Ok, I know this is going to sound petty but the stories were fairly shallow and hurried. I enjoyed them but some of them were hard to read due to changes in tense. Some of the stories happened in the US but had references to things like the "boot" of a car not being able to be opened or "the fire brigade coming out". And over and over I kept reading about a minimother. What is a minimother? Seemed like it was meant to read "A minimum of". For someone that is familiar with the crimes already (most have been on the crime shows), I had to re-read the sections to decide if they put the body in the trunk or the backseat or wherever. Not a big deal but that kind of thing makes me crazy. All in all, I felt I was reading a summary story in the back section of a Thursday edition of the newspaper.
Absolutely awesome read.. Kept me on the edge of the seat all they way though. Excellent writing. I hope there is another edition coming out soon. 10/10
It was OK. Yes it was about some horrendous true acts of crime but not told very well. Now I don't profess to be a writer at all or use perfect grammar and tense but I could have proof read and edited this better! The stories seemed rushed and I was confused with some as to where they were set as there was a mix of English and American words.
I downloaded this for free from Amazon so won't complain too much but I would have been pretty annoyed had I paid for it. This example doesn't make me want to read anymore from this author ... sorry.
This book is a collection of 3-5 page true crime stories, one after another with no common thread. Overall the stories are sad, chilling, and psychologically captivating; that said the writing was mediocre, at an 8th grade level - maybe, not to mention the editing and grammar is atrocious! It drove me nuts. Misusing "me" and "I", repeating words, and on... There is apparently another book coming out but I will not partake.
Returned for refund. Overblown writing style, poor spelling and grammar and numerous formatting mistakes. Unprofessional in its execution and nothing special in its content.
