read things you would already know.
For a cheap kindle book basically, you gain a LOT of information.
The author basically tells you exactly what to do, exactly what to download and whatnot, and isn't vague. This is straight to the point, and it tells you where to go. So if it's your first time, you would definitely not be confused, the author is very detailed. I was impressed.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to start a website.
