Find out for yourself how Pride and Prejudice, a favourite classic romance by Jane Austen transforms when our most-beloved hero’s actions take him on a fortuitous divergence in Change of Heart.
I feel those who know in advance what the book intales and still chooses to buy will be pleased. Darcy is a man after little self conflict overcomes his reluctance and sets his sights on Elizabeth. Lizzy is at Netherfield nursing her sister back to health when the discovery is made. Lizzy is ignorant at first but soon made aware of Darcy's intention. Miss Bingley of course sets about trying to distract Darcy. There was some humor surrounding that and you will laugh out loud reading about proper stable etiquette. Lizzy confesses to Darcy that she wants there courtship to be kept secret and so there are several secret outings.
If you are an Austen purists be forewarned you will be upset as Darcy and Lizzy explore their desires and the author is not reserved with her sharing. I didn't mind except that the author had Lizzy making moves on Darcy without reserve when she wasn't sure of her affection for him. I didn't like her cast in that light. I know some might think that fickle but Lizzy is not a simple harlot who would be so willing to take such action with a man unless she was sure of her feelings. I do believe if she was clear that she would than be willing to cast some propriety aside but without that emotion to support her action noway. That was the only thing that bothered me but only briefly.
I enjoyed the story very much but know Darcy is not prideful or shy once he makes up his mind and the story does not follow JA storyline. If none of this bothers you... enjoy!!
I absolutely loved this books and look forward to read the sequel!! I just loved how Elizabeth and Darcy were able to confront each other much earlier and with less bitter words. There is still a decent amount of angst, but sometimes I love not having all the angst (not always good for my heart or sanity!!). I felt that the characters stayed pretty true to the originals that Jane Austen created. A must read!!!
A saucy story with glimpses of humour, albeit a little naive in its execution.
Entered while the Bennet sisters were at Netherfield. A lot of chance encounters between ODC made Darcy make a much quicker decision on pursuing Elizabeth. Elizabeth's usually so sweetly covered acerbic wit was taken a step too far and she ended up feeling downright rude. Made me wonder if this author perhaps has little experience as it also felt rushed. Rushness has its advantages, it makes the story come quickly to the point but it loses plausibility and integrity on the way. It lacked the build-up of anticipation and was overly explained. Halfway through I seriously considered abandoning the book because it had become repetitive when it suddenly turned melodramatic. It got really annoying after this debacle... Darcy utters: "I love Elizabeth with all my heart. It would kill me if something were to happen to her." She's just got insulted, attacked, kidnapped, sexually assaulted and shot you dolt! What else could possibly happen??? (Sorry, my "be kind rule" went out the window with my patience). After this, I stopped caring and speeded through the rest. Oh my! When I thought it could not get any worse, it just did... Can you imagine Mr Darcy fending off matchmaking mama's and their daughters at the theatre by saying he was going home because of his insatiable "need" for his wife? Or worse, Elizabeth giving Darcy a "lap dance" to distract the Colonel during a game of billiards? I have no words... And my rating just dropped from a 2 to a 1*.
Utterly ridiculous!

I enjoyed this enlightening variation of Darcy and Elizabeth's story. I loved how they worked through their differences to give love a chance. Truly loved Lady Catherine and Lady Anne in this story. Wickham and Caroline for what they deserved. Highly recommended to read

Awful is my description! Elizabeth as a wanton woman would never have occurred in Pride and Prejudice and Darcy would have more self control based on how we know his character. Elizabeth fell in love too quickly and easily. Sentence structure was very poor. Speeches made me laugh due to their ridiculousness!
UGGH! The first 10% of this book isn't terrible. The rest is pretty bad. Between the sex scenes which are ridiculous. The poor writing and the absurd plotting it isn't worth your time.
A fun romp in Austen land. Please do not look for canon here and it is MATURE. Other than a few minor editing issues (hence 4 stars), it was a pleasant read and I look forward to the next book.
