My feelings towards this book were all over the place. One minute it was cheery, then all of a sudden something would happen and I would just ask myself ‘whaaaaat, is this for real?' While the overall story plot was an aspect I enjoyed, the in-between details really lost me: the sudden mood swings, the lack of communication between Jordan and Kimber, and as a result, the misunderstandings that could have been avoidable but instead, dominated most of the book. To me, it wasn’t that these aspects themselves were bad, no; it was the way they were presented, one after another, that made me constantly question the believability of the events.

Stop here if you don’t want any specific details/possible plot spoilers. Please keep in mind that below is my take on certain parts of the book and don't reflect the general point of view. You just have to read the book to experience it yourself.

The beginning started strong. It was everything I could ask for: attention-grabbing and suspenseful. Reading about Susan from Jordan’s POV really was painful. I just had this constant feeling of doom when it came to her and I was just waiting for the bomb to drop. Then –swoosh- we are flipped into Kimber’s POV, which obviously is nowhere close to Jordan and she has a boatload of her own baggage to deal with. Even though I was a bit surprised by the sudden change, I still liked it. I liked the idea of having two characters, who are SO far apart in social status, beliefs, and personality, to converge and fall in love. Sadly, that feeling of euphoria did not last long.

It’s pretty clear that something unfortunate happens to Susan, and Jordan is left picking up his broken pieces. He wants a clean break from his high-style life, and on the spur of a moment, he winds up in Mount Vernon, Kimber’s hometown. Kimber’s life has been rough. She deals with an absentee sister, an alcoholic mother slowly deteriorating from MS, schoolwork, and her own love life problems. She is probably one of the sweetest, kindest, most selfless heroines I’ve read about, but even those beautiful qualities could not overshadow what I thought were her biggest flaws: insecurity and a COMPLETE lack of communication.

Scenario 1: The day after Jordan and Kimber had sex (2 weeks after they met) they are both at the ranch where they work and Jordan is heading his way to Kimber when he gets a phone call from his mom asking him to come home. He turns towards the barn instead and Kimber decides that it was a strike.

“What the hell? I was convinced he was on his way over here. Now he’s done it again. For the third time his actions speak volumes louder than his words.”

What actions?! *face palm* She could have called out to Jordan but instead, she decides to keep quiet and blame Jordan for not reaching out to her. Communication is a two-ways street Kimber and you did your fair share of avoiding Jordan too.

Scenario 2: Kimber and Jordan are at his best friend’s wedding and at the party, Kimber goes to the bathroom and sees Jennifer (a rich, spoiled girl who’s been after Jordan forever) suddenly kiss Jordan and she immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion (He turned his face to the side for goodness sake). I say wrong conclusion because all throughout the wedding and even before, Jordan didn’t do a SINGLE thing to hurt Kimber or their relationship. Anyone with an ounce to their brain can tell this was Jennifer’s ploy to chase Kimber away. In fact, what Jordan says to Kimber later is a perfect sentence that characterizes their relationship.

“Oh Kimber, why do you always run?”

Overall, I liked the premise of the story. I really did. But it was hard for me to connect with the characters. I wanted to be ‘wowed’ by their bond, uprooted by their painful baggage, but I didn’t. I didn’t feel it.

Note: For some reason I need to clarify that I certainly know that Feeling This is a work of fiction. For those who say that real life situations standards don’t apply because it's a fictional story, it is said in the Publishing Industry: “the essence of good writing is the one closer to reality”. I must add that this should apply even more when the author is writing a contemporary story because it’s based on reality, it’s not a work of Fantasy or Science Fiction. At the end like I mentioned in the review, this was only half part of why I didn't like the story.

Spoiler Alert >>> Read at Your Own Caution

Feeling This is that kind of book that I find a disaster in every way. Underdeveloped characters, poor storyline construction and terrible continuity. Let’s summarize: Jordan Rhodes, the “hero” of the story, has almost a perfect life: he’s handsome, wealthy family, well educated and he is dating the love of his life: Susan and they are “secretly” engaged. The story starts with Jordan and Susan getting ready for one of their friend’s engagement party. They are talking about them getting engaged; well then you will find later that they are already engaged, so I don't get the point of all these waste of sentences. Then the alternative narration changes and we meet: Kimber who’s life if nothing like Jordan’s; she is poor, she has two jobs to support her sick also alcoholic mother, her sister is the personification of selfishness and she let her love Andrew Perry get away. Everything changes the night of the engagement party; Jordan tries to talk to her father in law about some weird things he notices in Susan, but his father in law snaps at him and minutes later he asks Susan to marry him and she says; yes (because it’s not rude at all asking your girlfriend to marry you at someone else’s engagement party). That night Susan commits suicide and Jordan is heartbroken, he spends the next month in his family’s house when he decides he needs some change and he gets on the road and finds himself topping at Mount Vernon where Kimber is. Like two minutes after getting there he finds a job and later meets Kimber. Five minutes after meeting her, Kimber’s best friend is telling him not to hurt her because she has a lot on her plate (he just met her!!!). In the mean time Kimber was suffering because of the return of Andre to town, the thing she rapidly forgets as soon she sees Jordan. But don’t worry Jordan is heartbroken because her fiancé just died a month ago. Well it took them two weeks to sleep together and for him to move on:

Felling This / 83% (Kindle)

“Susan was my life for a long time. That’s how I thought of her. When she died, I thought everything die along with her. But it didn’t, you are my life now.
_______________________________

His fiancé’s been dead for not even two months and he has already replaced her. Not only he took her back home to the weeding of the two friends, that also went to the engagement party with Susan and where he proposed to her (because that’s is not totally awkward). The funniest thing is that nobody seems to care that he has a new girlfriend not even two months after his fiancé killed herself; really?. Wrapping up, something happens in the party but he makes up with Kimber and returns to Mount Vernon to show her the beautiful house he got for them. Epilogue, six months later they are living the beautiful life and Kimber is pregnant. All the time I was reading this and I was telling myself: really? … really? … really? When the author was writing this, did she really thought that people will fall in love with a hero that replaces the love of his life two seconds after she dies? I completely disliked the hero, even though he is a good guy, his poor character construction was the top of the cake for me to dislike this book. I will not even going to mention secondary characters because I feel that the main characters are not complete enough, so it’s not even worth mentioning the secondary ones. The author fails miserably trying to let the reader believe this story of a second chance love. She didn't convince me on the reasons of how these two fall in love at all because it took them just a second and in a terrible time frame. Jordan is far from what I love in a hero and Kimber just a forgettable heroine who didn’t live up to the standards of the martyr the author tried to portray in her. Feeling This, a poor attempt to a story of second chance love that only left me mourning the time I wasted reading it.

This is a new-to-me author. I enjoyed the story she had to tell -- it was just the way she told it that bothered me. At times I found it hard to follow the timeline - things seemed to be going at supersonic speed. Insta-love isn't my thing and this one was overdose x 2.

Both the lead characters were interesting and could have been more so with a little more detail. They both suffer life's hardships - in very different ways. It's interesting to watch how each deal with those issues.

This is a standalone book and offers readers an Epilogue wrapping up the HEA (although I wish it had expanded on the real issues a bit more).

I loved this book, I love Casey Blue's writing style, the plot, the editing was fantastic, I loved everything about this book, I really don't have a bad thing to say about it. The fact that the whole book was written from the points of view of both main characters was fantastic, extremely well done and I love that there was back story and insight into both characters personalities before the end as personally I hate having to wait to see why people are the way they are. I loved the progression of the story and that Kimber was finally able to have some happiness in her life, I love that Jordan got to have happiness and found new life after he lost his life (you'll know what i mean when you read it).
This story is fantastic in the way that it raises awareness of M.S. and that its not just a physical illness its a psychological battle too, not only for the sufferer but for the family and people close to them aswell. I think Kimber is an amazingly strong and resilient young woman for helping her mother though her battle and also having to fight her own against her mother's illness.
I adore that it has a fairytale ending and I think every woman ever deserves her own Jordan! He is the perfect man as far as personality and resolve goes. He has his problems but pushes past them to help the woman he loves.

I would love to see more from Kimber and Jordan or even some of the other characters but the way this book ended was perfect.
I know i've said it like a million times but i'm going to say it again I LOVE THIS BOOK!

This was on the recommendation page and it was the cover that sold me...seriously good! This is a sweet and at the beginning, very emotional story, of getting over loss and dealing with hardship and finding a way to move on. The first half of the book was slow to get going and I wondered how and if Jordan and Kimber were ever going to meet, but when they did...all systems go!!! It wasn't as high octane as it could've been with added angst from some of the side characters (loved Heidi!)and the pretty woman shopping trip (I was waiting for the "bag" to fall)...but I am pleased it wasn't!! I wished there was more to tell about them when they finally became a couple as the last 3% tried to cram all good things into HEA...and really I wanted a couple of chapters on how they got all those good things...not just have them happen...also what happened during the missing week...no Jordan's POV??? I did enjoy it though, easy sweet read.

This is one I definitely recommend. It has love, loss, and learning to love again. Jordan is so heartbroken and doesn't think he can love again. Kimber has had a rough life taking care of her mom and has been hurt.

When they meet their attraction is instant but to them it feels so wrong. Their stories are so touching and they really fight it. When it gets bad Kimber always runs away from her feelings. Jordan is such a sweetheart and tries to prove his love for her.

Feeling This is so touching and tender and I just fell in love with Jordan!!

Goodreads Synopsis:
Whoever said life is hard didn’t know the half of it!

Completely devastated when his life is ripped out from underneath him, Jordan Rhodes decides to take a break. A break from everything he’s always known; the country club life-style, his life-long friends and his overbearing parents. He just wants to be free to get lost and not feel the pain he has endured.

An ailing mom, a sister who refuses to face reality and a yearning for the one that got away, she finds putting one foot in front of the other as her only saving grace. What she really wants is to be free of feeling the pressure that is her life, free to get lost.

But when Jordan finds Kimber while losing himself, they both discover sometimes you just need to feel to be found.

The Best Thing:
Man this book took me by surprise. While it wasn't the longest book I've come close to reading recently, it was still able to capture true emotions and characters development/personality very well. Recently, I've been reading more books where the author writes from dual perspectives and sometimes it doesn't always come off without a hitch. In this case Casey did a very good job at alternating chapters with Kimber and Jordan's perspectives–it flowed well.

When the book first started I will admit that I was totally caught off guard by Jordan and Susan's relationship. I wasn't sure where their story was going to lead and definitely wasn't prepared for the big WTF scene. Confused and still gathering my thoughts after the big WTF scene, I kept thinking it can only go up from here. Well, it did but it definitely took some time before things got better for Jordan. I guess I really don't mind having to wait and see what Jordan would do next considering what he experienced with Susan.

Kimber's life is a far cry from butterflies and rainbows, but I loved that she was able to stay strong despite all of the setbacks that life has dealt her. It seemed that almost every part of her life was so HARD; whether it be work, school, family, ex-boyfriends, and a new love life, all seemed to have their own little suitcase of troubles.

I was so nervous that I wouldn't get to have my HEA and more of life's issues would keep Kimber and Jordan apart, thank god it didn't.

The Worst Thing:
First I have to say that this story was really good, even the parts that pissed me off.

Now that that's out of the way I really didn't like how Ms. Maguire, Kimber's mom, was so hurtful throughout the story. I wanted to SCREAM b**ch.... Even if–while continuing to read–we finally understand her reasoning, she was literally tearing her daughter down for years because of her own issues.

While I loved that Heidi (the best friend) was Kimber's rock and had her back, I hated that she couldn't keep her mouth shut. The whole town didn't need a blow-by-blow account of Kimber's every move. Again, I found myself wanting to slap someone specifically Heidi when she ran her mouth about the first time Kimber and Jordan were together. Jeez lady...get a grip.

Overall:
I really don't have a lot of dislikes for this book. I loved how it showed two totally different lifestyles (Kimber and Jordan) and highlighted the fact that they were both beat down, miserable, and hurt in their current situations. I loved how they found one another and despite all the baggage and odds against them, they were able to find happiness. This book may have gone to some extremes here and there, but in the end it may give some readers hope in their own lives.

I really enjoyed Feeling This. It was a sweet story about two people letting go of their past and trusting their feelings, living in the moment and finding happiness with each other.

Jordan Rhodes is a wealthy young man on the cusp of having the life he's always wanted - madly in love and about to propose to his fiance, a career waiting in his father's company - what more could anyone ask for? A series of events completely out of his control send him spinning down a spiral of despair and heartbreak and Jordan is left just wanting to escape everything that reminds him of what he has lost. I really liked Jordan, he is a passionate man who feels intensely and for me there was an element of seizing the moment and living as if you only had today in his character.

Kimber Maguire has a background that couldn't be more at odds with Jordan's. A mother stricken with multiple sclerosis (MS) who's turned to drinking for solace, an absent older sister and the responsibility of caring for her mother and paying the bills. Kimber has dreams to do and be more and with the support of Mrs Bruin is taking a few college classes, which adds to her hectic schedule and responsibility. Kimber is a bit of a firecracker - quick to anger, slow to trust - and she does whatever she can to keep people out of her life, not wanting them to see what she is dealing with. Having taken responsibility for so much from such a young age she is reluctant to let people in and believes that she needs to deal with things herself.

In his attempt to escape his past Jordan finds himself in the small town that is Kimber's home. The two encounter each other and there is a connection between them that they tentatively explore. I wasn't entirely convinced by their relationship, but I did enjoy reading the two come together. Their personalities absolutely impacted their interactions - Jordan was moving forward, despite his view that he was broken. He clearly had feelings for Kimber but would second guess his ability to be what she needed. Kimber was mistrustful and self doubting, never believing she was worthy of Jordan (or really anything actually).

As with many stories I wanted to shake the two of them and tell them to just tell each other what they were thinking and feeling. It could have avoided much of the angst they had to deal with ... but then it would have been a simple boy meets girl, they fall in love, happy ending - and where's the fun in that?

Feeling This is well written. I really enjoyed Casey's writing style and it did not take me long to finish the story. There are some wonderful supporting characters who have stories of their own. Jenna, Kimber's sister, was intriguing and it was nice to see a small part of her journey in the story. Heidi, Kimber's brazen and outspoken best friend, was also fabulous! The pace was fast and I suspect some will find this unrealistic, but I was happy with the story and it's conclusion.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Feeling This was a story with heartache, joy, love and loss. You know how some stories will take a few chapters to really get into it? Well, this one wasn’t like that. Casey gives us a taste of something just a few pages in. This story is about Jordan and Kimber. From different towns, leading very different lives.

Jordan and Susan have been together for 3 years and she is his everything. He has the ring and is just waiting to ask her dad for her hand. They are going to the country club for an engagement party of their friends’. But there’s something going on with Susan and he doesn’t know what it is. This is something else he wants to talk about with her dad. It’s worrying Jordan and he wants her parent’s to know as well.

“It happens so suddenly, her mood turns.”

But you know what happens when Jordan speaks with Susan’s father? He brushes him off and tells him not to mention another word. Then Jordan is put on the spot and has to let it go for the moment. But that’s OK. His ring is now on her finger and this will get worked out. Susan goes home with her parents that night and Jordan is left feeling helpless because he knows something is wrong. All too soon his life changes forever and this absolutely broke my heart! He needs to get away from everything. He needs a change and some time to figure out what he’s going to do with his life.

Kimber is taking care of her very sick mom. She is working 2 jobs and going to school. What her mom’s insurance doesn’t cover, Kimber takes care of the rest. It’s exhausting and her mom is just flat out mean to her. Her mom is an alcoholic and of course that only makes matters worse. Her typical day is helping her mom, going to class, heading to the farm where her first job is and then working at the bar at night. There is no one to take care of Kimber but she’s gotten used to it. It may suck but it is what it is.

It’s one day while Kimber is delivering lunches on the farm that she sees the new guy. He’s very easy to look at and for some reason she can’t stop staring. So much so, she embarrasses herself and gets away as fast as she can. This same day, Jordan decides to have a beer after working on the farm all day. Just so happens it’s the same bar where Kimber works and they meet, officially.

Feeling This took off at this point for me. Both Jordan and Kimber had to learn to trust, let go and stop running away. That’s hard when you’ve been dealt a bad hand. I was able to share in their struggle and their growth. Casey did an amazing job of painting her story, but in words. Only a couple times did I feel the story slow down. But it didn’t take long to pick back up and I felt the butterflies. Some from being nervous, other times, downright swooning. I give Feeling This 4/5 stars.

Kimber is a young woman living in a small Texas town. She had big dreams of fleeing that tiny God forsaken place, but life doesn't always turn out they way we plan. Taking care of her ailing mother has left Kimber struggling through pure exhaustion day in and day out trying to make ends meet, all while trying to put herself through college part time. Kimber barely has time to sleep, let alone time for herself. Forcing her own desires aside she focuses on taking care of her responsibilities.

Jordan is from an affluent Texas family. Born and raised in Dallas he hasn't experienced a life of want. His life has been mapped out for him, right down to the gender of his future children. All is going according to plan until he is blindsided with the death of the love of his life, Susan. Struggling to regain his footing, Jordan leaves Dallas trying to find some peace. Wandering into a small town outside of the city he thinks he may have found the quiet sanctuary he is looking for. Little does he know, he will find much more that. There in that rural town he will find his life.

Feeling This is the story of two broken individuals finding hope and a sense of completeness in each other.

When I began this book, I have to admit, I struggled a little. The first few chapters were slightly disjointed. I had a hard time keeping the two time lines together. Jordan's first few chapters were told over a much shorter time frame than Kimber's. However, once the two threads of the story wove together the story was sweet. I enjoyed Jordan's kindness and humility. He never rubbed his wealth in the faces of those aroud him. Instead he tried hiding his upbringing in order to prove himself. I liked Kimber's strength. Taking care of an ill loved one is never easy. It is tiring and trying. Even the most selfless individual struggles with the enormous weight of watching the health of someone you love deline before your eyes. Kimder never gave up despite all of the odds stacked against her. The supporting cast, Derek, Jenna, and the Bruins, were a nice addition. And what would a the word be without a wild and loud mouth friend like Heidi?

I enjoyed the sweet story of Kimber and Jordan. Go out and get lost in their stroy today!

Happy reading!!

Here is a great example of an emotional contemporary romance. I liked the aspect of Kimber and Jordan telling their individual stories as their lives became intertwined. Before meeting each other, Kimber and Jordan are dealing with difficult, personal situations. These painful events have caused them to close off from others. Their journeys were heartbreaking but eventually they are brought together which was the best thing that could happen. Without realizing it, Kimber and Jordan desperately needed one another.

Kimber Maguire is used to relying solely on herself. In order to care for her ill mother, she is working two jobs just to pay the bills. Kimber’s only form of independence is attending a few college courses without her mother’s knowledge. I admire Kimber’s drive very much and appreciate her determination to make a life for herself. Others would have allowed the terrible situation to break them but she continues on sheer hope of a bright future.

Jordan Rhodes had an amazing privileged life. He has the love of his life beside him and is surrounded by many who adore him. Jordan has everything he could ever ask for. When tragedy strikes, his perfect existence is shattered and he runs to escape the burning pain of the past chasing him. Jordan finds himself emotionally destroyed and lost in a world once filled with nothing but overwhelming joy. When he stumbles upon a small town in the middle of nowhere, Jordan decides it is as great a place to hide from his misery for a while.

When Kimber and Jordan cross paths, neither one is looking for comfort and least of all a relationship. Regardless of their internal battles, they cannot deny the intense chemistry sparking between them. The bond they form is powerful since it took a lot for them to let down their guards. Both had sky-high walls surrounding their hearts but the possibility of something magnificent could not be pushed away any longer. Kimber gives Jordan a reason to feel alive again and he makes her realize a bond between two souls is stronger than any promise. Can they find peace and happiness or will the past come back to haunt them?

Overall, this is a great debut novel from Casey Blue. I enjoyed the storyline and characters a lot. I look forward to reading what she creates in the future.

Feeling This is about two people who seemed to experience all the bad things that life has to offer. Jordan Rhodes has lost the girl he loved the most after proposing to her. It’s not only that, he knew that he could have stopped it if only he had asked for help earlier and didn’t wait until it was too late. After suffering a devastating loss and spending his time getting drunk, he finally decided to take a break from everything. He left the comfortable life he knew and searched out to find himself and heal.

Kimber Maguire on the other hand is a really, really tough chick. Balancing two jobs, school, longing for the ‘one’ that got away, dealing with a sister who ran away from home and taking care of her ailing mother – I don’t know how she handled it without falling apart. She was young and supposedly had a full life ahead of her.

My heart goes to Kimber, and I wanted her to finally have that happy ending that she deserved. Her mom had a lot of issues, and sometimes it makes me want to have Kimber leave her. But then she was sick (a kind of disease that medicines can’t cure) and is suffering from depression – she needs her daughter (but does she needs to be a b*tch about it?).

Nevertheless, Kimber proved to be a great character, with a kind heart and a loving soul.
It was love at first sight, and considering how Jordan was feeling with his ex, I was expecting a little more time from him to heal, to be sad for a while and not to love anyone immediately. But love has its way of creeping into your life and surprise you, and without you knowing – you are falling in love with a person you least expect.

Feeling This is story of love, giving yourself a second chance on life and love, and allowing yourself to live. You will pin for the characters mostly – wishing both of them HEA in one way or the other. Written in alternating POV, Feeling This will make you believe that it is possible to fall in love, even if you are broken, even if your heart has been crushed multiple times, even if you think you don’t have any love left to give – because LOVE, in all its glory, HEALS.

I am going to start with Kimber because I rarely like heroines but I liked this one. She is selfless, down-to-earth, works (extremely) hard, and she isn't wishy-washy or afraid to speak her mind. All good qualities, in my opinion.

For once, it was the guy who wasn't painted perfectly. I can't tell you what my major issue was with Jordan without giving away a good portion of the plot, but I will tell you that his clinginess and "you are my life" business were not turn-ons. Yeah, no macho alpha male here. Of course, he's hot and loaded (both good qualities ;o), just not my leading man material.

As for the story, I thought that it was a solid effort for the author's first book. I was trying to think of a word to describe the book and kept coming back to "safe". What on earth does that mean? While there are twists and turns, there aren't any that will throw you off the edge, leave you hanging on for dear life, and praying that some miracle will occur to make everything okay. It wasn't over-the-top angsty (is that even a word because spell-check is NOT loving it ;o), and though I did want to see where things were headed, I didn't lose sleep over it.

Are these good things or bad? Depends on your perspective....sometimes it's nice to not have your stomach in perpetual knots while reading, but other times you might be in the mood for something that will knock your socks off, toss them in the washer and let them spin until every last drop of water has been squeezed out of them. Ya get what I'm saying?

Besides being somewhat "safe", there were also some timeline issues (things progressed at break-neck speed) and editing lapses that decreased my enjoyment of an overall well-written story. I thought the dialogue was believable, however, and I appreciated the way the author incorporated a disease that is rarely mentioned in books. Last, readers who have had it up to here (picture my hand above my forehead) with cliff-hangers will appreciate that this is a stand-alone novel with an ending that is wrapped up with a big bow on top :)

REALLY cute story - I really liked this one -
Just felt a little rushed, but other than that, it was really a fun book to read.

Kimber is working 2 jobs, and taking care of her sick mother. Her mother isn't easy to get along with, but Kimber doesn't have a choice. Her sister left when things got tough, and she is all her mother has left.

Trying to go to school part time before work , she struggles with living her own life. But a life she desperately craves.

Jordan is a good guy - he's in love with Susan and life couldn't be better. He starts to notice she's off a little, and when he tries to talk to her dad about it, her dad brushes him off.
When Susan finally can't take anymore, Jordan is left with guilt of failure and a broken heart.

Nothing seems to be able to fix him. Until he finally gets up and leaves. Leaves everything. His begging mother , his apartment, his life.
Driving without any destination, he finds a bar in a little town where no one knows who he is. There is nothing here to remind him of Susan.

So Jordan gets word of a Ranching Job that's opened up. He doesn't do hard labor, but he's ready for the mindless work that will keep him from thinking of his life he's trying to leave behind.

When Jordan first see's Kimber, he feels the instant connection, but feeling guilt for betraying Susan. Is this his second chance to live again??

Kimber takes notice to the new guy in town, but knowing her luck, she'd never catch his eye.
But when he does finally see her, and really look at her, she can't help but hope that there might be a chance.

Really cute story - like I said though, it seemed rushed - Susan wasn't gone for more than a month before Jordan started getting interested in Kimber. I think a little more time should have passed for that.

Then in the end, Kimber seems to forgive and forget a little too easy. I thought she'd fight him a little more.
but even with that rushed ending, it was still fun to read :)

Sweet is the first word that comes to my mind, as I am wiping the tears from my eyes, after finishing this book.

Jordan leaves his hometown after a tragedy in his life and stumbles onto a small town where he decides to just settle for a bit to get over what happened. Kimber has lived in this small town all her life. She is tough, working multiple jobs, taking care of her ailing mom and taking classes, yet she is broken too.

Once they meet, both see how they can help to heal the other, but of course, neither are willing to admit it right away. Yet the chemistry between them can't be denied. I loved their background stories and how their pasts shaped who they were today. If they had met under any other circumstances, it never would have worked. But through a variety of circumstances for both, Jordan and Kimber find each other and find true love. Kimber has a hard time accepting help from anyone and often runs when things get tough with Jordan as she just can't believe there is someone she can truly rely on. Jordan is so sweet and just keeps showing her time and again that she can trust him and that he trusts her too.

Although I found the story line a bit slow to start, (I will admit I like steamy action between the characters right away in my romances!), the writing was so captivating that I couldn't put it down. I became invested in these characters and their tragedies and triumphs, that I was rooting for them before they even got together. And then once they did meet, the sparks flew and I couldn't get enough of them!!
I did find her best friend, Heidi, very annoying. But she was a minor enough supporting character that it didn't distract me from the main story.

No two people deserved a happy ending more than Jordan and Kimber and I was so happy to see them get one! - Tynna

Feeling This by Casey Blue

I received a free copy of Feeling This in exchange for an honest review.

Feeling This, we meet Jordan who is totally in love with his girlfriend, lately Jordan notices her moods and temper seem to be all over the place. He is a bit worried about her and approaches her dad to talk about getting her some help. Her dad brushes off Jordan’s concern and that same night tragedy strikes.

Jordan who has no idea what he is going to do know, leaves town to figure things out and find a new direction for his life. Jordan stumbles across a small town and just by chance gets a job on a farm. Figuring he will work hard and not have to think of anything he decides to stay for a while. Here we meet Kimber who is struggling in her home life, working two jobs, trying to go to school and take care of her sick mom.

So when Jordan and Kimber meet sparks fly and the attraction is immediate. But things don’t always go smoothly for them and they have their own past issues to deal with. When Jordan has to return home for his friend’s wedding he brings Kimber with him telling her he cannot do it on his own. Kimber see’s firsthand how different the two of them are but she tries to be there for him. Jordan makes a few mistakes here and Kimber ends up running back home. But the story doesn’t end there he returns to prove that he wants Kimber and knows he has to prove this to her and earn her trust.

Feeling This, starts off great you shed some tears, and really want only the best for Jordan. The new romance is sweet and romantic and has a few steamy scenes. This is one of those stories you want the happy ever after ending for both Jordan and Kimber.

I have rated Feeling this a 4 star rating. Anyone who enjoys romance novels and wants to read a new author this is the book for you.

Feeling This was an emotional read full of twists and tears. I loved this book from start to finish!

Casey Blue uses dual points-of-view to follow the stories of Kimber Maguire and Jordan Rhodes. Two characters who hail from opposite upbringings but share in life’s struggles and heartbreak.

Kimber Maguire wasn’t born into money and wealth. She works two jobs, attends school, and is burdened with the responsibility of her ailing mother. Something I loved about Kimber’s character was that despite all of these circumstances, not once did her character complain. She is a strong and resilient woman who accepted her situation and dealt with it without hesitation.

Unlike Kimber, Jordan Rhodes has been raised among wealth and opportunity. There’s little he hasn’t been able to do or get at a moment’s notice. When his picture perfect world suddenly implodes, Jordan must start life over. I loved Jordan’s vulnerability throughout the novel.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a sort of role reversal throughout this novel. Where Kimber was stubborn and refused to break, Jordan often gave in to his guilt got lost in it at times.

I was hooked by the story from start to finish. The plot is quick to grab your attention and delivers numerous twists I hadn’t expected. There are a lot of emotionally heavy moments, and I found myself crying along with the characters. Casey Blue shows that life is gritty, unpredictable, and a constant work in progress.

Feeling This is a beautifully written novel about accepting life’s obstacles and finding the best possible outcome for the situations you’ve been dealt. I highly recommend this novel, so one-click it if you haven’t gotten your hands on it already!

Feeling This by Casey Blue was nothing at all what I expected, it was so much more. I absolutely fell in love with this book. I was pleased that I had no idea where it was going. It was a nice change from your typical romance. It was sadly intense, and wonderfully amazing all at the same time.

Jordan is dealing with a devastating blow. He decides to take a break and get away from his family and friends. He comes from an affluent family and the country club lifestyle is something he needs to get away from. Everything is a reminder of what he lost. Then Kimber walks into his life and he feels something for her that he knows he shouldn't. Kimber has dealt with a lot in her life with being responsible for her ailing mother and working two jobs to pay the bills. They will both soon realize that it's ok to be happy even though everything seems to be falling down around them.

So like I said I had no idea where this story was going and Jordan was unlike any other male I have read about. He really stole my heart and I felt for him throughout his entire journey. Kimber was an amazing strong willed person. She gave up her dreams for her family. She lived her life the best way she knew how. Jordan wasn't perfect and when he messed up she was sure to let him know that he was running out of chances. They both were healed by being together. If that isn't beautiful and inspiring then I don't know what is.

This is a must read from me it's different, intense, and a true love story. You will want to be on Jordan and Kimber's journey of healing.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a great debut Novel from Casey Blue. This emotional story had me from the very beginning.

Jordan meets Kimber after a major tragedy he has had in his life. Jordan is looking for a change of scene form his wealthily up bringing. He needed to get away from the reminders of the tragedy

Kimber has had to work two job to take care of her mom who is ungrateful for everything she does. Her sister ditched her the first chance she got when thing hard, and only come to town and cause trouble

This two meet at a time in their life when neither of them are look for a relationship. They are both so damaged by their problems this was the last thing they were expected.

This novel was fantastic, I loved all the characters and could see reading book by them. I can't wait to read more by Casey Blue

What a sweet yet sad story of overcoming loss and hardships and moving on. I really liked Jordan and Kimber...and Heidi was such a feisty best friend...I loved her. I liked the end but I wish the family dinner they had planned at the end was written into the story. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone really. It is pretty emotional. The beginning was different because their lives were so separate that it felt like reading two different books and it went kind of slow...after their lives intertwine it picked up quite a bit and got to the point where I didn't want to put it down.

Jordan and Kimber met after some tragic circumstances in Jordan's life. Jordan started a new life that has nothing to do with his old life with his parents meddling and fiancée . I thought the story was a little confusing and not all that realistic how Jordan moved on so quickly, like it didn't matter. However I thought the author wrote Kimber's character very well. I thought her background with her mother and working two jobs and going to school was very uplifting. I liked the guys at the farm too...funny...3.5 stars

I had a hard time with this one. actually the beginning of the book sucked me in, and the writing was well done. But as the book progressed I started to not like it and the writing seemed to diminish. I just don't buy that someone who lost the "love of their life" would fall in love only a month or so later with another "love of my life". It takes time to heal and jumping right into another romance is not normal/or its not lasting anyway. I found the story line itself to be decent, but the time frame was ridiculous.

Good book with a solid and well written storyline. Characters were great with lots of depth. Kimber is a strong woman with lots of pressure on her shoulders. Jordan has been through so much and needs to find a strong woman to help heal him....Kimber is that woman!! The secondary characters were also great!!! Would recommend this book!!
