I was pretty sure I read this earlier than 1991, but I see from the list that there is a mix up in author names, so I went with the Hazelton entry. This was a book I read every morning for 2 years. I journalled from it. It was part of my journey toward emotional and spiritual wholeness.

The problem with sharing a partial list of what I have read over the years is that I want to go back and reread them and I will never have the time, but this book I pick up every once in a while just to remind myself of some point or inspiration.

Funny thing is, this book was gifted to me by a man in 1990 who didn't realize it was written for women. It took me a year before realizing it myself! I laughed out loud the day I realized it! I did notice it had a lot of mentions that I thought were bit tilted toward females, but I just went with the flow. This was one of the best books I ever read that helped me to see and deal with my issues in life in a way I understood. Maybe it fed my Feminine Side, I don't know. But I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to grow. Karen Casey is a woman highly blessed by our Creator to bring Higher Messages to a world needing Love.

This book is exceptional for inspiration and motivation. There is an inspirational piece for each day of the year. The author wrote this book from the perspective of a recovering addict, so there are many times where she will reference the path/program. However, even if you are not on the path to recovery, this book has so many pieces of motivational greatness. My book has underlined sentences and my own notes scribbled in the margins. I have bought a copy for my mom... it's just that good. I definitely recommend all women read this book. There are references to "God" also, but I would encourage all women to input their own spiritual divine into the author's all-encompassing word "God" because it can really be used for any spiritual individuals. Even if you are not spiritual, there is still a wealth of inspiration in this text.

i got clean & sober 11/19/89 and a friend gave me this book as a gift. i read it every morning when i get up with my 'one' cup of coffee and it's a good way to start the day and it has really helped me. i came here today because i was looking for a new one-mine is old and highlighted, written in, to the point where pages are falling out. it's recovery based and god based, i am a christian so i like that and when it says 'program'....i insert 'god'.......i used to do meetings but now i know-it's god who keeps me clean. i'm just not a 'meeting' kind of person anymore. i'm going to order one for a friend who is also in sobriety.

This the the Hazelden mobile Android application. The contents are unchanged from the 1985 Harper and Row/Hazelden edition.

It is convenient and easy to use.

Update 2016: For several months the Settings have not worked. Customer support has not been helpful at all. They first suggested reinstalling, which did not work. Then said they were unable to reproduce the issue and have apparently stopped working on it.

I began using this application in May 2014. There was a major update in 2014 that prevented use for about 2 months.

Used this version in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

I will admit I am marking this book as finished as in, I am finished with it (even though I only got up to March this time). I found it in 2019 and have been trying to read a page a day (it's a calendar book like that) each year (Last year I think I got up to May). Each year I don't quite make it all the way through, so I thought to myself - this is the year! Only it's for women in recovery doing the 12 step program and while there was relatable sayings occasionally, now I'm finding it hard to find anything that is resonating with me and I'd rather devote my time to a book that is more aligned with what I need to hear right now. I think this book would be good for someone that had the support of a group/program and will pass it on to them.

This book is a meditation book for each day of the year. It’s uplifting and it was great to share it with my mom and read it aloud to her. Although it says it is for women I believe it is also for men too!

It was a gift from a dear Friend (yes, with capital F!) who had put an inscription inside saying "read it every day and keep it safe for me". And though I must admit it - everyday is a bit impossible for me, especiailly with the morning rush, I still grab it quite often, particularly after a tough day, to soothe myself and make sense of the twists of life. Uplifting and thought-provoking. Helped me in my everyday struggles and introduced me to meditation. Definitely deserves rereading.

Great morning meditation book. This seemed to have some interesting tailoring between all different types of twelve step recovery from alanon to over eating. It was always a very helpful take on the day.
