::: FULL REVIEW NOW POSTED ::: 4.5+ STARS!! :::

SQUEEEEEE!!!! I read both Here With Me and Choose Me back-to-back because I quite literally COULD. NOT. PUT. THEM. DOWN!!!! Together they tell a complete story and IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! OMG. My heart!!! Gah!!! The feels!!! I was glued to the page from start to finish and just couldn't turn those pages fast enough. If you're looking for a unique, well written, roller coaster of a story that will keep your heart racing the whole way through to fall in love with, I'd HIGHLY recommend these books!!

This is a review of both books because together they tell one story.

The story is about Evan Archer, a Navy SEAL, who fell in love with a girl when they were in high school. They built and planned a life together. He was sent away on a mission that ended up going wrong. It was supposed to be a quick in and out but they ended up away for six years. Ryley was told he was dead. A body was sent home. She buried the man she loved and was forced to move on. Her life fell apart and Evan's twin brother Nate Archer was there to help her pick up the pieces, and help her raise her son. Until the day Evan came home, with no idea that she didn't know he was alive... and found her engaged to Nate.

*gasp* ;)

You should know that I'm NOT a fan of love triangles but I'm still loved this series! Here's why: There were no "teams" for me here. Not even for a single moment. I was never once "torn" between the two guys. Don't get me wrong, I liked them both, but there was absolutely no doubt in my mind who she should be with and (don't judge me) I checked the ending of the second book before I even started them to be sure that he was in fact the one. Honestly, I wouldn't have reviewed these if they'd ended any other way, so basically... Without spoilers, I'll just say that if you're worried about anything in them, don't be! Just enjoy the ride! It's a wild one that'll tug all your heart strings in the best possibly way. ❤

The cool thing is that these are actually "romantic suspense" books. The suspense comes from the fact that, remember how Evan's mission took six years? Well, it wasn't supposed to. There was a cover up... and a whole mystery there over what the hell happened to their team. It added an 'edgy' feeling to the story that I really loved. I needed answers!!! I was just an invested in this part as I was in the romance.

Anyways, when you start the first book you'll see that you're hit with the feels right from the start. There's no 'easing you in'. You just hit the ground running! I actually love that. I love instantly just being immersed into the story. It's also one of those stories where I started it, got sucked right in, and suddenly I looked down and I was at 25% ... then 60%... then 90% ... -- it just kinda takes over your life.

It's honestly hard for me to talk about this any more than this without giving spoilers so I'm just going to stop and hope that you're intrigued enough to give them a shot because it's an awesome series!

By the way, I have a ton of quotes highlighted but... every time I look through them, I can see how they *could* be taken as a spoiler so that's the only reason I decided not to include any here.

These two books tell a complete story. The ending is fully resolved on all accounts and the third book in the series will be a standalone about a completely different guy. His story sounds crazy cool though so I'm excited for it. But that's separate. Consider these as their own 2-book series within a larger series.

PS: or those of you who (like me) neeeeeeed to know for sure who she ends up with, here you go:

Dual rating: 4.5+ stars! Contemporary romantic suspense.

**4-4.5 Intense Stars**

Choose me is the continuation of Here with Me and it was one of the most anticipated sequels of the year for me. I knew that this book would be really angsty and I wasn't wrong about it.
If you haven't read book 1 , this review may contain spoilers for you.

Nate gets back home and he finds his twin brother. The brother that was supposed to be dead six years now. Evan had been told that Nate knew about their condition at the jungle, so he's suspicious and very angry at his brother, who took his place, while he was on a mission for six years. Things are quite tense, since Nate got engaged with his fiance, Ryley, getting ready to marry anytime soon and because Evan's son, EJ, calls Nate 'Daddy', something that really hurts Evan.

"He's taken my girl, my son, my dog and my house and if he thinks that I'm going to walk away gracefully, he's got another thing coming."

They all wonder why they were on a mission for so long, taking care packages from their loved ones, getting updates on their lives, while their families had received the news that they were dead and they had buried them? What kind of conspiracy is going on? Who was close enough to their families to send them those packages? Who knew that they were alive, but was pretending otherwise? How are they going to untangle this mess now? Who is Ryley going to choose?

"She's a woman being torn in half by two men, both of whom she loves for different reasons, both of whom want her for themselves."

I'm not sure how I should start describing this book. One thing is absolutely certain. It provokes so many emotions that I was all over the place. I could feel frustration, agony, sadness, happiness, confusion. It's a really wonderful roller-coaster of emotions.

"My mind is telling me to run. To run fast and far without looking back because looking back holds too much pain, and I'm so tired of feeling broken... My heart is telling me to fight for her, show her that she is still my one and only even if she already knows it.

I loved the parts where everyone was trying to solve the pieces of that puzzle. I was so confused, so anxious and the suspense was so intense. I can't say I hadn't predicted a few parts and even though there were twists and turns, I wasn't so surprised.

I was really satisfied with how everything fell smoothly in place and we didn't have unnecessary drama. Usually love triangles are quite difficult, but for me it was clear, who she belonged with. I wanted so much for Evan to get his HEA , but not at Nate's expanse. I don't think that anyone will be disappointed with how the author handled their situation. At least I wasn't.

Why not 5? : I loved the first book so much more for some reason and I didn't want to 'devalue' my love for it. I also thought that a few parts were predictable & I didn't really like how dirty the brothers were playing because of Ryley. I do believe that this book is excellent and I totally recommend the series.

I read the first book and it was an OK read for me. Nothing mind-blowing but we were sort of left in limbo and I wanted to find out who got their HEA.

There was a bit of suspense thrown in which was all nicely wound up in the end.

Evan and Nate - found them a bit childish. Let's kiss her in front of the other so that we can get a rise of him. High school much?

It's probably me as this is getting some great reviews. I just thought it was all rounded up too nicely. There is some line in the book about a Fairytale .... I think! This one was just a bit too much "too good to be true", if that makes sense.

"I saw her, I knew she was the one. She’s my angel, my saving grace..."-Evan

description

Choose Me is the follow up to the heartbreakingly beautiful Here with Me. If you haven't read the first book, don't even bother reading this review. Just do yourself a favor and go back now and read the first book.

In Here with Me, Ryley is stuck between two brothers. Evan (her first love and the father of her child) and Nate (her best friend). The pain is fresh as the decisions must be made. Everyone is in limbo. It is as if they are caught between free falling and drowning at the same time.

"But for Ryley, I’d fight to the death. I’m not sure she understands that about me. For her, I’d lay down my life."-Evan

Here with Me was told in dual POV through mostly Ryley and Evan. Choose Me is dual POV with the two brothers. I really felt like Nate's voice wasn't heard much in the first book so it was quite refreshing to see inside his soul.

In addition to wondering who Ryley is going to end up with, we want to know how this happened! Was it the Navy? Was it some crazy conspiracy? Whatever the cause the effect is destruction.

As Here With Me focused on the conflict, Choose Me focuses on the relationships of the characters.

Evan and Nate

description

"Evan and I need to talk. Brother to brother. Warrior to warrior. Whether he wants to or not."-Nate

Identical twin brothers in love with the same girl. Truly my heart was breaking for them both. Evan clearly deserves to be with Ryley. Nate clearly feels a comfortable pull to Ryley and EJ. These two brothers that were once best friends are broken. As Evan realizes that his brother truly has cared for Ryley and EJ, he feels conflicted. I felt for a moment of the scarifies that these soldiers make for us everyday. They are forced to leave their loved ones behind for God and family to care for them. The sadness and fear must run deep.

"He was doing what I asked of him... he was taking care of my family. He just took it a step too far.”-Evan

EJ

description

The sweet soft spoken boy caught in the tidal wave keeps the innocence alive in this read. He loves Nate as his dad but is curious about "Eban"! Watching Eban and EJ share first moments together made me want to hug my own children tighter. Feeling Nate's pain as he watched his nephew (and surrogate son) drift away caused me to hug my own children tighter. Feelings are magnified when children are involved.

"Hey Eban! Are you my dad?"-EJ

The Family

Just like the Capulets and Montaques at a dual to the death, Ryley and the twin's family are in a tailspin. Livvie (the twin's sister) is closer to her brother Evan. She wants Evan and Ryley to reunite. The twins' mother has been hurtful to Ryley. She has conceded that Nate and Ryley are engaged and is very judgmental when Evan tries to reclaim his girl.

Perhaps two of my favorite characters in this read were Ryley's parents. Thank you Ms. McLaughlin for giving us a heroine with healthy, happy, and perfectly functioning parents. Their strong and steady support of their daughter gave the story strength.

description

Overall, Choose Me was a fantastic conclusion to this series. I really appreciated the way the author handled the conclusion of this story. I recommend this book without hesitation to anyone who enjoys a little heartbreak with their love stories. I felt like Choose Me offered a true glimpse into the psyche of relationships and conflict. It begs us to question, what if? The choices we make and others make for us can shape the twists and turns of our lives without us even realizing it. I know the question you are dying to know. Who gets the girl? I so enjoyed this read. I certainly hope the author explores the other family members or gives us a story on one of Evan's friends. There were three other seals that faced the same fate. I would love to hear their story. Such a fantastic read!

"I knew deep in my heart that no one would ever compare to you. That no one else would ever own my heart and soul. That night you branded me as yours.”

Choose Me (The Archer Brothers #2) by Heidi McLaughlin
3 stars!!

“…she’s a woman being torn in half by two men, both of whom she loves for different reasons, both of whom want them for themselves.”

Well I guess I am probably going to be in the minority here so I am just going to put my thoughts and opinions out there. But these are just that, my thoughts and opinions. I absolutely loved Here With Me, I loved the way the story was told, loved the characters and the plot was really building to something intriguing. I had been anxiously awaiting Choose Me, I was desperate to know what had happened, why it had happened and most importantly, who won the girl.

This was a love triangle with a difference, even if you are not a fan of them I would still ask you to give this story a chance because it is far from traditional and technically there is no cheating involved. There are emotions running high and decisions to be made but I desperately wanted to know who was going to fight the hardest and walk away the winner.

“There’s a bond between brothers, twins especially, that is hard to sever.”

This is where my disappointment comes in,(maybe spoilerish if you read between the lines)

Evan really changed in this book, I felt no connection between him and Ryley and more importantly I did not felt any connection between him and EJ. He actually became rather mean and totally unlikeable. I appreciated his circumstances and tried hard to understand why he said some of the things he said but I just couldn’t “get him.” As I said above, I just couldn’t connect to him at all; he was so different from the Evan in Here With Me.

“He’s taken my girl, my son, my dog and my house and if he thinks that I’m just going to walk away gracefully, he’s got another think coming.”

Ryley baffled me, I appreciate that she was in an impossible position but to toy so openly with both Evan and Nate’s emotions was cruel and totally not her character. To go from kissing one brother to the other was totally out of character and for a person that demanded space to get her thoughts together she didn’t really stick to the deal.

“I wish there was a book full of answers or that Magic 8 Ball I had when I was a kid actually worked, but neither are realistic. Everything is so screwed up and I hate that I’m hurting the two men I love like this.”

Nate just kind of gave up, I was so disappointed, he was willing to stand on the side lines and see if Ryley threw any scraps his way. Nate was a fighter and to see him capitulate actually hurt. I am glad that he finally saw some flickers of light and began to play the same game Evan played.

The rest of the plot I loved, it was interesting and intriguing. The who’s, what’s and why’s were all answered but not before a lot of plot twists were revealed. Heidi McLaughlin keeps you guessing until the end and I was glad they all got the answers they deserved.

While I didn’t love this book, I have enjoyed this series. Maybe because I loved Here With Me so much I had just put Choose Me on too big of a pedestal, maybe my expectations were too high. But overall, an interesting read that I would still recommend. These are just my thoughts but I pride myself on being honest, it is not often I give a critical review but I loved these characters so much in Here With Me that I felt I just needed to defend them somehow.

I was disappointed with this one. I enjoyed the first book but ended up disliking Evan, Rylie and Nate. I'm sure I'll be in the minority with my opinions. It's just another affirmation that I need to not ever read love triangles period.

>>>I HAS A SAD...<<<

Here with Me was such an amazing read. It was an emotional roller coaster an I loved every minute of it.

Sadly I didn't love Choose Me as much as I loved the first book.

I can't help it..I'm a sucker for a good love triangle story and all the drama that comes with it..

Even if I didn't end up loving it, it was still an enjoyable read for me.

~~3.75 EBAN HEARTS~~

Great book. The suspense was maddening. It kept me on edge throughout the book. I kept on wanting to know "whodunnit". There waere a few times I really wanted to stop and go on GR to read spoilers but thanks to my buddy Linda~Sassy~Classy who told me she would do bodily harm to me if I did. ;) I'm glad I didn't because it made it so much better to let the story play out.

I do think the word "warrior" was used too much. The storyline was somewhat believable but there were parts that were too far fetched to be believable. I would highly recommend this duet to all my friends. Overall I would rate this book 3.75 stars.

Le doy un 3.5 y solo por Evan... el se lo merece y más!! :)

Yes yes yes!!! I wasn't sure how I felt after the first book about who should get the girl. Normally I know who I'm rooting for and only want THAT guy for the heroine. But when it comes to the Archer boys, you really can't pick one. There's no favorite. And that was probably a first for me.
In this book Nate is home and really confused, rightfully so. There stands his dead brother with his son and girl. It was absolutely fantastic being inside Nate and Evans heads. What they felt about Ryley, what they felt about each other as brothers and as two men going after the same woman. What they felt about the military that they devoted themselves to.
I would be reading Evans Pov wondering how I could not pick him? He didn't choose to lose 6 years of his life. He didn't ask to be deceived by the people he trusted with his life. Ryley was his sweetheart wasn't she? EJ was his son. Why should be not get his family.
Then in reading Nate's pov. I couldn't see how he deserved to be ripped away from either Ryley or EJ. He was there to pick up the pieces. He became EJ's father. He picked Ryley off the floor and they healed together. Then came the feelings and relationship. Why should Nate have to be the one to lose when all he's ever been is noble?
This was the perfect combination for me. I liked the angst of not really knowing who would be chosen. Who would actually be doing the chosing! I loved the Archer boys period! And I felt for Ryley when she says she selfishly wants them both, and I understood what she meant by that.
You really can't help but be behind both brothers. So some things you can kinda predict but overall I was led throughout the Book by the author. I really didn't want to put it down.
I was happy with the whole story. The finding out whodunit. The realization by the characters of how they really felt. I honestly felt so comfortable when one brother decided where his future should go. I loved how they talked about it. Overall I really enjoyed this book.
There's one thing that kept me from a 5 star and when I get to a computer I can hide that spoiler for those that want to know why. :)

Well I guess I'll be joining the minority here, but wow this book was lame. I'm not sure why I bought it in the first place when the premise of the first book was plain crazy. If I were in Evan's shoes, there would be absolutely no forgiveness for either Riley (hate that name btw) or Nate. How could you want to be with her after she slept with your brother? and the whole 'oh oops well we thought you were dead' bit doesn't excuse it! If my sibling died I would never think it would be appropriate to hook up with her partner no matter the circumstances and especially with a child. Why? because that's skeezy and inappropriate, yes Riley is a whore and Nate is a traitor. but nah this is definitely a fantasy because in real life, this situation is plain effed up.In reality, Evan would have filed for custody and got the hell away from that creepy situation. I can see why others enjoyed it, but I just couldn't get past the whole keeping it in the family theme. Yuck.

There are mixed reviews for this book, so I know I’m not alone, but I’m definitely in the minority with a big, fat…

The follow up to Here with Me, this book picks up right where the last one left off, but this time in the POV of two brothers – Evan and Nate – who are both in love with the same woman.

I wasn’t in love with the first book in this duet, and I was hoping for big things from this one as the confrontation all comes to a head and I was ready for the epic love story to happen. But instead it all just seemed to deflate for me. Again, I didn’t really feel a whole lot – and sadly that includes both of the potential love stories.

“Can you do me a favor?”
“Anything...”
“Choose Me.”

See ^^^! That should have had me swooning! But it just didn't. And my general feeling of meh wasn’t helped by the fact that both of the boys acted like brats, and Ryley was so very blah. And then there was a whole lot of behaviour which was really weird.

I did enjoy the mystery element though. I was curious to learn more about their mission, how it all came about, and how it all went so terribly wrong. And there’s a good build up as things are slowly revealed and the characters work together to figure it all out.

It’s all tied up in the end, but by that point I was sadly over it and finished the story with a shrug, not really caring one way or the other. And then that epilogue…

I’m disappointed with my feelings about this duet. I so wanted to love it, and have been looking forward to reading it for a long time. Sadly, there was just too much that didn’t work for me.

2 stars. It was ok.

I'm in the minority here, as most everyone loves this book. And, from a “feels” perspective, this is angsty AF. Nate’s in the mix now, and both are pleading their case Meredith Grey style… So pick me. Choose me. Love me for Ryley's love. Unfortunately for me, she kind of ruined it all with her prolonged back and forth/playing with their feelings for WAY TOO LONG to make any decision feel authentic. (you’ll need to wait until about 70% for any improvement on this front) Add in an “out of nowhere but super convenient” plot device to cinch a HEA for everyone at the eleventh hour… and I wasn’t feeling, or really believing in the ride off into the sunset. Without giving spoilers… I’ll just say epic/fairytale/legendary love shouldn’t be that hard to decide, or easy to switch. IMHO

In a lot of ways this plays out very similar to the first book. ✔ It’s told in dual POV’s, so we only get thoughts from 2 sides of the triangle. (Evan & Nate w/ the last chapter from Ryley) ✔ It takes several chapters to get going. ✔ Chapters and chapters of Ryley wavering/playing both sides (now w/ Nate on page we also get back and forth kissing, making out, dry humping) ✔ Pages and pages of discussions on how to tell EJ that Evan is really his dad (I thought we handled this last book) ✔ No-one really acting like you’d expect. The only main difference is we get some closure.

Much like the previous book, some parts were really good while others weren’t so great. The biggest issue being a lack of development. The love triangle doesn’t develop; we have chapters and chapters of treading water with Ryley’s flip flopping emotions, then at around 75% there’s this massive shift/epiphany plot device that changes the game. Add in the kumbaya of the players (especially females) and I called BS.

The big military mystery that was the cause of conflict for both books wasn’t developed either. Another convenient plot device appears, and we’re quickly given info, then it’s brushed away… starting at 85% and ending at 86%, which felt half-assed and incomplete. It may continue with the 3rd book, but I’m not that interested.

Bottom Line- Just ok for me. I love angst, but don’t want to be tortured with indecision for hours… this is why I avoid love triangles. I enjoy the bumpy ride, but need to know the destination. The pacing was off 70% spinning wheels, then pretty much everything happens in last 15%, making it feel too convenient/quick/lazy.

**ARC was sent to me in exchange for my honest review**

OMG! SO SO SO SO SO GOOD!

Heidi NEVER lets me down.

I don't even know how to put into words the emotional roller coaster that this book took me on. There is just SO much goodness to this story.

CHOOSE me is a continuation of the first book, HERE WITH ME. We pick up with both Evan and Nate coming face to face and basically "duking it out" (not really, but you get the gist) for Ryley's love and affection. But throughout all of that, there is an underlying mystery that still needed to be solved, which is the subplot throughout the book.

Heidi doesn't just let Evan, Nate OR Ryley off of the hook for what now presents to be a horrible set of circumstances. She allows each character to feel what they're supposed to feel, good or bad, and she lets them feel the natural repercussions of their decisions. That's what makes this book SO good and what makes Heidi such a truthful author. Nothing is all lollipops and candy canes. People get hurt, feelings get hurt. It all gets SO real.

The character development in the books just continues to get better and better. You learn more about each of the main characters, from Ryley to Evan to Nate, as well as the supporting cast in characters. It all felt so fluid from book one to book two. Heidi just really allowed everything to flow at a pace that was believable, raw and real.

The emotions that come off of the pages are so tangible. I felt so many things while reading this story, but it was all so necessary. I was angry at certain characters, I was nervous for others. I was anxious, excited and all of the above. And THAT'S what you're supposed to experience when you're immersed in a book like this one.

This book carries such a heavy and dramatic plot that, to be honest, isn't usually my kind of thing. Because I'm such an empathetic person, it pains me to feel too much. But I just couldn't put this book down. I was so nervous for so many reasons. And it takes a fantastic storyteller to put me through the wringer, like Heidi did. And I loved it.

I am just SO happy with this book. Not everything happened the way that I anticipated and I am SO happy that my expectations were shattered. Heidi's plan was way better than mine!

After devouring Here With Me I was lucky enough to get the next instalment of The Archer Brothers and Ryley's truly emotional story.

If you've read the first book you will surely have divided loyalties as I did even more so at the start of this book.

Nate arrives home from his mission to find his twin brother he buried walking through the door with his fiancé and child EJ.

It's really hard to review this book without giving away huge spoilers all I can say this is not just a romance it is a book with a huge mystery to be solved. Why was Evan deployed on his mission for so long? Why was there a big cover up when the four Seals got home. Why did his brother not look for him? Why did the love of his life fall for his twin brother?

Well you will just have to read both books to get the exciting and beautiful answers to those questions. Choose Me is going in my fave book shelf, you will not be disappointed.

I'd like to give this a .5 Star rating if that was possible but I settled for 1 since I fucking finished the entire thing. I don't even know how or why I even bothered.

The first book was passable but this second one was a complete waste of time not to mention money. I'm so angry right now!

After the back-and-forth can't decide who she'll choose crap, redundant lines, redundant emotions, angsty lame confrontations the story and 'conflict' just got resolved like that? Does Cara have magic ***** or something? That when she showed up everything became neat and peachy? That everyone gets to live HEA?

The ending was very lame and convenient, all that round about indecision crap was for nothing. What a cop out.

4.5 rating...
Here with Me was one of my top reads last year but it left me hanging so I've been waiting impatiently for this second installment! I could not wait to dive in and find out which Archer brother Ryley was going to choose. Or, if she was going to choose either one...
In the first book we met Evan Archer who comes home from an unusually long and secret military mission to find out that everyone had believed he was dead. In his 6 yr absence he missed the birth of his son and his fiancée Ryley was now betrothed to his twin brother Nate.
The emotions were strong in book one as Ryley was battling with the sudden re-emergence of her first love against the man she grew to love when she finally decided to move on with her life. Then there was the mystery behind why this group of soldiers were declared dead only to be brought back to life 6 yrs later. Nate, his twin brother, was MIA in book one because he was away on a top secret mission... but, in book two we finally get his side of the story.
Tension is high and so is mistrust as these two brothers begin the battle for Ryley's heart and search for answers behind the secrecy of the mission that has torn apart their family. Nate was definitely the more compassionate brother while Evan was more pushy, impatient and overbearing. But, they both realized that someone was going to have to make a compromise for the sake of the little boy involved.
At the end of book one I was completely rooting for Evan but very quickly found myself rooting for Nate as the story evolves in this second book. There were some very emotional scenes where Nate was remembering his brother that had me all tied up in knots and questioning Evan's character.
Ryley was very clearly in love with both of these men... and, choosing one or the other was an impossible choice to make. No matter who she picked, she felt like she would be losing something valuable from her life. It was a lose/lose situation and either decision would sever the relationship between two brothers who were once best friends.
Somehow, the author managed to produce an interesting solution to this problem... and, even though I thought it was a little rushed... I liked how everything was resolved by the end.
Most of the big questions get answered in this second installment and we are not left with a huge cliffhanger. So, I'm not entirely certain what to expect with book three. Perhaps a little more closure for the brother that doesn't get chosen?? Yep, that could be good! And, no, I'm not going to tell you which one... so, don't ask! :)
These two books have taken me on a very suspenseful, emotional journey. A very compelling and edgy story that is sure to please fans of romantic suspense.
I'm definitely looking forward to book three. Can't wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve!

THIS BOOK! This book was on my highly anticipated list of 2015 after reading Here With Me (which made my top list of 2014). What can I say other than Heidi did such an AMAZING job with this series (so far because YES there is ONE MORE!). Completely captivating, exciting, heartbreaking yet uplifting - Heidi had my heart in her hands from the very first page of Here with Me and throughout Choose Me and yet again, I devoured this book completely because I could not stop reading nor did I want to because I HAD TO KNOW!

I was so scared to read this book. How do you get back the time you missed, the life you had and the love you lost? And above all, who did this awful thing to this family and tore them apart? Brothers and friends who were so close yet now fighting for the family and woman they loved above all else.

I was an emotional basket case reading this book because I hurt for them all. I didn't want there to be a winner because I knew that ultimately someone's heart would be broken. And yes, for me it was complete torture (you can go ahead and ask Heidi how many times I messaged her while reading this book lol).

So I won't reveal one thing because I truly feel that you need to be surprised and you need to experience this journey yourself but I will leave you with a couple of things...

Choose Me was everything I look for in a good read - exhilarating and suspenseful and of course the love and romance - it truly touched my heart and soul. Secrets will be revealed and expect the unexpected. I love how the title was used in the story "Choose Me" and it won't be in the way that you are thinking...Above all else, I just love LOVE and Heidi gives you a story that will keep your mind and heart racing yet in the end the love emitting from these pages will make your heart happy.

If you have not picked up this series, I encourage you to NOW - you won't regret it! Just WOW! <3

Never had I been more nervous and excited over a continuation of a book like I had for this one. And let me tell you, it sure lived up to the build up and anticipation even more than I could ever have imagined!
In Choose Me we get the alternating POVs of the Archer twins. Evan had been declared dead 6 years ago and is trying to reclaim his life which he feels his twin brother Nate stole while he was away. At the end of Here with Me, Nate has just come back from a mission only to find his brother alive and well and with who he considers his family, his fiancée Ryley and EJ, his nephew that he's been raising as his own.
The brothers pull out all the stops including fighting dirty to show who she belongs with and you can also see how torn Ryley is over one that is her first love and love of her life and the other who is her best friend who helped build her back up and find a reason to live.
One thing is for sure, both will do everything they can to protect what is theirs and keep their family safe. Can the brothers put aside their differences and solve the mystery over who or what is behind the coverup? And who will Ryley choose?
What an absolutely brilliant story and everything came together that left me so satisfied. The action and drama is fast paced and every chapter will leave you breathless. The complexities and nuances of weaving the love story with the mystery as well as backstory and history were seamless and brilliantly well written! Heidi continues to amaze me!!

In the conclusion to this series, we finally get the answers as to what kept Evan away for 6 years, and Riley FINALLY chooses a brother.

When the last book left off, Nate returned home to find out his brother was not only alive, but trying to move in on his fiancé who he used to be engaged to before being declared dead. When I type it now, it sounds ridiculous, but I can assure you that the author makes it work. While this homecoming should be a joyous one for the brothers, their fighting over a girl seemed to get in the way. Riley must have some kind of magical pussy. As the brothers tried to sort out their shit, we also have to suffer a bit through her indecision. I wasn't a fan of this part, it felt like she was toying with both brothers. She shouldn't have touched them or kissed them while she was sorting out her head and heart. It wasn't fair to either of them.

Like the first book, the most intriguing part of this story is the mystery of Evan and his troop's secret mission. The pieces behind the story come slowly, but it's apparent that their mission was more than some weird mix-up when Riley gets death threats, among other things. It became a story of "who can you trust." And it became obvious that the person they should worry about was closer to the group than initially suspected.

If you had concerns about broken hearts with the love triangle, the author finds a way to make everyone happy in the end, so have no fear.

This was my most anticipated book of 2015! I needed my answers!! Who would Ryley be with? Could Nate and Evan repair their relationship enough to work together in finding out who was behind Evan’s “death”? I was scared and anxious to read this one. Here With Me blew me away. I wasn’t sure if Choose Me would have the same impact but Heidi never disappoints. The way she has everything come full circle is amazing. Choose Me had me on the edge of my seat. This isn’t just any love story, its full of mystery, secrets, and lies. After reading Here With Me and Choose Me, Heidi will give you a new respect for Military families and gives an insight of what they deal with when their loved ones are on duty.

Of gosh what to write about Choose Me...This book/series has you on such an amazing emotional roller coaster that you find yourself not wanting to get off. Once you start you just can't stop, you go from having the mystery and suspense behind Evan and his team that you are desperate to find out who is behind it or why they did what they did; to the love you feel for and from Ryley, Evan, and Nate..then you throw EJ into the mix and you can't help but melt and love that kid!....Heidi just blows you away with her writing I can't even express how much I love this series. Team Evan has been my stance since the beginning but she sure know how to plant a soft spot for Nate. So the question is who will Ryley Choose?

Wow! This book was AWESOME! This story had it all: love, drama, angst...I was firmly Team Evan going in to it, but now, I am Team Archer. Nate definitely pulls at your heartstrings (of course Evan does too), but at least now we know where Nate was coming from when he decided to take up with Ryley. And can I just say that I absolutely LOVE EJ!!! The way he talks is adorable! This story ended exactly like it should have and I cannot wait to read the next one! Heidi McLaughlin, you are a genius!!!

I picked this title up after reading its prequel, "Here With Me." Because the first book ended in a cliffhanger, I was interested in finding out what happened to the characters I'd gotten to know in book 1.

These 2 books could have easily been combined into one. There was so much repetition, not only in the beginning to recap what happened in book 1, but with the inner thoughts of the characters. Evan's anger for missing 6 years of his life and wondering what happened, Nate's frustration at the possibility of losing his family, and Ryley's confusion between the two men... The back and forth became tiring. Nate was more of an outside character in book 1, so I never felt the bond the brothers had. They seemed to compete almost from the moment Ryley stepped onto the scene. In this tale, they were blood enemies.

The main reason I read Choose Me was to find out what happened to keep Evan away for so long. Having completed it, I can say I still don't know. The bad guy reveal and explanations were so rushed after 2 full books, I don't feel the resolution was given justice. I also felt there were many loose ends not explained or resolved:

This book needed so much more. So many key points were skipped over or not resolved. I wouldn't recommend it.

Im not sure where to begin with this review, Choose Me is hands down the BEST second book I have ever read in a series. Heidi’s writing in Here With Me was BRILLIANT , her writing in Choose Me has far surpassed that. I can’t begin to tell how much I love this book. Grab your tissues, take a couple of days off of work, (one for reading and one for recovery MAJOR book hangover) plan cereal for dinner for your family, lock yourself in your room and plan on not seeing anyone until you have finished Choose Me. Each chapter left me utterly speechless!!!

Nate has loved Ryley since high school but has kept those feelings hidden as best he could since she belonged to his twin brother Evan. After Evan was taken from them Ryley and Nates relationship grew from best friends to lovers. Nate has been Ryley's rock and a father to EJ. He plans to marry her once he gets back from training only there is one major obstacle in the way….EVAN! How dirty is Nate willing to fight for Ryley? Will he stop at nothing so Ryley will CHOOSE him?

The answers you have been waiting for are ready to be revealed, who was behind Evan being gone so long? Who will Ryley Choose? Well…….what are you waiting for one click this and start reading the BEST book of 2015!!!

Never has a book scared me as much as this one going in. We were moved by the story of the Archer Brothers and the one woman they both loved - Ryley, in Here with Me. Now Ryley needs to make a choice. Which Archer Brother will she end up with? The love of her life, Evan, who disappeared, thought for dead, six years ago. Or Nate, the ever present, protector, stepping in as he promised his brother he would, to guard Ryley and her son EJ.

This book is, to date, the best work of Heidi McLaughlin. The emotions that you feel for everyone involved moves you to tears at times. As the truth to Evan's disappearance, everyone's lives seem to be in danger. Old emotions and feelings come to the surface for Nate as Cara comes back into his life. Will Ryley, Evan and Nate ever be able to go back to the way life was?

I had a hard time picking sides. I had empathy for everyone involved. You see and feel the love that pours from every fiber of their being. A beautiful love story between lovers, between brothers, between family.

This is series is not to be missed. A definite Top Read for 2015!
