This book was only mediocre. It was short, so it makes for a quick read, and it wasn't as hysterical as some of the vegan books I have read, but the lack of planning and terrible formatting in the book really puts me off it.
There's limited recipes (a total of four, if I remember correctly) so it's probably not the best choice for a beginner vegan. The book mostly talks about the benefits of a vegan diet vs the average American diet (not very intriguing for me since I'm not American). However, I feel like this book focused on more to do with shining a light on all the problems with a non-vegan lifestyle, rather than focus on all the benefits (not just the cruelty-free part) of a vegan life.
As they say, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, or since we're talking about veganism here, you catch more flies with agave.
Personally, I feel there are better books out there to introduce people to the world of vegan, even the books and films the author recommends would be a better start.
It's a very nice summary on the concept of veganism, answering most of the questions every non-vegan has about veganism. Worth a reading for anybody pondering to enroll in this lifestyle or just planning on adding a more plant-based diet to their daily lifes (which everybody actually should, but it's up to individual freedom, of course).
