Life is never boring when you’re a superhero… Axel and the team get more than they bargained for when they settle into their new home outside Las Vegas. A surprise attack results in Brodie, Ebony, Dan and Ferdy being taken hostage and held in a secret location by cult leader, Jeremiah Stead. Stead wants their help in opening an encrypted device called Barricade . If they refuse, it’ll cost them their lives, but agreeing to Stead’s demands will mean handing over control of a deadly virus that could kill billions of people… Axel and Chad can find Stead, but it means they have to break his brother out of prison. And it’s not just any prison. It’s the world’s most dangerous jail —Yodak prison in North Korea, a place filled with modified humans who have deadly powers. Getting in is easy. Survival is hard. Escape is impossible! The Doomsday Device is the latest adventure in the Teen Superhero adventure series. It combines high-stakes action , surprise twists and unexpected laughs . If you like Percy Jackson, the Lorien Legacies, or Maximum Ride , then you’ll love Darrell Pitt’s page-turning book.
Darrell Pitt is a long-time fan of comics, science-fiction, and anything that would make the 'cool kids' cringe. Seriously, he remembers literally sprinting home from school one day to watch the next episode of Doctor Who because the previous episode ended on a cliffhanger (although, didn't they all?). He has a lifelong interest in superheroes, monsters, science fiction and anything involving spaceships or zebras. (If your eyes furrowed at the mention of the word, zebras, yes, it’s true. He really likes zebras. He hasn’t written a book yet that features an all zebra crew on a spaceship where they encounter superheroes or monsters – but there’s still time!)
The book I read was Diary of a teenage superhero the Doomsday Device by Darrell Pitt I liked this book but I did not think it was as good as the first one it just didn’t hook me in as much. My favorite character in the book was Axel because I just like his powers so much to control air would be so cool. My least favorite character was the vampires I just didn’t like how they were in the story I mean it's about superheroes and i did not find it necessary to add them. My favorite quote from the book was “Time to start again” because it lets me know that there are more books and the sires is not over. So over all I give this book 4 out of 5 stars and look forward to reading the next book in the seres and with that I am done.
Starting few chapters are bit boring and feels unconnected to the first book expect for Axel and group story. Post the group is kidnapped by vampires, story becomes very interesting. And really like how the group got divided. Axel and Chad story in prison is very interesting and the escape from prison felt very cliche. Brodie and others story at sanctuary reminded me of Hunger games.
Very curious to what happens next to Wolff character. Overall a very decent read for beginners. ✌️

Vampires!? Ruined the series. The first book was good. I couldn't get through the first few chapters in the second. Very slow, couldn't keep my interest like the first one did. Plus the introduction of the vampires ruined it further. Will not continue with the series.

Doomsday was entertaining if nothing else, Darrell pitt returns with the same lovable characters and keeps things fast and action packed.
Unfortunately I was hoping for a bigger improvement on the first hoping that the world building would be stronger. I felt it missed the mark especially in the case of the bakari since they barely featured. Doomsday also seemed like to go against the first book in that the main characters are considered rare and uniquely changed by these experiments but now theres and entire prison filled with mods and many legends such as vampires are in fact mods themselves.
Hopefully anyone who reads this review wont misinterpret what I mean. Yes I felt the book was weak in points and even had the occasional mistake but honestly its a fun book and if you read the first one your pretty much guaranteed to like this one. Although I will be hoping for some improvement in later volumes.
