A very good, very quick action packed read.

This novel reminds me very much of the pulp action thrillers that were so popular back in the late 70's and early 80's.

Early on in the novel there is a stoning, a beheading and various other acts of violence. There is the requisite sex and the talented former Marine friends to help the protagonist in his quest for vengeance.

Readers of the action thriller genre will not be disappointed with this.

An LJM. Murder Mystery Adventure (AMRN. -TRSB. -1)

LBJ. has. written the first in the Repairman series. An ex military WOC. Who received a general discharge in Iraq returns to the US. And begins work as a contractor repairman. If something in your personal life is wrong and it needs correcting then call the Repairman. A man trained martial arts and every weapon a Marine used fits right into real problems with simple solutions. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

A nice one with good action. It was more like a Quentin Tarantino movie plot.

Mike Reardon is a man shaded by dark deeds he performed during his service in the Marine Corps. He does not want to recall what was necessary to survive during battle but like his buddies he will never forget.

Doing right the wrong way may not be the prudent act of good judgment but most times that is the course of action required. When a beautiful woman hires him to find her ex-husband that kidnapped her daughter Mike is all over the job. The problems start to build within minutes after accepting the job when the client turns up dead, the ex-husband and daughter are under witness protection, and it appears the Mexican cartel is the key player of destruction.

The best part for Mike is his friends from the Corps who never let him down or disappoint when having each other’s back. Everyone in the group has a talent for computers, weaponry, and skilled marksmanship so the plan is laid out and the bad guys better decide whether today is a good day to die because it is bound to happen.

What L.J. Martin can do with a character is pure literary magic. Mr. Martin can take the character, wrap a story around them, and tell a tale with such expertise every reader absorbs every page with utter obsession.

Picked as a "filler" book to have something to read and could have skipped it. Ex-Marine working only through references and only if he "deems" the job is worth doing.

He's asked to find a 5yr old not returned by Dad during his custody visit. She's been recommended by a Marine buddy so he takes it. Turns out she's killed-cartel style and that sets Mike off to Vegas to right some wrongs -using all his contacts/friends etc to get it done.

The dialog is super cheesy especially about women and it just caused many eye-rolls while reading.

Not proceeding with this series.

What an adventure

This was an excellent an action adventure with a very likable protagonist, a 'good guy' fixed. The plot is extremely creative and companions, who are quirky, relatable with tangible comradery with bonds to each other that is enviable.

The only improvement would be I'd Carol/Sharon would remain one or the other throughout the story.

Kindle book, read on my iPad.
LJ Martin is a great writer, very detailed. He is from California and is very descriptive, he even knows about the US Marine training area, Twenty Nine Palms.
This is a series, and I will end up buying an reading them all/

Action kept the pace moving. Wisecracking Mike brings a smile in the midst of gunfire. Would recommend this book to all action lovers.

Discharged ex Marine working as a Fixer for hire for big $$s and operates quite often outside the law, but has his own code of conduct

Takes down a bunch of drug cartel thugs, cleans up the pushers and pimps around an oilfield and recovers a stolen jet from a Paraguayan

Air force general who is smuggling drugs. Typical pulp fiction with bigger than life good guys and baddies, lots of shooting, wounding, recovering, available stunning women, well you get the idea.

It's ok. The book could use some editing but it was a fun book to read. The author tried to help us to understand the character but it was hard for me to visualize a womanizer with a superhero syndrome. Everybody owed everybody so they all drop what they are doing sans any thought and without pay to help the underdog. Nice. Your typical good marine crushes bad guys with flying bullets.
