Interesting recipes. I liked the smoothie section the best. However, I was sold with the first few pages of the book, where the author gives tips on what food items have what proportion of nutrients. As my belief goes “to eat right rather than not eating at all”, this book is the answer to it.

I need to eat better.
This book will get me there!

This is a recipe book, and boy! It is filled with different foods to fill your stomach. I recommend the Black bean burger. I also want to personally thank the author, Micheal Matthews. I will be transferring my life over to eating healthy. Just got to take it one day at a time.

Excellent advice and recipes

The book starts with information about how to build muscle and/or lose weight. It also explains a lot of why to do certain things. The recipes are then given in categories e.g breakfast, sides, entrees etc. Each section is further broken down into vegetarian recipes then vegan recipes. Each recipe has the macro breakdown as well.
I also appreciate that he has made a spreadsheet for me to download with each recipe breakdown to help meal plan and find the appropriate recipe easily.
I bought this as an e-book but now want it as a physical book too. For me that is the ultimate praise!

Lots of Good Recipes

This book has plenty of good recipes, and a bonus downloadable spreadsheet with all of the recipes on it. The narrative is short but good. One of the better books of this type.

Nice variety

As a vegetarian on a diet, I'm thrilled by the nutritional info and variety of recipes. Vegetarians can use vegan recipes, which unfortunately for vegans doesn't work in reverse, so I can use every recipe. Bonus.

Nothing really new or different, it is a shame they use processed ingredients (pasta sauce, sugar replacements etc) in the recipes. Also, I would rather get veggie recipes with vegan alternatives (for eggs/ butter for example) and not two different sets of recipes.

The book is Ok-ish.
I really like the nutritional information provided, however as the author advised on using so much processed ingredients and low-fat diary products, you anyway need to recalculate everything if you don’t want to be eating rubbish.
But a good source of inspiration.

This is a great book for people trying to make sure they get all of the nutrients necessary in their diets for active lifestyles. One of my favorite things about the book is the introduction. It has realistic tips for eating healthy without worry and obsession. Each section (Breakfast, Entrees, sides, snacks, desserts, and protein shakes) are divided into sections for vegetarians and vegans. These can be great meals even if you only go meatless a couple times a week.

Each recipe includes information about prep time, calories, protein, carbs, and fat. So far we have tried three of the recipes. They were very easy to follow and required only ingredients that were easy to find at our local grocery store. I was pleasantly surprised at how little prep time the meals took. I am not a great cook, but with these recipes I was able to make healthy and flavorful foods with little stress.

Nice and easy practical recipe book on vegetarian/vegan meals for building muscle and getting lean.

While I think the actual recipes are nice and come in handy on the journey to becoming a vegan or vegatarian bodybuilder, I do think the first, informational chapters could have been better.

The information given in these chapters (about lifting and eating habits) was quite ok and rather basic but I would have prefered a bit more depth and detail.

Helpful

I'm a vegetarian and few work-out/diet plans/cookbooks consider the vegetarian and vegan lifestyle. This is a no nonsense, clear plan with lots of options. Bravo!

Very repetitive information in the front matter, and the recipes are all basic and/or in the other books.
