What can I say, another great addition to this series! This book focused more on the large story arch of Jason McGrady's mysterious "death" (Jennie's father). I am torn if I liked the Roberts twist or not but time will tell. I like how each novel so far has taken place in different setting, this one being on a cruise ship and several Caribbean Islands.
(5☆ Would recommend & would read again) I read 2 books out of this series when I was 13 and I remember really liking them. I decided to buy the entire series as an adult and read through the series. As an adult, I still really enjoy this series. Would definitely recommend.
Pretty good continuation of the series, with some interesting plot developments. However, if you've read the first three books, the pacing suffers from a detailed rehash of the story-arc.
This one surely didn't come out the way I expected!
In the beginning of this story, jennie McGrady has gone to meet her father, Jason McGrady, at a deserted wharf. A man arrived wearing a mask. When he removed the mask, it was her father. Then suddenly, it wasn't, and he walked away.
In the dream her dad was alive! She had to do this, it was her last chance to find her dad! But her mom was going to be upset! When she walked into the KKNG Building, the receptionist greeted her. Jennie told her she had an appointment with John Hendricks. The release form said anyone under 18 needed parental permission, but what was she going to do? The receptionist had Jennie wait in the reception area while she called Mr. Hendricks. When he arrived, she couldn't speak. He realized she was nervous & said that most people were when they were going to be on television. She gave the photos of her dad to Toni, the producer. One of them had been taken 2 months after his disappearance. When Jennie expressed concern about her makeup, she was told it was fine, as long as she was comfortable. She had used a little blush because the nightmare had left her pale. After the interview, Toni returned her pictures & told her that they'd let her know when the tape would be aired. Jennie was glad it had gone well. Jennie had been upset that Gram had come back from her trip as Mrs. Jason Bradley, & told her that she'd no longer help her look for her father. Now she had turned to "Missing in America." There was a big difference between being dead & being presumed dead.
This one really toyed with my emotions. I felt hopeful, surprised, and sad and angry during the story. I loved the cruiseship setting. I would give it 4.5 stars, but settled on 5. So good! Can't wait to read the next entry. I'm glad I bought the entire set on Ebay.
This one was better than the others, although I could still predict most of the story. These are fun reads, I will keep going to find out what happens next.
