This book could be summarised as a very brief Condon report in the 90s, by that time believers among academics could not convince hard-core mainstream scientists. Some very poor argumentation on the part of the believers I must say. The whole effort was financed by the Rockefeller Foundation. The importance of this book was how science was seen in the UFOs in the 90's, I believe the UFO camp is way stronger than what we had at that time.

What can I say? Reports of UFOs have fascinated me since the '60s, after my mother telling me about Betty and Barney Hill being abducted by aliens and examined against their wills in the hills of New Hampshire. My husband and I became field investigators for the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization in 1974. (Google "APRO"!)
