Th8is e-book has a lot of useful phrases and is organized to let you find them quickly. One downside for me but perhaps a plus for someone who speaks absolutely no Spanish is the phonetic pronunciation addition for each phrase. If you have even a rudimentary knowledge of Spanish you will find it useless or, perhaps, annoying. At the end of the book there is a brief but useful grammar section.

It’s a bit antiquated in the sense that I probably will never need to ask how to send a telegram in Spanish or inquire about travelers checks. “I need an American doctor” didn’t hit right either, but it has a lot of phrases and questions that may be helpful or at least elicit laugher. I wouldn’t rely on it for much, being so out of touch with the modern conversational necessities of travel.

Simple sentences with varying tenses and multiple examples makes this read one I'll reference often in learning the conjugated structure of Spanish.

A regular Spanish course will not teach you everyday phrases but this book will. Don't hesitate, purchase this book and you will not want to put it down.

Good book, but a poor conversion to Kindle!

The book is very good and helpful with the useful phrases and explanations. But there were problems with the conversion to the Kindle edition, where the phonetic key, the lists of numbers, vowels, colors, and others were unreadable garbled strings of symbols. These are very important for learning the words, so it was a big letdown. It would be excellent if the publisher would make a correction and send an updated version.
