Another great book by Robert Shade. The adventures continue for a young gunsmith, working as a scout, along Pennsylvania's Forbes Road from Carlisle to Fort Pitt. Another well written, well researched, easy reading, historically based novel, the second in the Forbes Road series by this author. An enjoyable read for everyone interested in frontier life.

Great book

I love how real history is woven within this tale. I was familiar with parts of the time period and locations. And as the story moved on I kept writing down names and places so that I could look them up. A wonderful story and I have gotten the next two books in the series.

Enjoyable Read

Spoiler alerts

I liked that Wend got revenge on most of the people who killed his family.
I didn't like that you told him that Mary Fraser was alive after marrying Peggy
This will be good who wants to know about the period between French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War

A grand story of the Cumberland Valley

Second in the series, with twists and turns. This is a really readable series post French and Indian War through Pontiac’s uprising.
