Very little sex, but there's lashings of violence, almost veering into dark comedy territory. Domino gets herself in trouble with the Assassins Guild AND The Hand... oh, and she also gets some superbeing jiggy jiggy, which in hindsight is I guess where the 'sex' in the volume title comes! 7 out of 12, Three Star read, but naught Marvel blatantly trying to tap into the 'fanboy' market and not doing it that well?

Black & White Buddy Read thanks to this asshole...

Sex & Violence!
Because, yay! to both, amirite?
Well, the title lives up to it's name and really delivers.

Sex...check.

The X-Force is undoubtedly one of my favorite teams, so that probably skews my rating a bit. But I haven't read anything by Craig Kyle that I haven't absolutely loved.
Oops. Hold that thought. I just looked and there was actually one stinker from my golden boy. Woof!
Anyway, as I was saying, there's almost nothing that he's written that I've given less than 4 stars. And nobody is perfect. Especially when it comes to movie tie-ins.

Anyway. Domino screws over the Assassin's Guild & The Hand. Not good. At all.

description

But it was for a good cause and a shitload of money, so how can Wolverine stay mad at her? Besides, he's kinda hot for her.
When he's not threatening to gut her, at least.

description

Ok, for something that had sexytimes in it, I was sort of impressed with the artwork for not doing that thing that most comic books do when it comes to portraying women. I mean, of course, some ninjas/assassins are going to bust down the door when those two were half naked, right?
And normally this is where the chick beats someone's ass in a thong...while a strategically drawn vase or random arm blocks her boobs.
Which is what made this panel all the more impressive...

description

Where are her dental floss underwear?!
Where are her ginormous perky tits?!

*faints*
A lot of us get pissed when we see the awkward over-sexualization of female characters in this stuff. So I think it's only right to show some love when one of these folks gets it right.

description

The story is heavy on Logan & Domino, and the rest of the team only shows up at the end. But when they do? It's a bloodbath worthy of the X-Force moniker!

description

The art is fantastic, and the plot (while a bit of a throwaway) is simply a lot of fun to read. Besides, I love a good Happily for now Ever After!

Now this was fun! Domino double crosses both the Assassin's Guild and the Hand and talks Wolverine into helping her escape both groups. It felt like one of those romantic, crime spree movies like True Romance or Natural Born Killers. Gabriele Dell'otto's art is perfect for the series. It gives off this kinetic energy amidst a fever dream.

“You...you’re not the X-Men...X-Men don’t kill...”

Damn, this was so fucking good. Nice quick read following Domino & Wolverine across three issues with plenty of, as the title suggests, sex & violence. Domino double crosses The Hand and The Assassin’s Guild, and now needs Wolverine help to clean up her mess. And it gets spicy. Very spicy indeed.

This is honestly what that shitty Wolverine MAX run should have been like. Great art paired with a solid script that delivered on plenty of sweet violence and a tasteful amount of sex. The ending is also hilarious yet kinda cute. There’s also a New X-Men annual by Grant Morrison that has some more Domino & Wolverine that’s pretty fun. Recommended to any fans of anything X-Men-related.

This is the Swan Song for Craig Kyle's X-Force run. Does it live up to his series, which was mostly good-great? Well...

Domino has done something bad. Without spoilers she's upset the guild and the hand at the same time. Wolverine gets involved in this and tus comes in the sex and violence. A lot of both, a lot of half naked people, and a lot of bloody deaths. By the end you actually do get the X-Force team coming in but not till the very very end.

Good: Really dug the fight scenes. Brutal, intense, and very very bloody. I also thought wolverine and domino together was pretty funny and good banter throughout. Nice and fast paced too so never boring.

Bad: The storyline is kind of one note heist style movie storyline. Just save the girl and kill everyone. So kind of lame there. I also thought the X-Force wasn't in it enough.

Overall this was a fun little end note to the X-Force run for Kyle. While not as amazing as the great moments in the series it still holds up as worth reading for fans of the series. A 3 out of 5.

Surprisingly not bad, despite clearly reveling in the exact gratuitousness that the title would lead you to expect. With other characters, on another team, this would have felt over the top. Not so much when it's Domino and Wolverine going horizontal after a bit of the old ultraviolence. The art is sometimes on the messy side, but it always looks good, and the action is very clear to read. Fun, but ultimately a bit forgettable.

Dialogue: just enough to keep you guessing, and fun/funny enough to make me want more.

Art: crazy/sloppy enough to make me question my loyalty to the hyper-real art that I'm digging so much these days, and yet clearly comes from talent and a sense of kinetic style, as well as a clear eye for clean action (never leaving the reader confused what happened from panel to panel). Awesome "new" artist on the block, and thankfully not as in love with his inker as the previous pencillers were in this series.

I've already read Morrison's Xorn origin/Wolverine-Domino foreplay, and that's a cheap way to bulk up this novel.

F’ing brutal!! Domino has gotten herself mixed up with the Assassins Creed and the Hand and now they are coming after her. Wolverine reluctantly agrees to help. Grabriele Dell’ottos art is gorgeous, dark and gritty. Perfect for this violent and bloody story. Heads, legs arms and everything in between get hacked and slashed up all through this book with a pretty nice story. If you have been enjoying the X-Force run, definitely jump on this one.

X Force: Sex+Violence is a 3 issue one off which delivers exactly what it promises. It's got sex and it's got violence and it's loads of fun! The art is great, dark and gritty. It's also sexy, but in a very adult way. This is not your pubescent wet dream, this is come as you are warts and all gotta have you now action packed sexiness.

Domino is in quite a jam and Wolverine helps bail her out. She's managed to piss off both the Assassins Guild and The Hand and can't take them all on her own.

As they fight their way through a year's worth of bad guys they can't deny their sexual tension any longer and make a pit stop at a hotel room. I have to give major credit for allowing Domino to be the major instigator for this sexy romp. She's in charge, she's getting what she wants, and she's sexy as hell doing it.

I would've liked this short run to be a little longer, it's a lot of fast paced action crammed into 3 issues. But they were wise to keep it short as the typical Marvel book is not this gritty and definitely not going to show any more nudity than we get here. Which is basically some cleavage and a braless back. I'm sure someone out there has drawn a far more explicit fan fiction for this and if you want to link to it in the comments I wouldn't complain.

Definitely recommend for a nice quick bloody sexy read.

So my X-men reading rampage has now infected my girlfriend. Today we were at our LCS for FCBD (google it), and I was scouring the X-books looking for sales but finding none. As I was about to give up I heard, "This one's called Sex and Violence?!?! I like sex and violence!"

To be fair, my girlfriend is already a pretty big X-geek. Soon after we started dating, I discovered that in her world, the "Holy Trilogy" isn't Star Wars or LOTR or even Dark Knight -- it's X-Men. She even likes X3, for chrissakes! She'd just never read any of the comics. So I dug out my collection of Morrison, Whedon, and Claremont, but after flipping through them she ended up settling on X-23 (complaining, however, that X-23 needed to fight Wolverine more often. This should have been my first clue). And as she started picking through various X-related backissues, I thought I'd head back down the dark road myself.

Since then, of course, it's just been a sad, unending overindulgence.

Anyway, aside from X-23 she hasn't been too excited about the print versions of her favorite characters, especially the ones I bring home -- the technicolor simplicity of Astonishing X-Men, the snot-nosed goofiness of Wolverine and the X-Men, et al.

Silly me. I should have been buying the books where Wolverine slices ninja guy's heads into three pieces in between having hardcore sex with his co-star.

Sex and Violence is another ridiculous book in the ridiculous world of R-rated black ops brutality that is X-Force. I get the attraction -- there's amazing painted interiors, negligible continuity, and Wolverine slices apart ninja-heads. I'm just too much of a pansy to enjoy it. It's Serious. It's Unpleasant. And if there's not a wink and a nudge involved, I can't get into it.

But my girlfriend loves it and I'm excited to share my addiction to X-books with her, so I'll probably read whatever she brings home. I got through this volume and only shrieked like a preschooler two or three times throughout. I'm very nearly positive I can make it through the rest of the series without wetting my pants like some kind of whiny kindergarten baby.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find my bankie.

Let me tell you, this book lives up to its name. And I loved it. The artwork is fantastic, although very visceral, with plenty of blood flying. The action is non-stop, as Domino gets herself into quite a fix with the Assassin's Guild, not to mention she has the Hand on her tail. As her colleague, Wolverine steps into the fray to help protect her flank, guard her back, and if they get some "quality time" in between, that's okay too. I don't know where it's going, maybe nowhere, but Wolverine and Domino make sense as a couple. At least, they have plenty of chemistry and their personalities mesh well. Between Wolverine's healing factor and Domino's incredible luck, they make a good team.

Another excellent book in the X-Force series.

I wasn't that keen on the X-Men Annual attached. It was decidely odd. But it does add to the sex and violence quotient promised in this book title.

Overall rating: 4.5/5.0 stars.

Wolverine und Domino- Sex & Violence;

Sex:

& Violence:

Nuff said!

The correct name would be „Gratuitous Sex + Violence”. And bad, blurred drawings that really cut the whole fun. There's little sex, and the violence is just as violent as the shaky cams of recent movies. If you like not understanding a thing from what you see, this one's for you.

Title is misleading, should be called Violence + Sex, because the Violence occurs first then the Sex, 1 second after (like actually in one scene)

I now ship Neena and James, wish he would stop whining over Jean. He's like a character in Euphoria

Not much sex but a lot of violence indeed in the most realistic interpretation of what should be this version of X-Force I’ve read.

I’m amazed at the level of gory violence authorized by Marvel in this short mini-series. Ah, good old times... No need to dwell on the plot- what plot?- but the fun part is how it really shows X-Force as a black ops unit, wetworks included. And I do mean wet.

This is of course largely due thanks to dell’Otto’s painted art. Gritty and dynamic it never shirks away from literally slicing and dicing whatever random bad guy’s in the way. In these sweetened and sanitized bland days this is is refreshing.

This was good, if a little odd. I'm not really sure what the motivation was behind this story as it didn't really fit into continuity and the whole Wolverine/Domino pairing is a little odd.

That being said, this was a cool story with very cool art. We got to see some underutilized characters such as Razorfist and Bushwacker. X-Force even shows up and we have the Hand vs. The Assassin's Guild.

The back up story was not needed and this follows that annoying Marvel doctrine of sticking a basically unrelated reprint in a tradepaperback if the series being reprinted isn't long enough. The issue here was a 2001 X-Men annual that featured Wolverine teaming up with Domino for a few pages and somehow was looked at as a prequel to this story. I would prefer Marvel just make the tradepaperback thinner (and cheaper) and leave out the weird unrelated reprints.

So overall another good story in a great run, as I really enjoyed the overall X-Force series.

I fucking, fucking, fucking, fucking (four fuckings?!) love this!

If Kyle and Yost are doing X-Force, you better believe it’s going to be incredible.

Let’s talk art. Gabriele Dell’otto is amazing. Truly. Every single panel here is astonishing.

This is a fast paced action story with a couple exciting twists and a whole lot of Wolverine and Domino killing people, fucking, killing people and also fucking. The title is “Sex + Violence,” and those are two areas where this three issue mini delivers.

It’s like candy. Easy to enjoy, light on the thinking, and pure, unadulterated satisfaction. It’s a shame that this is Kyle/Yost’s last time doing X-Force, because what they’ve built during their run has been a real pleasure.

Nobody should miss out on this light, delicious read!

Court, intense, efficace.

X-Force:S&V

Hahaha! First Marvel title I've read that has a sex scene!!While seeing Wolverine and Domino going at it in the ink so to speak, was somewhat disconcerting, the Violence from the title was in full glorious display. If you ever wondered what someone's head would look like if he got mauled by Wolvie then look no further!

TITLE: X-Force: Sex + Violence.

Art of Gabriele Dell'otto alone will merit a four star rating for me. The story of the two writers is OK. And I only picked this one to sample this X-book; This is my first X-Force read. And as for the extra story (New X-Men Annual 2001), i would give my credit to the two Filipino (Leinil Francis Yu & Gerry Alanguilan) creators here.

There was probably a story here. Don't care. This isn't the kind of X-story I'm used to so it was a ...refreshing change. Had no idea these two were an item, but I likes it. Love the art and snappy banter.

Continuing the great x read of 2017/18...

You know, this isn't a bad story. The art is great, the plot makes sense. There's really good action and some well written humorous dialogue. So why give it a middling review? Simply because this isn't domino. It feels like a cardboard cutout of 90s domino rather than the complex character she has become. She ends up a cliche here. So does wolvie, but he sort of always is.... I just think a different female character from Logans past may have worked better in this story.
