Billionaire Chrysander Anetakis is known to the world as a rich Greek hotel magnate, but Marley Jameson knows him differently. They made passionate love whenever business took him to New York, but Marley's hopes for future happiness are dashed when he tells her, "This isn't a relationship. You're just my mistress," and kicks her out of his penthouse. Still reeling in shock, she fails to notice the kidnappers trailing her on that shadowy New York street. Chrysander thinks she has left him for good, until she is discovered three months later, suffering from amnesia, and pregnant to boot!
The h discovers that she is unexpectedly pregnant with the H's baby. When she asks him to clarify their relationship, he describes her as his mistress. Hurt that he considers that he is paying her for sex, she delays telling him that she is pregnant. He finds incriminating papers in her purse about his business and he throws her out giving her half an hour to leave. She gets kidnapped. Three months later he sees a news report about a kidnapped, pregnant woman who has been found in an apartment. It's the h. He goes to the hospital and finds out she has amnesia due to trauma. Identifying himself as her fiance, he takes her to his island so that she can get the care she needs to deliver his baby. He has mixed feelings, hating her for her betrayal while physically attracted to her. This part of the book is weak mainly because it's difficult to determine the H's character based on his actions. He seems to be ambivalent yet prior to this he seemed to be strong and determined. There is an evil OW which I love.
This book is light to read. Though you might be confused in the middle of how did it happen. I mean the book started right in the two character's ongoing relationship and then just went straight to the twist. That's a twist from the beginning of the story. How unusual is that?
Its really a chick-flick kind of story. It lacks kick of romance. The content is just right for a short novel. Just weird it feels it started from the middle.
